  1. Like Herpsky said, anybody who fits into a men's small in BB will probably have better luck with the the boys XL.

Embarrassed as I was I tried on some of the boys stuff while visiting my folks in PDX and it fit like a glove. Not only that, everything in the store was 60% off. Full price for boys shirts was $45. After the discount...$18...

Even at $45 a shirt I would feel like I was robbing the place.

  2. APC NS, about a year on and off. Last 6 months have had some solid wear. One wash, one soak. Planning to wash again either this week or next. Combs could use some more definition but the lap fade is looking decent. Overall pretty happy with these.

Photos turned out slightly blurred but whatever. You guys get the idea.

  3. my next watch just may be....

I like Tsovet. They'd be even more awesome if they had mechanical mov'ts but I still think they're really attractive looking watches. Good everyday beater.

Guy in the recent purchases thread mentioned Lum-Tec. Not Swiss but Automatic and very Tsovet-esque.

    http://www.lum-tec.com/ (website's a little janky)

    THIS MODEL IS SOLD OUT

    :(

While the Marathon's sold out...their selection of O&W is pretty awesome. Good prices too. Too many options...I'll never be able to settle on a next watch...

  4. ^ I called the number on their website and they walked me through which one i wanted to order etc. iirc it was around $90?

This is good news. Their website makes it sound like civilians aren't able to purchase any of the product.

Unless you're military personelle and failing to mention it...

  5. ^ Yeah, I've yet to see one in person. Definitely no hate towards Traser it was more or less an observation. They've got plenty of solid reviews all over the watch forums.

I like that the Marathon's are a little more understated. To be honest I just kinda wanna see what the Tritium lighting looks like in the dark...

  6. Like I said, Traser looks like Marathon is their inspiration for their watches. They're not directly replicating and I can see how they're adding their own touches.

    Here's a comparison:

    Marathon WW194013

    ww194013l.jpg

    Traser P6500

    P_6500_type6_det.jpg

In this case both are Swiss quartz and VERY similar. I've seen the Marathon WW194013 on watch forums selling for around $150 but it might be worth the extra $100 to save yourself the leg work. I'd love to see both in person...

  7. But judging by your watch knowledge ericdw I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're well aware of Marathon. If so, what makes the Traser more appealing?

I like the look and the fact that they're using Swiss ETA movements in a few models. But I feel like for the money you could grab a Marathon with either a manual or quartz movement for a much better price...

  8. i've always wanted a traser h3 for a beater. only thing that's stopped me was the size. but what the hell, 43 won't look that dumb on me. anyone have one?

These Trasers look like they've used the actual mil watches made by Marathon as their inspiration. If you're not familiar with Marathon I highly suggest checking out eBay as you can grab one for much less than the cost of a Traser (unless you spring for a Gsar or Tsar model)

Movements range from Swiss mechanical movements to quartz. You can check back through this thread for more info I believe...

  9. I've decided after some research that my next watch pickup will be a Glycine Airman. It was either the Glycine or Sinn and I figured I'd grab something a little different.

Anybody have a Glycine in their collection? Any thoughts?

  10. Got this handed down from my old man on Christmas. Rose face, very understated. The Air King gets overlooked too often and I'm happy to have it in my modest collection.

The smaller, 34mm face looks perfectly fine on my wrist.

Might have the TG guys see if they can fab up a leather band in the near future.

  11. U-Boat seems to do what it does pretty well. More power to you if you've got the wrist and the little bit of swagger to wear one. I do like the more simplistic faces like Dchill's a little more than the chrono versions.

Pics of my new/old Rolex Air King on the way. Very excited about the first Rolex in the collection.

  12. I'll be the first to admit that I've fallen for the workwear/americana aesthetic. And I agree that it's more about individual pieces than the overall look. But it's all subjective. You could put all the goth ninja kids together just you like you did Sayword and you could make the same argument...

    The 1950's are back. Sup.

  13. Is this legit?

I've gotten scammed from a seller in Singapore before so I'm hesitant.

Pretty sure these types of eBay deals are similar to that of a grey market watch. Posted a link previously. Unless you buy from an authorized Seiko dealer, Seiko probably won't deal with any warranty issues that come up.

Nice part is, these watches are solid and I highly doubt you'd have any warranty issues to begin with. It's like an insurance policy...you'll pay less for the grey market watch while sacrificing piece of mind if anything goes wrong.

It's $62. I'd pick it up and risk it.
