Do you have any association with the company? Because this recommendation isn't all that relevant to the discussion at hand.

    No I haven't.

i have several Veilance Frame Shirt longsleeve and shortsleeve.

and T-shirts and Poloshirts from this Company Reda as well.

the construction and weave from Reda are so different from my point of view (in a positive way) that I thought it would be good to let you know.. if you are not interested please forget my comment

Thank you Jolek & droffen for your advice! Yes, I also love both so much and really can't decide which one to let go.. I guess I will let go the one which could potentially sell for more money?

On the other hand, I felt it's weird that Field LT has a more durable hood than standard Field does. The hood on LT is made of the same Gore-Tex Pro fabric (same face fabric & microgrid baker) that is used for the whole jacket construction, whereas standard Field has a hood made of a significantly thinner fabric (which looks like Paclite if you check the baker). Don't really understand what's the logic behind this?

I guess if they would use the same thick material for the hood it wouldn't fit properly in the neck compartment so that it would look weird.

  3. i own both. And I like them that I cannot choose to let one go.

As you wrote the Field LT is more a Spring/Summer/Autumn and the standard Field 3L is more an Autumn/Winter/Spring jacket.

As the collar of the Field LT isn't fully closed I'd tend more to the standard Field 3L if you want/have to choose one jacket only.

  4. Have now the black and the grey field OS.  the mid blue wasn't to my liking.

Best piece from all S/S17 maybe in the last years.

Can wear in winter as mid layer, in spring, autumn and summer as outer layer

    I like the cobra snaps

  5. I'm using Perwoll sport wash (most probably available in Germany only) from Henkel group.

It works for all of my biking clothing and of course the Veilance stuff and any other artificial fiber.

So i haven't any smell in any of my clothes.

Hi guys, a quick question: what sort of detergent do you think would be the best to wash the Field Overshirt?

I'm thinking a normal Persil non-bio capsule will do the job since the fabric is made of "air permeable stretch woven / 100% polyester", or do you guys think it's still better to stick with Granger's Performance Wash?

    I'd stick with Grangers.

  7. Just received a Cerium SL jacket from their standard collection. For a very reasonable price

I thought I'd like it as layering piece. But I cannot say exactly

    - dont like the cut, design, fit

    - dont like the materials especially the mixture of core loft at sleeves and underarms and the outer fabrics  - feels and looks like a plastic bottle

    - Arcteryx logo isn't as stealth as Veilance

Once again a reason stick to Veilance and pay the premium.

  8. Seems that the nikwax cotton proof concentrate you are talking about is a so called wash in waterproofing.

So means you have to clean your clothes before with a separate cleaning detergent and as a second step using this nikwax stuff to re-apply the water repellancy.

    Hi branespload

    thanks for the video.

Can you say something on the weight for the field shirt and the conduct?

Is the conduct lighter than the arris?

is the field shirt like one of the frame shirts? S/S or L/S?

And by the way as I was asking about the achrom previously. I decided to get another field is jacket as it's longer and better covering  the neck.

  10. Great questions. I have those pieces too so I can frame them in that context.

So the fit is similar to the Arris in how it's shorter with geometric cutouts at the hem and sleeves. The insulation is an 80gsm Coreloft in the body and 60gsm in the sleeves, very similar to the Mionn IS. It's also similar to the Arris in that it uses GORE C-Knit. So in a way, it's like having a Mionn IS Jacket combined with a C-knit shell. It's not really similar to the Nemis, maaaybe in the way the top is cut but the materials are so different it doesn't really translate well. The Achrom is a very nicely structured piece, I love it as I have broader chest/shoulders for my frame so it makes me look really strong compared to some of the longer, drapey-er silhouettes.

The thickness of the material, I'm assuming you mean the coreloft insulation, is closer to the Field IS (that's a 150gsm fill). I have the Node and the Node is significantly/noticeably bulkier in volume compared to the Achrom.

Only thing I'd say is be careful of washing/drying it, it's tricky for me to get insulated pieces dried properly and get them nice and lofty again. I also really like the way the jacket looks when unzipped, and drying it kinda warps the zipper so it's not as clean. Also, when fully zipped up, the front of the jacket kinda flares forward and the back hem hugs your butt so it makes you look a little chubby or something when you aren't. Otherwise, it's great. The C-knit really makes it so comfortable and all the geometric cutouts really encourage mobility and comfort too. This and the Indisce 3/4 are probably my favorite from this season..

    Thank you very much.

    This helps a lot.

  11. How is the fit, material, thickness of insulation?

Ich have the Nemis, Arris and Mionn IS jackets.

Is it a mixture of these 3?

How is the thickness and material compared to Field IS & Node Down.

Anything else you observed (good or bad) since your posted the pictures?

  12. I'm using the Filed LT jacket together with Mionn IS jacket.

Works great but of course limited to mild winter weather.

For more severe Winter I'm using a Canada Goose Summit Jacket with the Mionn IS jacket as a possible liner. Not as bulky and heavy as their normal Parkas. And plenty warm.

But not as under the radar / stealth as Arc'teryx Veilance stuff.

But you might check out Arc'teryx' LEAF line as well.

Especially their Cold WX jacket SV

  13. For sale

1 Arc'teryx Veilance Composite jacket in copper Size XL, mint condition, asking for €325,- plus shipping

Both jackets are from SS 2015 and as I lost quite some weight these jackets are to big for me now.
