he's saying SLP is no different from zara. It's just ironic that one makes a name for itself copying high fashion and the high fashion brand is copying cheap vintage thrift finds that you can easily obtain at any good flea market for under double digits and reproducing them. (that varsity was originally worn by the drums and found at melrose trading post for $5), Hedi copied the exact dimensions and style - see here - shot in 2010 http://www.hedislimane.com/rockdiary/index.php?e=viewSpe&rockdiarySpeHomeNo=32 .

Anyone have an idea what cut Gryphon is wearing in the skinny lookbook? 16cm? This is the fit I want. My 19cm Diors seem super baggy now.
I think those are the first pair of jeans that got released, 17.5, however they're most likely tailored. SLP boutiques offer free tapering on their jeans though and can get you that effect.

Would anyone here be interested in trading saint laurent sunglasses? I have a brand new pair of Bold 2 but am looking for something with a square profile like the classic or bold 1.

bump, will also trade the saint laurent shades for another style/model like classic or bold 1

Aside from maybe one or two pieces (one guy has a scoop neck shirt and blazer), I don't see a single SLP piece, but the inspiration is most certainly there, which is a bit off putting to me. Why buy an SLP denim shirt when you can just get the Lee shirt the models are wearing? This reminds me of something I came across in a Hedi interview for AW13 where buyers were gushing over the varsity jacket only to find Hedi wearing some thrift store varsity.

I don't mind things made in Portugal at all. I actually like a few of my MIP pieces from damir and givenchy. But the made in Italy silk shirts this season were fine the way they were. I find it annoying when brands keep changing basic items constantly and double the price while they're at it.

some new stuff popped up on the ysl store including a $600 silk shirt that's made in portugal.
guess they're already starting to cut corners. pretty disappointing.

Most of the stock at the stores seems to be selling out pretty quickly because they are only getting 1 or 2 items. I think SL is just playing it safe right now and testing out which items are more popular right now. I've picked up a number of items that quickly disappeared from their catalogue which is pretty weird.
I'm not really sure whats going on with their site either. A lot of the FW stuff is already in stores, including mesh panel sneakers and jackets and Porter and LVR have a few things as well, so not sure why they aren't promoting it yet.

I impulse bought the Bold 2 and loved them, but during the drive home realized they were pretty heavy and blocked my peripherals. ( I'm letting them go for $300 in my B&S thread)

Tried to return the sunglasses and apparently SLP doesn't do returns on accessories and sunglasses. Disappointed.

Looks like a good chunk of items from the permanent collection have been removed from the website, including the denim shirt. Now that FW items are trickling into stores I'm sure they are just making room for new items on the site, as well as discontinuing items that have not sold well, but it'll be interesting to see what items actually remain in the permanent collection and carry over throughout the year(s).

Picked up a couple of tee shirts recently. the micro stripe ss13 that was on sale.. nice light fabric, perfect for summer.. a little cropped but ive been wearing it under shirts which works well.
Also got a pocket tee shirt, but i'm not crazy about the fit for the price. got some sunglasses which are really cool.
Also, ordered the stone washed indigo denim shirt. I really liked how it looked when i tried it on and saw that sizes were selling out everywhere so I picked it up, but having buyers remorse on a $700 denim shirt. I think a few people on here got it as well.. penny for your thoughts?
going to get the fw13 peak lapel runway jacket and probably call it a day til i see whats next for SL

I completely agree. Don't get me wrong, 2k is tough to swallow on a varsity that I wouldn't glance at for $5 at a flea market, but there is something to his reproduction that makes it attractive, beyond the name and marketing. The fabrics that he's going after are pretty unique. I bought one of the first striped t shirts that came out and it looks identical to something you see at topman or a thrift shop and while overpriced and falling apart now, it still remains my favorite shirt, because of the way the fabric moves and feels, and more importantly the way it looks with the rest of the line. The same can be said for the jeans. They are at glance, besides the back pockets, nearly identical to the black petit standard APC's.. Even the cut and denim looks the same, but the denim is stiffer and has a very attractive coated blue sheen to it that has made it my favorite pair of jeans.
Again, it's an unnecessary expense, especially for looking quite plain and subtle, but I like that and appreciate the small subtleties that make something plain come far ahead of what everyone else is / has done.
