all you dudes paying 1k+ for acr but bitch about duties. LOL brokebois

Well some people don't want to pay an extra $1-$3xx for something they already fully paid for

So with the upcoming LF1's—size down by half or full size?

Same sizing as regular AF1. It's a pretty much a re-release of the ACR LF1 except in all white

Can't have it all.  When you're restricted by a lower pricepoint (relative to ACR) something has got to give.

I'm pretty sure people who view ACG as its own brand wouldn't mind paying more for an actual premium quality pant instead of a pant that's halfway there to please consumers who view ACG as a budget acronym alternative

  4. Man for the past 2 fw seasons with ACG their fabric choices for the pants have been horrid. Relaunch on FW16 cotton wool, loses colour so quickly and shrinks quite a bit even after taking good care of it, FW17 the cotton elastane blend does not breath whatsoever, feels stiff and uncomfortable against the skin (yes even after breaking it in it's still relatively stiff), and yet it can't handle the cold. ACG has pretty good cuts and designs but is often restricted by their fabric choices and colour.

Any fit pics of the arris ? size reference and size of the jacket. Im looking to use it for winter shell with my down jacket under, looking to see how it fit before and if you guys also use it in the winter with a coat under ?

So you gave up on trying to finesse an achrom from the warranty department?

I just receive an email from arcteryx veilance warranty. They said I could take the arris jacket wich is 925$CAN . But there is no stock in size medium black. I would like to get the acrom but it's pricier than the arris. Anybody have some kind of experience with warranty return ? I don't want to pay the difference beetwen the arris and the Acrom(1300$CAN). I would like to deal with veilance service to have it for a certain price, like 100$ or maybe 150 more or something ? Can they do this, or if I want it I really have to pay the full difference beetween the arris and the acrom if I want it? Because the arris in my size and colour is not in stock.

    Thanks in advance

You should discuss it with the veilance warranty team as opposed to us. What was the problem on your previous jacket?

As in, the fact that Veilance seems to be as popular as ever (as prices continue to rise) only proves that it's fulfills a much-demanded niche as the premium minimalist tech wear option? This is probably true, and by moving to China they can probably produce even more garments and continue to ride their success. Maybe it's just the clothing-equivalent of being priced out of a neighborhood others can afford.

Nonetheless it's frustrating, especially when the garments themselves are so 'industrial,' i.e. it's not like it's hand-woven ultra fine cashmere, the pricing is very arbitrary (or rather, you're paying for the design/execution and god damn if it's not frustrating that no other company seems to be able to make as quality of stuff as Veilance does). Maybe it's just the market working as it should, I guess.

I think you're severely underestimating the production process of Veilance considering the complexities of each pieces' pattern. The garments aren't as industrialized as you may think it is, 1 Patrol Down jacket takes about 15 hours to make (my memory might be hazy but it's within this estimated time).

I understand the reasons a company moves production to China, and I have no doubt they can make Veilance items just as well as the Canadian made stuff. But what I can't jive with is the already insane pricing not getting any kind of relief (let alone a likely increase) when they move production abroad. Not sure how I will feel about this going forward. Disappointing.

I think this goes hand in hand to how Veilance is the epitome of minimalist technical wear for the city and that people are willing to pay the price, take this statement with a grain of salt.

So I've had a few people reach out to me asking for more in-depth AV reviews after I did the Nomin V2 review. Let me know if there are any items in particular you would like. I currently have the Arris, Field, Field OS, Voro and Align pants with me.

If possible the Arris and Field OS I've felt it on hand but always been on the edge about buying it and could never really pull the trigger on those two items.

I need a low top winter sneaker recommendation.

I got a pair of the Nike Gyakusou Fly Knit Free 3.0 (black and slate color way) a couple of years ago and they're my favorite shoe. Understated, simple and not a ton of frills. They hug my flat feet which feels good, and makes them look good. Also, the sole is extra thick, absorbent, and cozy. A point of reference, I got a pair of the Air Mocs last year and those have no support and the material doesn't conform to my feet so they look like pancakes, but the material is warm.

The problem with the Fly Knits is they're not good cold weather shoes so I need something for winter. Ideally something mostly black with an accent color, and possibly a black sole (white would be fine too). I want something simple and with a good sole, without looking like I have dad shoes on. Y-3 seems like it could fit the bill but nothing by them is understated (not into the tubular sole). Also, there are new variations on the Presto which could work, but I'm not sure how warm they would be and didn't people have issue with the tape on the toe coming off. Not into that. Not looking for anything water proof or resistant either, that base I have covered.

