  1. I've been thinking about starting a store to sell jewellery in Canada, since I think there's a huge unfilled demand for that where I live... anyone have any idea how to set up supplier links in China? Small-scale wholesale, I'm not gonna be bringing 5 digits of stuff in, so I only want to invest maybe a thousand or so at a time...

Looking at sterling silver and gold, mostly. Looked at a few online sites, but all of the quality is so bad. I don't want to provide a low quality item, even if the price is good.

I will be flying to China in a month, also..

Anyways, anyone's advice or experience would be appreciated a lot.. thanks.

  2. Someone recommended them in another thread where I was asking about suits in the 300-400GBP range (London, UK). Has anyone heard anything about them, or purchased their suits?

I'm 5'5, 140 and wearing small in everything, so looknig for a really slim fit with good construction, something casual that can be stepped up to work or stepped down to lounge.

Also, anyone have any recommendations? I will be busing out to London on the 12th, so I have a day to shop before heading to Morocco.

  3. Actually, I don't think the Rit Black Dye is very good..

I used it quite often lately, and it always seems not to be able to achieve the purest black color, often has tinge of purple (which I didn't notice as much in the beginning).

Kumo, where can you purchase that dye you used? The result looks great.

  4. Thanks for the warning man, I just went in today to check it out again, and it turns out it really is London.

Won't be picking it up for such an expensive cost then, but it does leave the problem of not having a suit for the Christmas ball.... haha...

  5. Well I am in UK right now, although my home is in Toronto, and thinking about picking up a Paul Smith suit, mostly for future business work and formal dress.. it's 400GBP here, I don't think I've seen it carried in Toronto, although I might be mistaken.

How's the quality of their suits? The fabric seems a bit worse than the top-notch, but still decent, at least, to me.

And is 400GBP a reasonable price? Not for UK, but for the world.. as I will be back to Canada in a few months, so if it's unreasonably expensive compared to the alternatives, no reason for me to buy it here.

  6. Have there been many decent silversmith recently? Been looking for a new necklace, and went to Crazy Pig Design last weekend, but didn't really find anything that was good... going to go to Great Frog on Thursday, and probably also check out Chrome Hearts when I am in Paris, but all the designs lately seems so uninspired, nothing new.

  7. Does anyone know where to get custom glasses frames in London, or by independent designers with some innovation? I have to get a new pair of glasses, but if I have to pay such a large amount that the prices in London (where everything seems marked up compared to my home of Toronto), I would rather the money go to a smaller designer where I will get more for my money than say, Versace, Gucci etc.

Just want something that's unique style, but not flashy.

Hmmm.. posted this before, but it disappeared.

  8. Did they disappear? I went to Saville Row on the weekend, and the store wasn't even there.. I distinctly remember it being there last year when I went.. haha

    And Oki-Ni is gone too?..

  9. bad design? i could imagine someone may keep something in their wallet thats not exposed all the time.

perhaps it just leaves room for options.

Yeah, I'm trying to think of what option to use it for, that's all.. that part would fall under "clever reason" instead of "bad design" :P

Ya man, wish I had an Octopus card to stick in there, but for both Bath and Toronto I can't find a use.. haha :D

  10. Just bought this today, and this pocket (outlined with a red circle) is kinda like the credit card slots on the right, but it has more depth. The card slides down completely, leaving nothing above. It's displayed not pushed down in the pic, though. It's kinda hard to grab. Is there any clever reason for it, or just bad design?

Love this store, the sales are always super friendly and helpful with the background of any of the pieces. Can't remember any time that I didn't get good service in this shop. No attitude at all.

    Nomad

Very chill atmosphere, as a lot of people have mentioned, Zeb is super friendly.

    JCY @ FMP

Friendly and very personal staff, previews for frequent customers, negotiable pricing, and all that. Relaxed atmosphere.
