  1. Are we expecting another release in the next week or two with additional jacket/baselayers/pants?

I really want to love some of the new pieces like the J29-PX, but I completely agree with the above, if it were a Schoeller DS with a polar lining I think it would hit the marks, but looking like a liner takes away from the the blazer construction especially with the thread tension on PX. It's a great late 80's blazer vibe and I'm into it, but I think I'm just waiting for the LA6B-AD...

Thanks to all for the leads, I'm hoping tri-point is feeling nice and wants to pass some my way... definitely seems like getting a nice copy is gonna be tough since I'm not gonna have Güth & Wolf mill some 3/8" nylon ribbon and there is nothing like the elastic I've seen on the market, such is life?

Also stoked on a new grocery tote I made and will post up soon, full Güth & Wolf and x42~

Also another nice supply source when it comes to Güth & Wolf webbing

  3. Does anyone know of a source for the 20mm ladder locks used on the jacket slings? For that matter any leads on where to source a similar 3/4" or 20mm elastic webbing and the Olive Grosgrain that'd be mint. Trying to make a decent replica since Acr is evil and doesn't include a jacket sling with the AK models, but they do with the KM???

  4. I usually avoid wearing acr to work as I’m a metalsmith, but got some nicely worn in p24s and have been enjoying some design time as of late

bags a repro i made with x10 to see how the cotton duck wears, it’s very much a sleeper as it looks like a canvas military bag on the outside, full laminate on the inside.

    otherwise j47a-ws, ss-j2, p24-s

This might be a stupid question, but what is the overall cost of the J36-S stateside (including shipping and customs)?

Looking into this myself, €1338 + €45 for ups + ~€83 for adjusted HTS if I did the math on that right... so $1656?

  6. to add to the sources shelbyoutdoor.com is a place you can get DrySkin (long fuzz not as cropped as acronyms fabric)

also lil apron project, few months of wear.

  7. It’s interesting that the whole conversation is strictly about how water proof the jacket is, shouldn’t it be how breathable it is? The J36 is appealing because it’s cotton, something you can wear like a light weight denim biker jacket and the like. You’re not wearing it for the rainy days so much as the hot or muggy mist days. I didn’t end up copping because it seemed excessive when I got a J47WS last year that takes care of that need for light weight and breathabillity (thought you have to baby the shit out of it compared to the Stotz that you want to wear in and patina), but the Stotz seems so appealing for the right seasons. I imagine it fitting perfectly into a daily wear for cold morning comutes before the suns warmed up the city and the windy walks home when the sun has set because you’ve gone late at the office. Maybe that’s just me, but it’s supposed to be 76°F today, but it was 50° on my walk to work with a 10% chance of rain.

My question is does it not have the little elastic cord loops for attaching a base layer? I had thought that’s how the sleeve hitch is used.

That is not my main concern, I have nothing against anything made in China. The main problem is that I have to pay around 30% more for duties if items are made in China vs tax-free for made in EU garments.

Do American buyers have any concensus on the vat that would be paid state side now?

Forgive me if I missed this in a previous post.

Also is the thought that both factories are producing products, what’s the delineation? Considering all the defects noted in last years releases KTI might help qc standards, just a thought...

So I have been thinking of pulling the trigger on a J47TS-GT jacket that I found in my size, anyone here that owns one or has owned can give any input on the pros and cons compared to the J47A which I have been patiently waiting for to pop up for sale.

I've been really happy with mine, I have been eyeing a J47 variant for a few years and 2018 was the first I could make that happen and I'm generally pretty Impressed with it, there's nothing that really feels missing, it's a complete package. I think the fit is very much a blazer cut, especially if you wear the sling on the outside it's apparent how structured it is.

Basically with the 47ts you lose a pocket. I find 47ts very very tight and almost has no extra room for a liner. Don't really know what else to tell you because you haven't provided much else.

This hasn't been my experience, admittedly 6'4" 185lb wearing a size L, but I have been wearing the 47TS-GT all winter with the J74-PX or the J72-AK and sometime both at the same time and  they fit comfortably with a good range of motion. When wearing both liners in blizzards and deep winter scenarios it felt very snug, but not uncomfortably so.

Definitely a loss of a pocket, but I've been using it with the MZ3 and it has allowed for a great deal of storage. I'll usually keep say a glove in each pocket of the J74, then on the jacket I can use the MZ3 or the napoleon pocket in a pocket for a phone, throw snacks/supplies/gear in the in the internal MZ3, a folding knife in one gravity pocket and a card holder in the other and then I still have the body of the napoleon pocket, the bag strap pocket and shoulder pocket to play with (and I keep the main pockets open for hands or groceries from the bodega) so theres still a LOT of pockets.

Forgive the awkward fit picks, 2 are with both layers on the other is just the J47 and J72

    Deep pockets trademark tech.

I guess I never considered this another pocket, the phone pocket in the cargo pocket is a sewn pocket made of a separately cut piece of fabric, but looking through other specs I realize it's always been counted like that, I just don't know I would count it the same. Thanks for clearing that up though, can't say I wasn't hoping there was some secret way to slide knee pads into the reinforced knee or something :laugh2:

  11. The P24A is listed as having 14 pockets, are pant legs pockets? Cause I count 12, every once in a while I check again and either I'm incapable of fathoming 13 and 14, or the copy is a joke that flew over my head.

If there are a pair of multidimensional voids I'm missing please enlighten me

  12. So I was curious to know peoples favored webbing suppliers, I just recently moved from the UK to the states and it seems like the right time to play around with different webbings. Most berry compliant milspec weaves I've found lack the more luxurious qualities I would look for and I've also been finding that some of the webbings I've found in an olive drab are dyed nylon with white cores causing fading in bent areas (for instance at the contact points of a cam lock). I'm debating if I should shell out for custom weaves or tracking down the supplier for acrnm and the like. If anyone has any insight or opinions I'd be interested to dive deaper into the world of webbing! Cheers

Little example of what I've been toying with here