Also, not into AF1s or anything that's super bulky.

    Halp.

buy a pair of any low cut leather shoes it'll pretty much do what you want and since you don't like bulkier shoes maybe try CP bball lows? Cp achilles will be too tight for your feet.

I'll be honest. For me, the choice between the V1 and V2 is clear. There are just so many things wrong with the V1. The straps are uncomfortable, pull into your pits, and the ladder lock slips easily. The zippers are cumbersome around corners. The front pouch takes up almost the entire front compartment. The bag collapse on itself and has a terrible sag. I'd get terribly fatigued with just a laptop in it.  The bungee cord can get caught and becomes difficult to fasten. In retrospect, I was never happy with the bag and tried my hardest to like it because it was Veilance. I would buy an Arro 22 or Velaro over the V1 Nomin any day.

@branespload is right. As a high capacity travel bag, the V1 is much better than the V2; however, I would elect to get another bag if you really want a bag to dump stuff. There is very litter organization in the V1. I've never really felt the rattle that everyone talks about. I travel with just a 13" MBA and both the bag and laptop stay firm planted on my back. Then again, I'm not sure what this magnetic feature talking about is. I don't notice it at all.

All in all, if you want an everyday work bag with a plethora of organization features, get the V2. The straps are unreal, and shape sleek and understated. If you want a high capacity travel bag, don't bother with the Nomins. Let me know if you have any questions about what the Nomin can fit.

I just want to chime in my own personal experience with the V1 & V2 nomin since it's mostly opposite of what you've felt. Disclaimer: I like the nomin V1 much more than V2 but I'll do my best to be unbiased.

The V1 flaws you've listed I haven't either experienced or I think is actually an advantage. The ladder lock slipping easily I haven't experienced whatsoever and while the V2 excels at keeping the straps fastened it's very uncomfortable tightening the straps and I find the straps too loose even when I tightened it up to the max point. However the straps on the V2 are comfortable especially for heavier loads as it doesn't pull much into the pits. I've experienced difficulties using the zippers in the V2 around the corners rather than the V1. The zippers travel the corner smoothly in my v1 with a simple pull motion however for the V2 i have to guide the zipper around the corner and use more force. I don't know if the zipper on my V2 was faulty or not but my V1 gave a much smoother experienced around the corners. The floating pocket for both v1 and v2 are pretty good except the V2 has a slight advantage with this portion. THE V2 floating pocket is easily implemented with the front loading theme of the V2 (pardon my jargon i might be wrong) and doesn't get in the way while the V1 side loading floating pocket does serve it's intended use as a quick access pocket (i carry cables, keys, eye glass case, calculator, pencil case, or anything that I need to store or take on a whim) it really get in the way of using the front compartment for storage due to its placement and huge size. The V1 does collapse and sag on itself and that's related to how the front compartment was constructed. The front compartment's shape is odd, its structured at the bottom to the midsection while the top section is loosely structured by darts to provide some structure when it's not loaded. This leads to that sag where the top section collapses on itself when it's unloaded. Now I actually like this.. it breaks away from the "Boxy" feel people typically get from this bag and takes up less space when its unloaded but that's just me.  I never saw the front compartment as a primary dump it all storage unit unlike the V2's front compartment but rather as a secondary dump it all unit when the main compartment is full. When loading on the V1's front compartment i like to shove objects with larger volume and odd shapes at the bottom and flatter or lesser volume objects at the top following the asymmetrical like construction of the front compartment. The bungee cord isn't really that hard to fasten or provides that much difficulty I think you exaggerated on that portion, I carry a laptop on the laptop sleeve, a textbook and some notebooks on the compartment ontop of it and I didn't experienced that much difficulty but I did experienced slight resistance from the bungee cord when fastening and that's pretty much it. I haven't felt fatigue in both bags with a laptop inside of it however I felt greater fatigue with the V1 when I'm carrying it using the top handle; the V2's top handle is better. Being a daily commuter often taking the bus and subway the V2 was uncomfortable to place on my lap as it protrudes greatly on any orientation due to it's length. Laying it flat on my lap sideways, along my lap, and even standing upright it felt inconvenient in smaller spaces as it reaches upwards to my bottom lip  The V1 however i could easily place upright on my lap and is right under my chin and placing it sideways doesn't protrude greatly to the other seat. For some people this is a minor inconvenience however for someone like me who takes the bus and train 7 days a week it's a major inconvenience.

