You mean the Levis Can't Bust 'em for $12,500?

Serge, I wonder how to stop wearing the crotch. The cause of abrasion is, I believe, walking around, because the jeans have a slim fit. Appart from that, I do approx. 100 squats a day, don't know if that's causing the crotch to wear out, what do you think?

really? didn't think apc was popular. What details?

wouldn't the back pocket rivets scratch surfaces? that the reason why Levi's invented hidden rivets? why do some brands still use it? specially female brands like notify, denimbirds... interesting.

awesome sears! they must have been worth the price! the first ones are great too, the paint looks very natural on them! I like it.

So selvege material is more durable? Is it thicker, more/less comfortable?
Some say denim can be produced the same way being non-selvage, but I find selvage to be much more compact, and therefore more durable. The thickness and confort depends on the specific brand. APC has a thin, textured right-hand twill, which is not as soft as left-hand but is more resistant, and it is confortable. Any of those brands on TNT Blu, mentioned by triniboy27, should be good.

Washed or unwashed? Do you care for selvage? unwashed jeans last more, especially more than Diesel and Seven. I'm no denim expert but I recommend APC (good price and top quality/fit), Helmut Lang, Nudie. These have a fair price and reflect my personal preference on minimal design. For washed, distressed denim I'm not the right person to answer you. I like Rogan's wash a bit but I prefer raw denim.

The crumpled paper effect is nice. Any thoughts on how to do it at home?

Absinthium, a new jeans label apparently run by two girls from Italy. Hand-dyed, hand-stitched, prices ranging from 450-1100 euros. Available in a boutique in Paris called Shimji.

maybe it happens that italian selvage is cheaper so to compensate the higher price of production in Sweden.

"We want to pay tribute to swedish jeans manufacturing, by producing this first limited edition of straight sven in sweden. The factory in the small village of hökerum carries on a long tradition that goes back to the late 50's. We are proud to present the result. Straight sven is a straight fit in italian dry selvage denim. The limited edition is recognizedby the swedish flag stitched to the waist band. Each pair comes with a book about swedish jeans history."
that's what it says on the Straight Sven Dry Selvage Limited Edition box.

Mine stay the way they are at the bottom, it will probably turn into a nice fading effect.

In Brazil they cost like 3 dollars. The cheapest thing (as to the price at least)
