  1. @daaave i bought it months ago, so theres no way i can return it.

@whogotmeintothis i agree with you. i think panerais are more like fashion watches while rolex are more like classic watches. i have been thinking about natural leather straps, i just haven't found one =/

If you'd really like a sub, I would be willing to bet that there are numerous members of forums like Watchuseek that would be willing to make a trade like that. You should check it out.

  2. *Timeless isn't a good word to describe watches

Did you just make a joke Daaaaaaave?

I'm with the majority here on the sub vs. Panerai. The sub will truly never go out of style and will always look reasonable on almost anyone's wrist.

There is something very un-Panerai about the black gator strap though. If it were me, I'd want something in a more natural brown leather. Something I could watch age over time. .

  3. maybe you guys can help me out here. One of the nicest lookin watches of something i'd wear daily in my opinion is the rxw mm20 watch. I remember ayn had posted some pics a few yrs ago on superfuture. Only thing is the watch is hard to find or come across and its still a bit out my price range (i think its goin for arounda grand or two?) anyways anyone can point me out ti something that looks similar in style? I would like to be able to change the wrist band. Anyways thanks for any help.

Check this thread on the WUS Fora. There are about a dozen different options for finding a solid Panerai homage and this thread outlines most of them. Pick you price and go from there.

  4. The Milgauss is one my favorite watches. Despite the kitschy second hand, it just feels solid on the wrist and I like some of the more subtle detailing.

Not to mention, everybody's rocking a sub or a variation of the sub these days and the Milgauss just does something a little different.

  5. I was perusing through GQ tonight, a moreso recent issue, but I saw a page dedicated to black on black watches- a Timex was featured but I can't find it for the life of me, it looked pretty rad, especially at its price point ~$60. Can anyone help me out? Can't find it online through the respective websites...

Pretty much looks like an easy reader, but 100% black. On that note, any other suggestions for a black on black watch under $100?

Sorry for the shitty phone pic but that's the watch. I did a quick search through GQ's fashion directories but they don't have the August issue up yet. No avail on Google either. I'd love to know where to purchase as I just wanna get a better look at it. Pretty hypebeast though so I'm not sure I'd pick it up...

  6. When I first joined the fora in Watchuseek I was actually surprised at how many folks were buying and selling Invicta watches in there.

I'm with the guys above who said it reminded them of the HSN. I'd rather pick up an Orient Sub or something like that.

  7. Lum-Tec has been brought up time and time again in here as a nice alternative to some of the bigger faced, U-Boat style watches (Tsovet, Welder).

Lum-Tec uses quality automatic movements and produces a smaller number of watches per model than most. Just be forewarned, their website does NOT do their timepieces justice.

  8. @CUTUP : We're talking about dropping $500+ on a watch that's realistically worth $100 considering the cheap quartz movements they have in them.

It's not about waterproofing are "features" per say. It's about quality.

For what you're considering spending on a Welder, you could pick up a handful of the other watches that are far superior in quality and construction.

  9. anyone know this...

    I've been wearing a Sekio 100

and when I go jogging the top of my wrist is kind of discolored like the metal is wearing off...?

I thought it was Stainless and I didn't think stainless did that?

It shouldn't. Can't tell you why this is happening but I can tell you that if you're trying to jog with a watch you should invest in something a little lighter. Sounds like it's gotta be distracting...
