I have a pair of the SExFHxRJB collab jeans and after the first wash (after about 3 months of daily wear) they felt like butter. Honestly the best feeling pair of jeans I've ever owned. I've thought about picking up a pair of RJB jeans just for the denim.

That's crazy!

Demonator, are those IH's black? I love the color!

Wow those cognac engineers are really coming along nicely. I wasn't sold on the color when new, but looks good broken in. And I bet will only look better with more time.

Thanks! Your blog is a great resource.

Thanks! I think the sizing is similar on the Julian and Rios versions. I might take a shot and pick up a pair on ebay. I love your blog, marine. Show us how you switch out those WESCO buckles for roller buckles! I'm going to do the same on my WESCOs. I'll take mine to a cobbler tho...

Hey Marineabilly, off topic, but if I wear a size 7.5 Road Champ do you think a size 8 would fit me in RRL Murdock, the second non-Julian made version.

I'm mostly worried about the construction and fit, which are both great. I was a little nervous shipping these across the country to have them altered, but it worked out great IMO.

I can live with that.

I had the shafts of my Road Champs narrowed to better fit my skinny legs. I sent them to Raul at Willie's Shoe Repair in LA (got the recommendation from Christophe). I couldn't be happier. The work is amazing and the fit is perfect! Here are some pics, including of the restitched backstays. I can't recommend Willie's Shoe Repair highly enough!

I assume that they had to take off the back stay and then resew it. The stitching is perfect tho. If any one is interested in having this done, contact Raul at Willie's Shoe Service in LA. Just give him a call, he's really easy to deal with. These came back exactly how I wanted them. They are from the second run of Road Champs, dark brown. But I put Pecard's on them which darkens them up a bit.

I agree with Demonator. If a shop has what you want, then who cares how they treat you. I've been to Leffot a couple times to buy Aldens, but I'm not a huge fan of their make-ups. I prefer Leather Soul's Aldens.

White's natural cxl nomad at about 6 months.
Nice! This makes me want a pair of Nomads. Did you get them customized without a toe box?

BF, those Moto boots are so nice! They will only get better and better with age!

Radict, I would not size up on the 301s. The size 28 will stretch out about 1.5" in the waist. I have the SEXFHXRJB in 28 and the 301s in 28. The 301s have really stretched out in the waist. I probably could have gone a size down. The SEXFHXRJB stretched to the perfect size after about a month of wear.

Thanks, Kiya. I was thinking about a straighter cut with a larger leg opening. I already have the indigo 301s.

Hey Kiya, are you going to get the SBG Beatle Busters from Iron Heart at SE?

not really a different build, but because i wasnt so sure about the sizing since it shrinks and stretches. was told to size down on 301s?
I wouldn't size down on the 301s unless you want a really tight fit. They are sanforized so they won't shrink much at all. The 301BK version in black is sized a little larger so I would size down one on those.

Mister Freedom Indigo Apache Jacket, denim Biribi jacket, Black Moleskin Pantaloons and custom Wesco Boss
Post more pics of those boots in the Shoes that look better with age thread...

Shouldn't this thread be titled "Shoes that look better with age... 2013"?

Just pulled the trigger on a pair of custom Wesco Bosses: black fire, motor patrol last, Vibram 700 sole, dyed brown midsole, no top strap, instep strap 2" extra length with nickle buckle. Now I just have to wait four months until I get them!

Thanks for the advice, hoggreaser! I read a post on the Iron Heart forum from a guy who traced and measured his feet twice and still somehow got a pair of boots that didn't fit and that scared the shit out of me. I'm just going to bite the bullet and do it!
