  1. The Tramezza line is well-made the rest isn't but if you like the style...

Tramezzas are very well made, Lavblahblah Origionale (sp) is blake welted with nice leather, Studio is cemented trash with decent leather, only for those who wear dress shoes once or twice a year, and the leather doesn't even shine particularly well. All of this is irrelevant, cuz the shoes in question are ugly as sin.

  2. You know, I just had a mini-revelation. Hypebeasts build from the bottom up. Take Dior:

    1) Inquire about Dior sneaker fit

    2) Post pics of various store buys of sneakers

    3) Inquire about Dior sneaker price

    4) Purchase said sneakers on supermarket.

    5) Inquire about Dior jeans fit

    6) Post pics of various Dior jeans cobbled from the internet.

    7) Ask about fit 100 times

    8) Purchase jeans through supermarket

Rinse/repeat for every fashion label offering sneakers and jeans.

  3. KVA collection for Dior Homme is really very bad. From the shoes to the hairstyle everything looks wrong... I was not a fan of Hedi Slimane but he had a sense of modernity that KVA doesn t have. In my opinion it will not last.

PHEW GOOD THING YOU JOINED AND BROUGHT THIS REVELATION TO OUR COLLECTIVE ATTENTION!

  4. i like this train of thought. i always describe it as "costume fashion". if you're to wear the 3 jacket cdg outfit literally it is a total costume. same for overly styled pieces, the faux tie uniform experiment or 1st collection KVA come to mind. back to cdg with the layeres collection or galliano or whatever - fashion houses create these narratives to give a sense of continuity to a range of clothing, but the individual pieces are just clothes. they've got to be integrated into a personal style or else you're in dior homme hell. i guess at this point it's painfully clear that when people wear the whole hedi slimane getup it's a really expensively hamfisted reference to this scene in london that you certainly aren't part of.

i really love the lanvin collections because lots of the items are neutral but still cool and not demanding you buy pieces to go together. one of my fav labels is cdg evergreen for these same reasons.

    What he said.

  5. Hali... do you have any experience with pants of any of these brands.. ive been wanting some non jeans pants, especially dressier wool pants, and ive been looking at jil, costumer national, neil barrett, etc. Any you like in particular and do you know how they run size wise. I only know that i generally wear 29s in jeans (APC new cures are 28 and they actaully measure like 15.5 across the back waist-band). Bascially im afraid IT46s will be too small in the waist but IT48s too big through the seat and thighs.

Costume National, for instance, at a size 46 with a straight leg, is about 30.5" around, with a low-mid rise. Pretty standard in the grand scheme of things.

On CN laceups, I would probably go a half size down. Somewhat elongated. As far as I can tell, they have not mixed CNC up with the main line, that stuff is pretty damn gaudy.
