  2. Goods is "thuggish" whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?? Are you intimidated? ha

GOODS is all good, also a lot of good used record shops up on Pike/Broadway. But for the more "metro" dude look go down to belltown and that area. It's not "thuggish" enough down there.

Some good neighborhoods to check are:

    Freemont

    Broadway/Capitol Hill

    Ballard

    U-District (the Ave)

    Belltown

Eats: Tia Toms - the Ave

Jai Tai - Freemont, Belltown, Broadway

B&O Bistro for desert - up near Broadway

La Campagne in Pikes Place - expensive/good French cuisine

Wil Ginger near Benaroya Hall - quasi-asian cuisine

    Museums:

As the SAM just recently closed for renovations what you have left is

Experience Music Project - cool but slightly overpriced

Henry Art Gallery on UW campus - small but very nice gallery of rotating shows

Asian Art Museum down near the seattle center

  3. right now I have reservations for 4 nights in Berlin around the Final because I know I'm going whether I get tickets or not. At the moment I'm waiting to find out if I got tickets for Gelsenkirchen, Nuremberg, Frankfurt and Munchen.

  4. After posting a response to the Berlin thread and getting a comment on the WC and the superfuture crowd, I agreed that there should be a thread dedicated to the WC 06 Deutschland for all of us SFers.

Post any question, tips, places to stay, eat, party during the WC. I'll see you all in Berlin!!!!!!!!!

  5. In nurnberg you have: Terra X (take a left down the red light street, after you come up from the train station), you have Denim Deluxe for mad expensive Evisu and designer type ish.

Then on the main shopping drag (Footlocker, levi's store, etc.) you have some really good denim shops (forgot the name, but there's a chain with about three shops on this street) you can find Edwin, Replay, G-Star, Levis LVC, Sevens, Meltin Pot, Lee, etc. REALLY GOOD SELECTION.

Also, make your way to the Sport Schek, Adidas store and Worl. Worl has a crazy good selection of gear on the basement level. Then go through the front of sport schek and out the back into a really narrow street. On this street there is 1 of 2 denim deluxe stores (evisu, paul frank, stussy, etc.) and some other gangster store.

There's a lot of information but Nurnberg does have a good selection of ish if you take the time to wander around.

Also recommend the modern art gallery if you have a minute (nothing compared to the new one in Munchen, but good for a break from the street).

    Peace

  6. Summer of 06 the spot to go is Deutschland for the WC. The place to be in the world on the days surrounding July 9th will be Berlin. Obviously not too exotic if that's what you're looking for, but the WC back in Europe - come on. But, if you're confind to August & don't mind skipping the shops for once, check out Croatia. Specifically, Split, Dubrovnik and the surrounding isles. peace

  7. word, Berlin is roughly a 4,5 hour ICE ride from Nurnberg. Munchen is about 1.5 hour RE ride from Nurnberg. Nurnberg isn't too bad, but obviously it's no Berlin. Southern (Bavarian) Germany is a diff. style from the North. Def. recommend hitting up Munchen for a taste of the south.

While in Berlin, however, HIGHLY recommend staying at the Circus Hostel (there are two, stay at the one in the Uni District w/the bar). I'll be there for the WC FINAL, baby! Already got the reservations. holla

  8. If anyone out there has stories/rumors/anecdotes about the beginnings of good old Supreme I would love to hear them. Let the haters hate, but I love the brand but being out in the NW and only getting to NYC every once in a while I don't really know too much about the history of the company.

So, if anyone has knowledge on who the owners are, who the 'famous-in-Japan' staff is/was, where they're from, when the brand began, the connections to Tokyo and elsewhere in the world, as well as the whole "RETAIL MAFIE" connections, I would love to know. Again, haters go elsewhere, only positive vibes here.

    Grazie & Ciao
