high priced jeans are here to stay. i think designer jeans like dior's will go away as they can't justify that price tag. But well made denim using good raw materials will always be worth it.

i have never understood about using special soap. You can get the same results from any normal powdered laundry soap as long as it doesnt have much bleach in it.

i think the creasing alone has power to make dye fade as well.

as the fibres would be stretched where it is creased the most, at the peak of the crease and they would be relaxed at the valley of the crease (also at the valley they would be protected from abrasion as well). Thats why you see both light and dark contrast in one whisker.

i dont think we are better as such. i think it is more about the japanese psyche of perfection and obsession with detail.

makes us very good at copying more than anything, we do innovate but much of what we have achieved has come from some sort of emulation.

I have never been there but I'm thinking my own private island in the south pacific somewhere.

what do you mean not enough denim action. superfuture has far more denim experts on it than style forum.

on a brief look most people are just about paper denim, earnest, diesel.

tried searching for all of the great denim brands commonly talked about on SF ie. sugarcane, imperial, SD, samurai, LVC and they had very little.

maybe i just can't search very well.
