  1. yeah you know it all.......... i'm a fan, a big one as well, and i just explained the difference in how we think about this game. i don't care about the result i said, this came out a bit wrong when i read it back, i meant: i want to see good soccer, and that for me is about technique, creativity and from there on you score goals and win matches. and i meant, i don't want a team to just go for a result the easy way like liverpool did. it's 1000000 x more difficult to play barca's way, and that's the way i like it. i mean that your style of play has yielded more results through out soccer history, that's because it's the easy way. soccer for me is not just about winning, for you it is, that's fine that's your opinion i don't care. i care more about the beauty of soccer. that's the thing that i value first, from there on you go and try to win your matches.

if you've read my first post, i support barca first, that's my team. psv i just support in holland because i was born in that region. i'll be the first to admit that they play in the exact way i just explained i hate. in holland i enjoy watching az a lot more, but what can i say, when you grow up with psv as the best team in the region, that's who you support.

and shut up about me not understanding the game, i just have a different view. i've played soccer all my life and i watch a lot of matches live and all the rewinds. i know the players, the teams, the tactics, and i understand your view. so don't give me that bullshit, i know what i'm talking about.

  2. ronaldinho doesn't defend because he's that good, he's useless at defending anyway and this way he can use all his energy to create something and decide a match.

all this discussion i think is because of a different view on the game, i love skilled players and i enjoy soccer when players have amazing control of the ball, for me that's the beauty of it. that's no doubt because i'm dutch, this stuff is in our blood, this is just the way we think about soccer. i think skill and technique are the things soccer is all about. i don't care about fysical strength or whatever, because anyone can do that, if you put a bunch of strong men in a team and teach them how to mark, you have a defence. it's a sad trend these days that many teams only try to not concede a goal. this is easy. but for a team to be able to dominate a match for most of the 90 minutes, that's where the true challenge lies. i love barca because they were the first team after ajax in '95 who won the champions league with truely genius technical ability and creativity. real came close the years they won, but not as good as ajax back then and barca last year.

there's just different ways of playing soccer, i think if you look back, the liverpool way is the most effective way no doubt. look at us in holland, in '74 and '78 we were the best team in the world, by a long stretch, but we didn't win the world cup, because of our own arrogance.

i don't care about the result, i love this way of playing soccer and for me that's the thing that i enjoy about soccer.

( i do know btw that in holland i support psv, but that's because i was born in that region, they do play ugly:P)

this is what soccer is all about:

  3. hell yeah! i've been saying it since the begining of this thread. BARCA IS OVERATED! great individual play wins you nothing!

glad to see LFC show barca how to play with heart.

ok then explain the primera division wins and champions league last year....

liverpool are a bunch of fucking fighters who have 0 technique, they play the perfect form of anti-football. all they did whole match was kick barcelona players and try to injure every barca player cause they were to fast and to good to play football against. they won by two personal mistakes by barca defenders, and that's pure luck. barca was the better team, though absolutely not in a good period, but still. rijkaard made some stupid tactical errors to like letting motta play and later putting andres iniesta in front of the defence in stead of behind the strikers, and eto'o wasn't there, messi has no rhytm. next match that will all be different. and again liverpool, it hurts the eyes to look at those players, bellamy, pennant and gerrard excluded. all the other players can't even control a ball normally, especially sissoko, how did he get to be a professional players....... it's all fysical strength and a lot of fouls. but hey, that's a strategy as well, but know one can possibly enjoy watching a bunch of buzz headed fighters that don't have any form of technique over a barca, where all players have extraordinary skills and creativity.

so i hope next match eto'o will be back and when messi and ronni are on form, there's no stopping barca. and liverpool only scored because of personal mistakes, that's 100% luck, they couldn't create even 1 chance with playing football.

oh and deco's freekick should've gone in, woow what a great one that was.

other matches, queresma was genius with porto:) and all other teams a bit dissapointing, no one really played great.

  4. haha yeah good luck to you liverpool fans, you'll need all the luck in the world to prevent barca from scoring more then 3 goals. a 3-nothing victory for barca i predict. ronni, saviola and messi against those 4 planks of wood in l'pools defence, that's not even a challenge:p

oh and great job by psv(H)

  5. FUCK VALENCIA,

2 ugly counters and only 30% possesion but beating barca 2-1, fucking ref. was on valencia's side:S ronni got tackled like 5 times near the box but only got a free kick once and i hope albelda dies a painful and slow death, whole match all he did was kick at barca players and gave deco the red card ...

on a more positive note, ajax drawing against excelsior haha while psv won and az drawed as well, so things looking up again for psv.

hsv with a brilliant raffa vd. vaart defeating bayers 2-0, great result, and the vd. vaart move taking the ball with his heel past 2 stupefied defenders and nearly scoring it, pure genius.

also saw a fantastic fa cup match, preston north end vs. man. city, great match, brilliant ambiance in the stadium and a very fast paced match, not very good, but real english sunday afternoon soccer, love it.

but to close this weekend: FUCK VALENCIA

  6. ^no, cause in scotland people live for football, all the stadiums are always sold-out, regardless of the match, that's the real genuine football ambiance, and there unique in the world this way

best free kicktakers of last decade: pierre van hooijdonk, juninho, beckham, zidane

  7. ajax got killed by werder, fucking lindebergh what a stupid moron and he's supposed to be the experienced player

az drawing in a fantastic match against fenerbahce, they should have won though, when they really tried they were 10x as good as fener, but az still lacking in defense.

