  1. Anyone else here still wearing the contest jeans? Here are mine. They're in need of a knee replacement, but they still have some life left in them.

My BigBros are just starting to hit their stride. They're being shelved until I can get them shortened and maybe a crotch reinforcement.

  2. well, for me, the specs i covet most (no particular order):

mid-weight fabric, tubular body, "blind" stitching on hem and sleeves, fairly athletic cut (not huge but not skinny)

I don't doubt this, but I have to say I was pretty disappointed with Velva Sheen's standard, two-pack crewneck shirt (can't remember if I posted that here or not). I've handled their henleys though and they feel beautiful, as if they're made by a different company.

  3. I can't tell from the pics...do these t's have side seams or are they tubular?

    Heirloom Indigo-Dyed T-Shirt and Henley

From Heirloom we have a set of indigo yarn-dyed t-shirts, one is a pocket tee and the other is a two-button short sleeved henley.  These are available now at all Self Edge stores and in our online store under the Self Edge brand.

  4. i think what you're referring to was the change in pocket style between his last two releases (Big Bro 2s & the ROY tapered)

one of the major differences was the pocket design

Yeah I think those look good. Pictured are the size 33 right?

Question; did I read somewhere that a newer Roy jean will feature a more traditional back pocket sillouette/stitching?

  5. Would you mind comparing the fit to the KS? Thanks in advance.

Speaking of leg twist, I've noticed a TON of it on the RT1002.

Not sure if it's the cut or the denim itself, but three wears in and they already twisted a good 90 degrees on the left leg.

I'll try to get some pictures once in back in town, really considering entering them into the DWC.

  6. Self Edge New York just received the Made in USA PF Flyers (black and white). These run true to PF sizing, available via phone order or in-store only, $155 (plus shipping unless bought with something else in the store that includes free shipping).

SELA will have these on Monday or Tuesday. PF is telling me there will be no restocks of these.

thanks. when you say no restocks, do you mean this particular color/fabric/style, or do you mean no future runs of US-made PF Flyers in general? i seem to recall talk of additional colors down the road.

  7. Sorry, my fat fingers accidentally neg repped you. :(

It's very frustrating that there has been no info whatsoever from PF themselves.

    no sweat...

it's not like PF Flyers have been completely silent; they were showing off the shoes at recent trade shows

however, there have been no official release details from the company (release date, stockiest, $, etc.), which is insane if they are indeed releasing them this Spring (especially if it's within the next couple weeks).

contacting a PF rep via the website will get you no information whatsoever, but that's not necessarily

    unexpected

  8. here's the heart of LVC's problem (at least in my opinion);

to the average (non-denimhead) consumer willing to spend a bit more on jeans, paying $250+ for a pair of levi's is crazy when you can get a pair for the same price (or perhaps cheaper) from a more "trendy" brand

to the denimhead, paying $250 for a pair of levi's that aren't technically even manufactured by levi and have many shortcomings in both historical accuracy and, most importantly, quality is crazy when there are better options out there in the market

the same goes for their other products as well...why would i pay $90 for a US-made LVC t-shirt with a crappy side seam and flimsy fabric when I can pick up a 2-pack of velvasheen t's for $70?
