  1. Recently purchased LVC 501 1947 model unwashed  (made in Turkey). size 33w 34l

After soaking it only shrank 1 inch in the leg with zero leg twist

now compared to my cone mills 1966 lvc which shrank 2 inch in the leg with decent leg twist also the denim feels way more sturdy. and it is also 12 oz denim which is the same as the made in turkey 1947 also 12 oz.

I have given it a second soak with warm water today will see if it shrinks a little more and if there is any leg twist at all.

I am disappointed with LVC made in turkey last time i buy the made in turkey LVC 501. I have yet to try the made in japan when they stopped making it in the usa.

-Avoid 501 LVC made in Turkey-.

i am going back to made in japan repro of the 501 from  brands like TCB, and Wharehouse.

  2. NEWS ALERT:

just purchased LVC 501 STF 1947 from American Classics London today and was told by the kind lady who served me that LVC line may get  discontinued. So please stock up

my pair is mad in turkey which is a little let down as i would prefer the Japanese made ones. But never the less i got one and also have my few years old 1966 cone mills STF

in mint condition which will get stored away and im going to start wearing my 1947 once iv done the first soak.

my usual size is waist 32 almost all brands. even the LVC 1966 i got the W32. as for 1947 I had to size up to Waist 33.

So if anyone is getting LVC 501 1947 size up atleast one from say nudies,Lee or regular levis 501.

I know Japanese brands are better quality than LVC, but I just love how Levis Jeans fit (at least on me).

My 2 best fitting jeans are LVC (absolute number one being the 1947). I love my japanese jeans too, but they never nail the fit as Levis does, especialy in the butt area.

Japanese jeans tend to look "flat" (flat butt, flat thigh etc.) The Levis gets more "in shape" around the body/legs (if that makes sense), resulting in a better, more sexy silhouette.

I completely agree. LVC 501 can't be beat for fit. my momotaros give of the flat ass look even though i have decent atleast average glutes, then when i get into my lvc 1966 it's a whole different look also how the legs go around. my wharehouse denim gives off that levis look but not as good but pretty close, the lot 900. too bad i sized down on them

  4. Anyone know which LVC 501 has deep front pockets. i have a pair of 1966 which i though was the perfect denim for me in terms of a classic fit. but when i put my phone in my front pocket it digs into my hip when i sit down which is very annoying to the point i have stored them away and gone back to my edwin pair. i trying to find out of the 1947 has deeper pockets even. I do not have this issue with my momotaro or edwin.

  5. I have already posted this on N&F blog but why not posted on the blog dedicated to chore coats. Below are two of my denim chore coats Lee Loco 101 11oz I think, Lee has slightly slimmer arms, N&F has way more room in the arm.

and N&F 9oz purchased from online website Jean store.co.uk.

I have worn the Lee jacket a few times but naked and famous is still new below are some pic.

Just to help others out both jackets are M size and i usually weigh 160 pounds but here i have lost around 10 pounds hence why both jackets look slightly big. I also considered small but i feel like small will fit great only when i lose weight other than that when i put on a few pound from the gym it will be too tight. I'm a medium in all my other jackets every time i sized down i paid the price.

  6. First purchase from N&F.

I was after a chore coat a little shorter than my Lee 101 which is nice but can sometimes make me look a bit wierd.

Below I have pic of both of the pieces. I have lost 1 stone of muscle lately as I have not been going to the gym so the fit will get better once I’m back to training. It is a 9oz denim the Lee is between 10.5-11

I am 5 9 and weigh 168 pounds but since I lost weight here I'm around 12 pounds lighter.

let me know what you guys think I’m loving the detail although I do wish it was 11oz-12oz got a deal on jeanstore website for £111.00 usually £180.00 I think.

On a side note does anyone know if the naked and famouse 9oz mainline selvedge shrink at all?

I know sanforized fabric does not shrink much but if anyone knows about the fabric it would be helpful, as I'm in between two sizes if i went for small i would risk it becoming a little small mainly the sleeve length and by going for my usual size- medium it looks on the bigger side due to the style of cut on their chore coats. on the tag it says may shrink upto 3 percent and I'm hoping it does.

  7. Just some update pic of momotaro 0305-v size 32.

still hasn’t faded much but that’s ok for me. I don’t mind slow fading jeans. Was trying on some jackets. And took a few photos in the changing room. They fit a bit better now vs when I first got them as I have gained 1 stone weight and have been using leg press at the gym still have work to do though as I need to make them tight.

    sorry for the bad light

  8. So this is the waist stretch of my momotaro 0305-v 15.7oz denim ( sanforized fabric)

after wearing 2 months mainly weekend I can safely say there is a full stretch of upto 1 inch in the waist. As long as the denim is snug it will stretch out. There is a lot of talk of how momotaro’s do not stretch but I can conclude that is not true for the sanfirized versions of their jeans.

as for people buying wrong size do not expect Edwin jeans type of stretch where they stretch nearly 2 inches. Expect LVC type of stretch. If the waist fits snug on the tighter side then they will stretch out 1 inch with wear. Sometimes I find people size down expecting the stretch to make the size correct. IMO that’s not the way to buy denim, it should fit comfortable from day 1 but a very snug fit, the stretch u get just adds to the comfort.  Below I have pic of the waist where u can see proof that the waist does stretch. U also get 0.25 in the thigh and overall the top block will also loosen up. The calves area u get little to no stretch as there isn’t much pressure there.

the shrink after first soak is very minimal to none.
I am not talking about the unsanforized version here, for that I’ll have to buy a pair and see. even though i had g004mb that one i sized down wrongly.