  9. ^ you wish man;) still 3 points clear, and ajax luck won't last forever, they're rapidly using everything atm. ado was very unlucky conceding the goal with the mistake by the keeper, else they would've still had the spirit to fight for the game.

btw what do you think of our play-off system? i think it's fucking retarded and defeating the whole purpose of the league.

    silver dior japan jeans 19cm

    fucked up dolce&gabbana

  11. ^haha thnx for those

so to catch up on past weekend: Ronaldinho on top form again, woow he was good. great free kick, powerful header and some great moves including the assist on giuly who somehow managed to get a header over an empty goal from about 50 cm.

arsenal-wigan, great match. wigan looking good and keeping the 1-0 lead for a long time. henry did great after that and haha making fun of the wigan goalie after the equaliser. and a great pass by adebayor which led to the 2-1 by rosicky.

in holland, ajax very lucky, again, against den haag, 2-1 victory, huntelaar finally scoring again. psv with a very bad performance and a draw against sparta, good goal by medunjanin from sparta.

oh and beckham scoring a nice free kick and vantheman with his 11th to give real a win for a change.

man utd then, rooney with a brilliant move, great control when recieving the ball and then send two defenders in the wrong direction (and headbutting eachother haha) but missing the finish, good game though and rooney's assist on fletcher was good to.

  12. ^ yeah but ronaldo back then had the moves as well, he still scores a lot, i mean scored like 104 in 180 matches for real, that's a lot. but nowadays he's just waiting for a chance to come to him cause he's to fat to move...:S

that charge those bastards are trying to put on hiddink is outrageous...

watched netherlands -21 last night against russia, we're gonna win the ec again this summer(H) and yeah mourinho is definetly going, he's one of the best, maybe the best managers in the world though, as long as he's not going to madrid he'll do fine again with a new team:)

  13. @swisloc

you're right about zidane, genius as well, man that guy had it all to, but he had kind of a boring personality, which is in one way good, because he was never involved in any kind of scandal, but still i'd much rather see a ronaldinho with the smile, he's just a more likeable guy. and about him not performing on the biggest stage, come on in champions league he's as dominant in as in la liga, he pretty much gave barca the champions league. best example the goal against chelsea, although the (undeserved) got eliminated by chelsea that year. and on wc 2002 he was very young, but scored the free kick against england! and wc 2006 that idiot coach put him on as a sort of defensive midfielder who has to divide the play like pirlo, instead of putting him on in the free attacking role like barca, that's his best position imo.

messi will be a legend as well, 18 and being able to play like that....made argentina under 21 world champion on his own, greatest talent atm.

tisswat, i doubt an italian club will win, and i definetly hope not. i think italian football has been seriously pathetic in recent years, i watch in every week and the teams pretty much suck, there's noo quality left except for inter and a few good players at milan. just look at the transfers of the past 3/4 years, every good players went from italian league to spain (zidane) and every great talent didn't want to go there. and now milan buy the 5th striker of real madrid to help them out.....it's just sad. and there's even more bad news, i mean the death of the police guy last weekend and all the troubles with the ultra's and organised crime '' supporter'' groups. and if you look at the matches, there's never any one attending, delle alpi is always 75% empty and is going to be reduced in capacity. italy is a football nation in crisis at the moment and the premier ligue and primera division will rule football from now on.

  14. Who btw in u're opinion is the best player in the world right now?

Mine without doubt Ronaldinho. In him i see so many great players from old times combined. Like the one brazilian commentator noted: he's got the unpredictability of garrincha, the speed of romario, the intelligence of zico etc. etc.

and he is like that. he decides matches almost every week, he's got a unbelievable technique (who else could've scored that goal against chel$ki!) he's got the creativity, he can score with his head, he's fast etc. etc.

==> he's right up there with pele, cruijf, maradonna, best imo. and the best thing: the smile, it just makes you laugh when u see the guy play or talk or whatever, that huge pleasure in living, amazing:)

so enough with the love song there......

on the adu thing: one big media hype. soccer in the us will never be big i'm afraid, it's just something they don't get, there's no history and in soccer history is everything.
