Macpac from that era was a nice thing. They were an innovative company that did loads of R&D, prioritized repair over replace. Sometime in the 2000s they were bought out by the founder of Kathmandu, and she turned it into just another mass market made elsewhere, cheaper to replace than repair. (still better quality and design than Kathmandu stuff IMO, but not the great NZ product it used to be)

Nice! Love his work, He's done a few murals down in Dunedin, I visit them every time I head south, I'll go take the same photos I take every time when I'm down there in a few weeks

back when i went to work.. students used to ask me why I was allowed to wear track pants, wasn't I meant to dress like a teacher I was wearing my baggy Byborre Miffy pants, best answer I could come up with was "actually they are pyjamas"

remember back in the olden days when sufu was like the wild west and people used sarcasm brackets so people didnt get confuddled by tone, it was great (4)

here's some fades printed in a more Margiela way (a random uni students work) Way back when The DD+1 Evisu touring jeans thing happened, Evisu took the pair the 13 of us had worn and reproduced our fades for a limited release. Funnily enough we all opted for a raw pair. Woke up this morning trying to remember who the 13 were, got stuck after 9 people. Going to search it now. Gotta love a procrastinating trip down memory lane Also on the crowd funding thing.. I put money into a Chuck Palahniuk - Choke, movie crowd funding, got a t shirt hat, signed book, and some other stuff, but looks like the movie is never going to happen. Sad as I had put my late cats name to go in the credits and that would have been great to see. Her name was Sausage. edit: popped up on my bookface memories this morning, Sausage in the top right with my Choke pledge merchandise in amongst the other pledgers

I may have given my contact details to some of them, just incase they need me. I’m going to miss them more than they miss me though probably.

I think it was only for the contest. 20 pairs. The hand written note had an apology for them taking so long, think he was a busy guy. I loved my pair, look forward to fitting them again soon. First bike ride of 'I will fit my old clothes again' done today. Other Denimbro thing I found is a LVC bandana I won for writing something to go with a photo or something. 1 year off work, being creative and riding my bike. I might be more active round here too.

Having a tidy up to sort my work room out so I can actually work in it not just dump stuff. Found some Sufu linked relics in one box of treasures.

Here they are. Quite different to what is up on the yamane site now. The free tote bag I got with them has been well used, it’s been around the world and up and down NZ several times. Gotta go iron the brim of my hat so it’s safer to go outside.

and I chopped mine off into shorts and turned the legs into a bucket hat They are lovely denim, the opposite to my Samurais... really soft and pliable, the Indigo had lots of depth, has faded well, would still wear them except i got old and fat. I got mine about 17 or 18 years ago. Its summer here now so I will be wearing the hat. Semi-active, that's me in general. Wish I had kept my EVISU we were gifted for doing the DD+1 traveling pants way back
