  1. Comparatively speaking (if you are looking at other major cities like nyc, shanghai, etc) but as others mentioned in this thread its in the bay area which allows for a greater diversity in a pretty small traveling distance

I think it is hard to define what makes a city palatable anyway as it varies heavily and is definitely not in direct correlation with amount of people/things. Dumb mags often act like we can be ubuquitous but how many taco trucks do you really need if you have one or two good ones?

  2. Agreed, I have a ton of friends who moved back to LA and are loving life but their career situation isn't as good. It's pretty easy to pick a career path up in the bay area and stick with it, pretty easy to bounce around between companies too. Only problem I have is the benefits are pretty minimal considering the opportunities that can be had in other cities (jobs permitting). Shanghai for example I can live like a king on the cheap and continue career development, but in the end Shanghai is not San Francisco and I do kinda feel at home here.

I have a buddy who moved to Portland and extended family that lived there previously, and while it is a great city it feels like diet-SF or SF junior. There's something about smaller cities that I find myself growing in and out of too fast (Seattle being a great example after living there for 5 years). There's a lot of cool things to be had, but in the end it just feels small in scale compared to SF or NYC

    SF is a small city....

  3. >no one cares

    >posts about it

Are you stupid or don't you know how "no one cares" is typically used as a response to a pathetic attempt at attention grabbing and meme-ism? Go jerk off to some trap music.

You're the kind of retarded internet kid who finds Kardashian selfies to be culturally significant, Jerry Saltz is prematurely senile, what's your excuse?

  4. I got the tie dye Liberty print cap because it is ugly as sin. I wish they'd just re-edit large duffle bags cause my old one is from 2007 and has travelled a lot so it is beatup.

  5. for me, sufu changed with the proliferation of DSLRs

it felt more spontaneous and fresh with shitty cell phone pics

i don't exactly walk around with a DSLR and am therefore less likely to take a photo of myself to post on the forum

i am hardly a fashion plate now, besides, but that's another matter

Didn't sufu go from DSLR or at least reg. cameras to using the latest smartphones with a "good-enough" camera included?

  6. Any lining in particular? Rick has a very unique fit and coupled with down its kinda in a class of its own. As for the cheaper rick models there are several that can probably give a similar look, hell even topshop may have something. Nylon magazines latest issue has ma-1 for girls maybe some ideas there:

Other brands that probably have fashion bombers for girls: acne, sandro

Shad,I asked in the japmag thread but it seems to be dead: link to this, only got the one from sept...notreally up to date on magsites though...

  7. It doesn't matter if you like London or not, you have to go there every few yrs to experience its rapidly changing landscape and uncivilized vomiting toothy drunkards.

I mean you know the drill, shopping + eating + galleries + clubs will be interesting even if the city is not your favourite one.

December is fine in Italy or Spain but a little bit stupid in Stockholm. Not sure why you’d want to do that. If you insist maybe do Stockholm/Gothenburg for some variety ir Iceland to really get that desolated winter feel.

  8. ^ Think I lived in UK for too long, where people are pathologically polite about things.

I remember complaining about my food at a restaurant once, and when I said I would like to speak to the manager, the rest of the restaurant became pin-drop silent all looking at the dude who was actually complaining about something. Didn't realise 'it just isn't done' in the UK, as my friends later informed me.

It is not a matter of politeness but of having a food culture, which the UK lacks. I was in Canada and recently asked to have my wine changed because it was corked and people looked at me funny like this wasn't possible, eventually had to change it but maybe three people taste it before agreeing.

  9. Forums as a medium for fashun or whatever are disappearing anyway, now is time for the instantaneity and picture-heavy content of Instagram. If you need me I’ll be looking at girls in tight jogging outfits tagging themselves #fashion #nike #gymlyfe #luxury #adidas #fit4lyfe #eatpraylove #ibiza #yeezus #declineofwesterncivilization

The future belongs to corny white girls and reality tv stars with sex tapes.
