honestly, you can find a les paul studio, which are pretty sturdy in my opinion, for relatively cheap on ebay. like $400 for a decent condition model. you could probably do both if you are willing to drop the money on a gibson then just work your ass off for a little longer to get the motorcycle. either way, its a good investment on both items.

It might just be me, but I don't really like the feel of the Studios.

I could definitely buy both right now; unfortunately it's not the money as much as justifying it to the wife. Savor your time alone.

I was in a band in high school and played a borrowed Les Paul Custom as well as a cheap Fender Standard Strat off and on through college. About a year ago I bought a decent Ibanez acoustic, started taking lessons again and am feeling pretty good with my playing, so I'm looking to invest in a nice electric in the near future.

Problem is that I'm torn between buying a new guitar vs. a vintage motorcycle.

I'm looking now at getting an amp, and I'm tossing up between the Peavey 6505+ head with the 6505 box, or a Dual Rectifier with the Recto cab.

Anyone here fucked with them?

Also, are ENGL or VHT amps anygood?

Very nice. I've been holding back, but I'm pretty set on purchasing a Les Paul 'Traditional'.......Seems to be a solid medium between the Studio and Custom.

By thug life I mean lots of rich persians.

There is not a single noteworthy bar in Beverly Hills, nor is there one you can kick back in a t-shirt.

Santa Monica is more relaxed but it is full of tourists and severely lacking in terms of bars/restaurants. The only place I enjoy in SM is the King's Head, and that's only because it's a decent place to get a pint, eat some fish and chips, and watch a rugby/soccer match. Shopping is mediocre. Fred Segal is occassionally worth visiting, but all of the other stores in the area are chains like Club Monaco, Zara, etc.

If you are going to be working in downtown / W. Hollywood, I would strongly suggest staying in West Hollywood again, or if you are set on seeing more of the city, downtown. I can guarantee you that if you spent 24 hrs around W. Hollywood last time, you probably saw less than 1% of what it has to offer.

somehow people here glorify fast food as something trendy and represents wealth. what's sad is that stuff like mcdonalds, kfc, el pollo locco, wendy's, chilli's, starbucks and other chained american restaurants get placed in good shopping malls. i love fast food but only when im really starving or drunk or in need of food really fast.
