  1. It is terrible to see how addicted I am becoming to denim, Jaysus...

In a desperate attempt to reach the Genoa Jeans guys re-Genoa/TCB collab (no luck either via proxy nor via their email address) I got in touch directly with Hajime San at TCB.  Hajime Inoue is the main man behind TCB. The collab model is no longer available, but it turned out that Hajime is a super nice guy, and speaks a perfect English. We swapped several emails about his models, fits and sizing advices and at last I decided to pull the trigger and buy one of his models instead. I went for the 60's model. I had a really oustanding communication and service from him so far, and I reckon the jeans have a very fair price seen the quality. He also offered me a free chainstich hem!

I wanted to try the Genoa Jeans but I am not particullarly keen on WWII models myself, and also there were a few little details that made me change my mind (the heavy 16 oz denim - too heavy for a good half a year where I live - and the purple selvedge)

I really didn't need another pair of jeans, but.. oh well.. it is still better than becoming an alcoholic or a drug addicted..

  2. Nizzel, great fading!

as for the Ed 80 being legit or not, you might try to contact Edwin Europe via facebook, they're usually very quick to reply. Legit or not the exposed rainbow selvedge on the coin pocket is a little over the top, is one of those little "show off" details that personally I don't like very much..

  3. hi all

never got a reply from Genoa jeans unfortunately, so I just tried to reach them via proxy..

meanwhile here some stunning fading samples of their Genoa TCB collab

not bad at all I'd say! looks nice, not too high waisted and not too low, not too wide at the bottom. a good cut that should work well either with boots or with a nice pair of brogues and a tweed jacket when needed..

  4. Nope! My natural waist size is just a little under 36 but I am a true 34 on all cuts I tried, including the Ed77, which together with the Ed80 is the slimmest cut at thighs and hips.

I am talking about the Edwin models (all the Ed and 'ville) widely available in Europe, dunno for Overworks..

  5. Just shoot an email to the lads at Genoa Jeans, I'd go crazy to get a pair of these, just alone for the Genoa leather patch and Genoa tab! they do look real nice too and reasonably  priced.

did anyone find any fit pics for these?

I'll keep you posted if I get a reply

  6. I have to agree, Edwin are a great value for the money, I don't know why they seem to not get a lot of love over here.

they were my first introduction to the world of raw denim, and my best faded pair so far is a Edwin. I had two Nashvilles, a pair of ED77 and a pair of ED67. I've only bought a pair new, the others came used from ebay.co.uk, for cheap. there's lots of people selling them almost new because they didn't get the right size. the Nashvilles are possibly the most confortable pair of jeans I ever had.

  7. Hi all! Little update on my 425H, they have about 30 days of wear. Whiskers, honeycombs and knee fades are setting in nicely. All in all I'm very happy with these, only sorry I won't be able to rock them for most of the summer, as they're quite heavy.

  8. Apparently she's a contemporary music composer as well and she worked with the likes of Pierre Boulez (one of the most important avantgarde composers of the 2° half of XX century). interesting..

I just shot her an email, let's see if they cost more or less than a pair of benchmade English boots!

  9. no I don't think I'll get the huarache's I appreciate the workmanship involved to make them but they're very bold, and I don't like the ultra thick tire sole. they remind me the old marmite advert, you'll either love or hate it!

I think I'll get something like this, found on etsy

    il_fullxfull424733016_5xc0_zps5fac1e06.jpg

handmade by a greek craftman, they're cheap and there's no chance they'll get stuck at customs. they don't scream "shtyle" at the top of their lungs like the kika's mentioned above, but they look fine to me.

  10. neat work, I like it.

I have the very same pair of Tricker's but in dark brown, and they're in dire need of a resole at the moment, too. Might try something similar, but I have yet to find a cobbler who I trust enough to handle him such a precious pair of shoes..
