  1. I believe Rivet and Hide started out in an obscure trading estate before getting their snazzy west end shop suppose you have to start somewhere. But it's well set up with a nice show room in a old Victorian warehouse.

But yeah Peckham, Nunhead is benefiting from the East Dulwich boom and could well be next Shoreditch.

  2. No problem. It's probably worth getting in touch to make sure they have the sizes you want in stock beforehand and arrange a time to visit as not like a usual shop. Well worth visiting though as stock quite a few other Japanese brands.

If you have ever watched Only Fools and Horses on BBC you will have seen Peckham.

I have a few pairs of full counts 1108 and 1109 in 31 and latest pair 1921(similar to 1108) in 30. So yeah sound similar waste.

Most places only stock the 30 and 32 and there is a big difference between them. I prefer to buy so they fit firm in raw state then suffer a day or so pain after soak and again after first wash stretching them out. Don't like wearing a belt. So either 30 or 31 would be best 32 will be too baggy imo.

  3. If your going to London try and pop and see these guys not the easiest shop to get too but best selection of their stuff I've seen and slightly cheaper than Drakes. http://www.alphashadows.com/boncoura

I found the Z denim hasn't shrunk as much as my 66 after a soak but both stretched out ok. Went for 30" in the 66 and 31" in Z. I'm a 31 waist.

Also got a pair of the chinos they are a 30 waist and fit perfect.

  4. Is the Z denim their slimmest fit?

Yes. It's the new slimmer tapered fit for 2016 and comes with a zip fly. There is a shop in Peckham that sells them and the 66 type.

  5. Been wearing in my Z denim the last month or so and coming on nicely, my second pair of Boncoura, the denim is so soft to touch and just gets better the more it's worn.

I don't like comparing jeans but bought a pair of full count 1921, natural indigo ltd edition expensive jobs, not long before these. They are not a patch on quality on the denim or construction.

Really are rather special jeans from Boncoura.

  6. Picked these up the other day - Boncoura Z denim - slightly slimmer leg and taper than the 66 and Cynche versions but same denim, pink line selvedge but zip fly this time. Just breaking them in. Couple of pics not the best sorry.

  7. For me part of the appeal of Ooe was the small run team which you order direct from themselves. Nice easy web site to use, prompt dispatch of order which arrived in a nice black box with a note from them. Never paid a penny in import duty too. All for £90 less than the cost of the current Ooe Contest pair on the other page.

Barnstormer have sold of out my size anyhow.

  8. It's a shame Ooe aren't selling them on their own website anymore. That Barn Stormer website gives me a headache and they have sold out of my size already.

Oh well will try another make as not waiting another year for them to produce a couple of pairs in your size and sell them on a different website..

  9. Does anyone know when they will be releasing more jeans on their website? Missed out on the 60 year NOS finish and wouldn't mind a pair this time around and preferably in a 02 cut.

Oops just seen Flash posted same thing.. Sorry.

  10. There is new UK based Boncoura stockist, on-line store, but they do have a show room in Peckham, South London (Only Fools and Horses land) and do the odd open days or by appointment.

Popped in today an purchased a pair of chino's but they also have the jeans in stock and a rather nice deck jacket.

Nice set up with quite a few other Japanese brands.

  11. These arrived in the post this morning kindly sent by Merv at Okayama Denim. Bit of a sucker for natural indigo so after I saw your post Foxy I had to grab myself a pair. Currently drying after a hot soak will try and get some fit pics up later.

  12. Yep it's a shame as I do like a lot of their clothes but if you are planning on buying a few items then I reckon you could hop on a flight to Japan and have a long weekend eating sushi and wagyu beef and still end up paying similar to what you would have done at Superdenim sat at home on your sofa.

  13. Has anyone from the states found it relatively straight forward ordering from the The Real McCoy's Japanese webstore? I'm looking at a few new jackets and with the current exchange its about a $500 price difference between the Japan webstore and Real McCoys NYC.

UK store is even worse some items are priced the same in £ as they are in the US store in $.

  14. I had this response re any more stock..

    "Thank you for inquiring.

So sorry about out of stock.
We reproduce the OA02-1015 & OA01XX-1055(60 years NOS Finish) by next spring.
You can make a tentative reservation and wait for the next production.
Could you wait for a while? Sorry for kept you waiting and bother you. We will let you know right after our production is finished.
If you would, please let us know your size desired.
Thank you very much for your patience.

    Best regards,
    OOE YOFUKUTEN & Co.
    Ryo and hero"

  15. Keep an eye on the website too as it happened to me last time they released the OA02 - I checked first day they released and wanted 32 but had sold out so went for the 31 but checked a week later and they had stock again.

  16. so your waist is 31 and you got the sz 31. The chart has a 31 waist at 28 something. I guess you did a cold soak? I am interested in your answer because the 32s are sold out and I am waiting for the new models to come out. My waist is 30.5 , do you think the 31's would work for me?

I also wanted 32 but they had sold out and as my OA01 in 31 fitted ok I took a gamble. Wore them in the bath for first warm soak to stop the waist shrinking too much. First 30c wash was a bit painful trying to get them on afterwards but they stretched out ok and fit without the need of a belt which is what I prefer. Can't stand loose jeans which overlap when you tighten them up with a belt.

  17. They certainly do like their vanity sizing at Ooe but they also do stretch quite a bit too. I am a 31 waist and these two pairs are both 31s OA02-0515 on left and OA01XX-0614 on right. They are a little snug after they have been washed but stretch out ok.

  18. I've noticed there is not much love for Thom Browne stuff on the other parts of this site but I do like his Oxford shirts and also picked this up a few years ago in Dover St Market in London..

Very soft loopwheel sweater but has lost a bit of shape over time and washes. I believe most his items are now made in Japan but not been so keen on his last couple of years creations.