Again I did my best to write this as impartial as possible however i believe some parts came out biased..

Anybody who have review on their warranty? I have a shell jacket that when I wear it in the rain i am all wet in the inside (I do bike and running like 3-8km). I put DWR because the face fabric absorb all the water from the outside and I think this is the reason I am all wet in the inside after 10 minutes in the rain. But the problem is that the DWR even after 10 minutes doesn't really work at 100% and I am still wet and the dwr work for about 2-3 days and only like 10 minutes in rain. ?:«proudly guarantees the quality, performance and fit of all our products. Also I saw on their website that veilance warranty so this should fit in their performance mission, rigth? Also I found that the jacket is a litle too big for me now, I don't know if the material strech or something, but it is too big. They said that they guarantees the fit, can they tailor the jacket too a size smaller or do something. Are they going to do anything with the warranty ?

Have you ever washed the jacket before and how did you apply DWR, did you use a dryer to reactivate/activate the DWR coating? What jacket do you have, if it's goretex you're experiencing a significant amount of wetting out which can be attributed to Gore Delamination or heavily used and unwashed goretex also based on your comment regarding the face fabric absorbing water that your jacket has a nylon face fabric which is a hydrophillic material. Hydrophillic materials absorb water ~ Nylon absorbs water inherently.

Regarding the "proudly grantees the quality, performance, and fit of all our products" that statement is more or less about how each of their product remains a certain tolerance range of each sizing hence their sizing across a whole batch of the same model has a consistent sizing; a medium will always fit like a medium and never like a small or large. However this doesn't mean the fit of the jacket is guaranteed to work on you, fit is subjective as we all have different body types, it's still up to you to get the right size and understand if the fit works on you or not.

Given that he's wearing one of the argueably louder recent pants combined with the one shoe screaming hype collab I'd take this further and question if the original answer made any fucking sense at all. And I'll bite; how can you not "do Acronym justice" wearing Acronym head to toe and combining that fine 'introvert jacket' with those fine 'extrovert pants'? Are you saying he should have gone with a more contrasting or historically aware shoe choice?

It's the smoking, isn't it? It has to be. Because smoking kills.

I'm getting alot of hate for it but I stand by it. The fit looks like someone who got hold of a full acronym gear and wore it. In a way it looks like someone who's being worn by the internet completely head to toe without individualism and personality within it.

B, do you know if the NYCO voronois have stretch or not?

    75% cotton 25% nylon I believe

No stretch but fabric isn't rigid due to cotton

Thanks for the advice, I’m around 5’10 ish and the length is alright. However the hip allowance is rather huge and thinking perhaps size S might fit better.

Sounds like you just hopped on the acronym hype. P10,15,17,23 are all reliant on the length for sizing as opposed to the waist measurement. P10 is slightly different yet similar story however p15,17,23 all requires you to size according to length because they all come with ultra wide waist and if you checked the measurement charts beforehand you'll see how huge the waist measurement truly is.

As promised, here's the full review of the V2 Nomin. I am thoroughly impressed after a week of use. Previously I rotated between the V1 Nomin, Arro 22 and a Patagonia Refugio. I will use these as benchmarks to compare.

    Dimensions and Capacity

The V1, V2 and Arro clocking at 26, 18, and 22L  respectively; however, the volumes are rather misleading and a poor indicator of capacity. Though the V1 and Arro are bigger than the V2 on paper, the V2 allocates space much better.

It features a dedicated side-access document and laptop compartment in the back. There is a rigid panel bifurcating the compartment which I use to separate paper and my laptop. It comfortably fits a 13 Mac Air, and three notepads (200 sheets). It is compatible with larger computers but the pocket above will get in the may, making access harder. The compartment is fully foam lined, obsoleting the need for a laptop case. Since the compartment is side access, it is disappointing that the bag no longer features a side handle. Overall, the compartment is much better than the V1 foam organizer.

Unzipping the back zipper will reveal a quick access pocket in the top of the bag for quick top loading. I use it to store my sunglasses, key, wallet and hand sanitizer. There are gussets on both sides of the pocket to prevent spillage.

The front of the bag is a large top loader. There is a ripstop pouch sew to the top. It is considerably smaller and less accessible than the pouch in the V1 Nomin; however, the white interior makes locating items much easier. The rounded shape of the bag makes sidling the zips much easier than the V1.

The top loader is connected to the back of the bag via velcro hence if you're laptop is bigger just open the velcro and boom your laptop is fixed
