  1. oh right I missed that bit.

Doesnt make sense in my eyes as people who like repros usually like them for the comfortable 'traditional' fit..... e.g. repro fans probably arent gonna have a lot of 'cheap monday' style fits in their collections, and vice versa the low rise skinny brigade normally wouldnt be seen dead in 55s, 1920s style fits.

    Its kind of 'either or'.

    Just my opinion anyway :)

  2. just wondering why the rise is so low, when these are repros?

otherwise, I really like the look of them, and the idea of the heritage / depression back story.

if I could get some with repro style rise, I'd probably get some.

great work. p.s. like the sound of the shirts too

  3. hi guys....

    LVC 505s...

are these slimmer than the 1947?

if yes, I dont want them.

also, are they sanforized? I think they are, but always pays to check.

    seriously addicted to lvc.

    cheers

also, has everyone seen these shirt.... oh my god...

  4. hey,

i just got a pair of these. the manager at the levisstore says it's a new STF 501 Selvage, not sold online or anywhere else. retails $98. he said that they are 13.5oz, and that they are a quality between LVC (14.5oz he says) and the old crappy STF 501 nonselvage that retails for $46, (11 oz he says).

i used a 30% off coupon that the levisstore emailed to me (it's expired now) two weeks ago. yes, they are different from the $46 STF, Capital E's, and the LVCs. how accurate they measured the weight of their denim is questionable though... I guess i can post pictures when i break them in more, to see if it's really 13.5oz.

    hope this helps!

what size ranges do these come in?

    cheers

  5. my 55s are very hairy and coarse denim.

I got them of Cotton Duck and they are my favourite jeans, because of the denim so very indigo / red, and also the size 38 x 40.

So I think that means they're some of the first LVCs made. Wish I could find some more.

wish levis still made that one. I saw the new LVC collection and now they go up to 44 waist, but no long leg anymore. Pathetic.

I had last years 47s and they were shiny in comparison, come to think of it

  6. if anyone wants a Blue Bell exactly the same style as worn by "Sympathy for the denim", I have exactly the same one in XXL (fits more like a large, seriously)

    BNWT. £100 - pm me.

My reason for sale is, at 6-5", unfortunately the sleeve lengfth is too short for me as much as I love it.

back to the drawing board

  7. Hi -

Does anyone know if its possible to 'pre-order' some thai fakes from Thailand?

I want some of the vintage effect ones in a true size 36 x 36.

(Before anyone says I should buy vintage, I can never find my size.)

Also, office job does not allow me to break in jeans anymore so would like some pre- authentically faded ones worn by a rice farmer or coconut picker or something.

let me know if you've got any contacts!

  8. Hi guys -

really want a levis LVC Type 3 jacket, problem again is HEIGHT. (6-5, so long arms)

or for that matter, could just be a good quality non-selvedge type 3 levis.

I dont want slim fit though?

    any suggestions - thanks

  9. pics will be available soon. just waiting for the stylebooks.

the size ranges of the 44's is like the others, no changes at all, except widen a bit in waist till 42'' and inseam 38''.

minimum waist of LVC is 30''.

if you like (Mr Fingers) we could try special orders for you.

you need size 26 or 28 in Rigid?

    cultizm

    Special order 40 inseam needed

  10. we have to get away from the competition element for everything, IMO.

Surely not everyone here have jobs where they can wear jeans anyway?

The sugar cane project was a good idea regardless of a 'competition', and I'd rather the people who wanted them HAD them, rather trying to get a high number of entrants for the 'competition' side, and then dictating when they have to wear them, when clearly there might not be the demand for 100 pairs in parallel to another competition at the same time.

    So no one gets them.

Even if thirty people just want them, regardless of whether its a "competition".

The idea of not being able to make this project a reality until 2010 or something with the next 'free' competition slot is just silly.

  11. Well if charge enough to cover the cost of each pair of jeans, then you break even.

    That is simple economics.

It doesnt matter if you make 2 pairs or two hundred.

If the cost is covered, the cost is covered.

If you cant get this project off the ground, better to just say now, because I dont think you ever specified how many people "needed" to enter anyway?

  12. i need those sugar canes in my life.

you probably need to do a better promotion of what you are planning.

Also, who said a competition has to have hundreds of members?

However many enter, Im sure most would be happy to pay the production cost price. After all, you said Sugar Cane were not doing this as a profit making exercise, therefore it does not matter how many or how few enter, as long as we cover Sugar Cane's costs for each pair.