  9. Just a few more pics of my 0306-v fit pic

only worn a few days still waiting to really break them in properly as they are super stiff even after soaking. Was worried initially about waist being a tad too small but glad I did not size up to 33.I can already tell there will be a bit of stretch in the waist but also seems tough. There isn't a lot of detail as it’s taken using iPhone 7 sadly. Still trying to fill out the legs at the gym. I think in about another 2 months with a bit more mass on my legs they will be perfect. In a way this pair of jeans will be telling how my leg gains are coming along.

Yes Momos are a tough stretch particularly the final quarter inch

the Momo stretching process made me question the tradition of starting at 1 inch less than your waist

I never go one down from my size but buy the size that fits snug and able to do the top button with a slight effort. If there was a size between 32 and 33 it would be perfect but the little stretch I get from 32 should do the trick all I need is 0.5 inch. It’s the sanforized momotaro and they do stretch a little. I also have momotaro g004mb in unsanforized  denim and that pair did not stretch past even a cm or 2 but i also sized down one stupidly.

Being a 15.7 oz denim I am sure it will take a bit longer for the waist to stretch.

I have a pair of momotaro 0405-V 15.7 oz for £160 only worn once not even a full days worth of wear soaked once to get the shrinkage out of the way. I have come to accept i got one size too big so just want to get rid of them purchased from Rivet and Hide London. near zero fades almost new. still very stiff and a second soak can be done by the buyer. will post some pics this week. if interested please message me on the forum or email me on [email protected].

i cannot post and based in London and happy for anyone to take a look zero pressure to buy.

I am near 5'10" and weigh 160 pounds

Sorry my mistake it’s W33 L32 hemmed at rivet and hide chain stitch

the actual measurements are on rivet and hide website. these denim did not shrink at all and lost minimal indigo. I never soak any of my denim more than 20 mins.

expect 0.5-1 inch stretch depending on how much stress is on the waist band.

here’s some photos taken in my room hopefully the lighting is ok. 30 mins ago

  13. @Lalafufu

no clean bulk as my belly is on the bigger side ( need them abs back) so will bulk with good quality whole foods and focus on legs to add mass.
Need to focus on mid section so I sadly can’t do a dirty bulk.I’m hoping I get a little stretch on the waist. Judging by my 0405-v model which stretched 0.5 inch in the waist which led it to become too big. I now need that for my 0306-v. 0.5-1 inch is more than enough for me.

I would expect any EU Lee 101 jeans to have a rise at least 3/4" lower than the same size LVC '66s. That's just an estimate pulled out of my head, so I would give it 1/4" either way based on the estimate.

thanks for the info helps me out a lot. looks like i will have to pop into a lee store and try a pair out to see if the lower back rise works for me.

I see the Levi’s UK webstore is selling the rigid 47/54/55 models for £210 now. I’m sure they were only £170-180 a few weeks ago! Aeroleather are selling them for £170 too.

what a rip off at that price not long ago i got my cone denim LVC 1966 from american classics for £160 made in usa. now not made in usa and levis are selling it at £210

what a joke. and its 12oz denim

  16. This is a recent pick up off lee rider jacket regular lee EU line

it’s not a part of the 101 line but still pretty decent quality light weight. Feels like a 10 oz jacket will be wearing in the coming summer months alternating between this and my chore jacket.

I also have a chambray from lee regular line which I will also post soon. I took a close up of the rivet detail on the sleeve and pocket as well  as the jacket itself

sorry for the lighting poor image quality once again

Rear rise will depend on size. There is significant manufacturing variation from run to run as well, IME.

There have normally been no truly high rise jeans in the EU Lee 101 catalog's standard offerings. Their highest rise cuts are still merely mid-rise jeans, barely hitting, or coming in just under, a 12" front rise, even in the larger sizes, like 36.

In the past few seasons, they have put out a few more "vintage-inspired" pieces, so these might have slightly higher rises. But the typical 101Z, Riders, and 101Ss are nowhere near high rise.

thanks for the info. so i can't expect the back rise of 101s to be close to the LVC 1966 is what your saying.

thanks for the posting these, 101z look great i will add a 101z or 101s for my next pair for sure. personally im more of a button fly guy but if the front rise is too low on 101 s i will choose 101z
