  1. You can take a look at the link in my sig.. let me know if you need anything, I'll put out a coupon for sufu users. Also - got a new shipment of bracelets in last week, so once it gets back from the studio, we'll have some new stuff.

How's everyone feeling about Alex + Chloe's new stuff?

I liked the first collection they put out a while back. Their work has really gained traction (getting e-mails from them regularly, now), but I'm not entirely sold on the designs.

Clients seem to still be liking them, though..

  2. Pics below. It looks a bit brown in the pics, but it's the flash. Color is black.

Purchased in 2007 in London. Originally this one comes with a plastic flap, (9-slot billfold), but I threw it away to use that spot for driver's license.

I work in Jersey.. every now and then I take the train in to Manhattan, so if you really want to take a look, then we can probably arrange a time.

Very good condition as you can see from the pics.

300 USD OBO shipped anywhere in North America.

Let me know if you need better / more pictures, and I'll get a macro lens from a friend.

  3. Considering to go to Washington DC this weekend because of labour day.. gonna be traveling by myself.

    Living in Jersey right now.

Good idea? Lots to see?.. I've never been to the capital in any case.

    Cheap hostels? :D

If a lot of you guys say bad idea, maybe Phillie.

Edit: zomg! my post # lines up with my name #!

  4. Spa.. but actually anything will do.. preferably run by Chinese, all the white ones I looked at are so expensive & luxurious looking.

Prolly just wanna blow fifty bucks.

Edit: My previous post, I meant decent as in they're strong hands, not as in not-sketchy. I don't need a place that looks good :P

  5. MORE IMPORTANTLY :|

I need a recommendation for a haircut in NYC.

Someone who has experience cutting asian hair (hard hair).

The last time I went to a white salon, I came out a mess.. and there aren't any asian salons, not to mention asian people in my town.

  6. (Already read most of the stuff that came up in search.. looking for new stuff).

    Mmm..

Just moved to the US, living like an hour from NYC at most.

Nothing to do, so I will go there alone pretty much every weekend to get out of this town I live in.. which, in my past week of walking around, is about two streets big.

Any stuff to do after hitting up the pre-requisite cafes, museums, etc.?

Weekends remaining in the USA: 51

    =_=

  7. Was reading on the news that entry into the US requires customs to data dump your laptop/hard drives.

How frequently is this done? I have sensitive information (invoices, t/t record, etc.) and mp3s on my laptop.

  8. Cheap food is good. I'm just graduated a few years ago, so I'll blend right in.

Thinking of picking up a motorcycle, should be a lot cheaper than a car. Just have to grab my license. Although if there's nothing to do in Jersey, might just work-sleep-work-sleep and then train to NYC every weekend. And yep, Sushi, I am going to be working at JNJ there.

Hope it won't be too boring at night, but moving to somewhere where I don't know anyone, I expect it will be boring at first.. haha XD

  9. Hey dudes..

I'm probably gonna be moving to New Brunswick, NJ in a few weeks for work reasons.

Don't know much about it besides that it's pretty close to NYC. Never lived in US before for an extended time.

Anyone have some cool places to hit up? It is a pretty small city, so I guess I might be shooting fish in a barrel to ask here. Is public transportation good enough not to buy a vehicle? But more importantly.. boutiques, lounges, restaurants, jazz bars, cafe, bookstores, etc.? Things to do!

Any tips on the US/NJ in general? Or should I just give up and explore NYC instead?

    Cheers..

  10. I'll probably be flying to Los Angeles at the end of the month for a few days to hit up the shops and stuff.

I have a flight booked, but no hotel.. Where's good to stay? Cheaper, the better.

How's the prices at Chrome Hearts nowadays? Same as before, or did they kick it up with the weak US dollar? And do they limit the amount you can purchase?

What notable shops? Undefeated, Chrome Hearts I definitely have to go.. but where else? Looking to cop some cool stuff, jewelry, design pieces, etc.

    Ways to get around?

    Food places to try? (Cheap)

  11. Curious, does it take a special skill or machine to alter leather jackets?

I have an Isaac Sellam leather jacket I've been taking around to a few places, and they all told me that they either don't have the skill to do it or don't have the equipment to do it...

  12. that Hayley Mei brand looks allright. kinda like a cooler, less hyped, happier version of alex+chloe, and its pretty cheap too so it might sell well.

Edit: Also try a brand called Erica Aneberg (sp?). They i saw them at HUB in scottsdale and they had some cool stuff. It's mostly girls but some of the pendants can pass off as unisex. Although its all silver so it can be somewhat expensive (around 90 dls per necklace i think).

Yep, took a look at their site earlier. Their silver price is not too bad, but the gold pieces (around 500) is too high a price point for my target market that I'm aiming approximately 80-250USD. Anyways, still waiting on a response from them :)

Actually, I have been trying to find lots of girls' and ladies fashion jewelry as well, as I'm expecting to stock between 75% to 80% of products as women's line.

  13. Wow, Chronicles of Never looks really good. I love how it looks, how it's weathered, how it looks like each piece experienced a lot. I get the feeling it won't sell... but still, I like it :D

They're carried by IT (HK) though... would they really be interested in selling to a new start-up like mine?

Worth a try anyways, I will e-mail them tomorrow, as well as a couple of the other ones you guys mentioned :)

  14. Hey guys,

I've been planning for the last few months to open up an online storefront for designer jewelry, and working on the behind the scenes stuff to try and make it happen (securing bank loans, market research, etc.) and have talked to a couple designers to try and bring in stuff. Now that everything infrastructure-wise is set up already, I wanna talk to many more. So, of course I want to ask you guys what you think is worthwhile to bring in... yeah, it does vary depending on your own taste, but let's just say your own preference.

Of course, a new upstart can't bring in any big names such as Chrome Hearts :D I talked to the dudes from Ugo Cacciatori earlier, and unfortunately, they aren't willing for new retailer that's online, either.
