  1. So, i should buy these

    Instead of these

    http://www.brownsfashion.com/product/02C832770002/027/skinny-japanese-denim-jeans

    to get the skinnier fit?

And i'd also like to get washed jeans instead of raws

Or should i buy this season Saint Laurent jeans at all if i'm looking to get skin tight fit.

My experience is that this season all their denim is bigger. Your best bet is to stay true to size or size down and go through a place with a good return policy. If you want to get washed jeans in black, you don't have many options other than the destroyed denim with the knee slits, holes or cum stains.

  2. Yeah these are the Raw Black 15cm with the Zip Fly. They are very light raw denim (like 8oz I think). When you take them off for the first time you'll already get heavy crease marks, pretty cool imo. The model most likely sized down 2 or even 3 for a skin tight fit. I believe the hem cm 15, 16, 17, 19 starts at 32 and goes down .5cm every other size or so. The sizing has been all over the place for SLP lately though. I just ordered a pair of these in the D01 / 17cm fit and the hem when measuring is actually 15cm.. You would think it differs by size, but I also have a pair of the gray wash 17cm and those are definitely 17cm in the hem (and fit like spandex, unlike these which are much roomier on me).

Anyway, If you want a skin tight fit, I would size down like 2 or even 3. They'll definitely stretch out quickly.

  3. The Black raws, won't fit like the ones in the photo, because they are raw. The material, even if they both have 2% elastic is different. The 2% elastic in the destroyed jeans makes the jeans almost fit like a second skin or jeggins. The raw's are much stiffer and will change shape. Even if you size down to a skin tight fit, the cuts are different on both models. The Raw's will have a much longer inseam producing stacks and folds. If you purchase the jeans at the boutique, there are tailors there that will give you the intended cut by cutting much closer, but they won't hem, so you'll still get minor stacks. You'll still need to wear the jeans though and stretch them out as much as possible. I've gone through about 3 pairs of raw SLP and neither have gotten as close to the natural skin tight feel as the washed/destroyed cuts. I would just go for a wash or the destroyed you like in the picture. Maybe even the black jeans with the slit in the knees.

  6. I'm really set on on the Maschine MK2, but I still like analog as well. Anyone want to share their thoughts on the MK2? I want to produce tracks versus really performing live. Anyone? Thanks automation, for the reply.

You can get a small modular set up or an analog synth and record a bunch of stuff and then use the Maschine Mk2 as a sampler or trigger. There's a daw inside and people have successfully used it for live use as well as production use, but it's going to be much more limited than having a full featured DAW like Logic. All of these things are just tools, but you need an environment to play with these tools. For about $5-600 you can get a Maschine Mikro mk2 and something like a Microbrute and immediately do everything you want to do without breaking the bank. Yes, eventually you'll feel limited but when that day comes, which shouldn't really be for a while, you'll know exactly where you want to go.

To those looking at op-1 or maschine, I would also suggest taking a look at a common household device like the iPad or iPad Mini. The impc pro app is really good and with audio bus you have access to phenomenal synths like Nave and Animoog that go above and beyond what analog and even some plug ins can do. The bonus is you can take it everywhere and record audio directly to it, sample whatever whenever, and if you audio bus to garage band you can just save your projects and open them up on the laptop in logic or gb for further work.

  7. Those tee's are from Cinefile Video next to the Nuart in L.A.

Yes they are indeed ultra hipster. They sell them at amoeba and the tweens snatch them up because they saw james franco wearing one. They're awesome shirts, but unfortunately in l.a. they've been pretty big for a number of years.

I'd still get some for myself though. I believe they have an ebay shop where they sell them at like $15

To add - What are the deets on the Life Death and Nothing supernatural tee's?

  8. Thanks Ordo!

I jumped into the Afterlife series from a recommendation in issue 2 and didn't really care much for it, although Francesco's art is gorgeous. I waited around a while and picked up the Series TPB collection and had a blast with it from beginning to end though. It's a fun little read, but I don't think I'll go for more. Also, I believe the Afterlife series is an entirely brand new concept outside of the regular Archie series. The TPB is pretty cool in that you get all the issues collected with covers and variants, as well as the writing and art process and notes on why and how the series started.

  9. Blu Ray pick ups this week I saw Nymphomaniac, Watched the new Criterion Editions of Hard Day's Night, Scanners, Il Sorpasso, L'eclisse and Life Aquatic. All are great and the Criterions hold up extremely well, but I'm not as fond of L'eclisse as much as I was when I saw it last about 10 years ago. Life Aquatic however has aged much better. I blind bought Under The Skin because I love Jonathan Glazers work, but have heard very negative things about it. The soundtrack is great though so I'm sure i'll still like it.

On the netflix tip I saw The Lego Movie which was actually fun, Grand Budapest was great and Jodorowsky's Dune was amazing. Instant Queue watches I saw The Immigrant which is really really great, Upside Down: The Creation Records Story, Alan Partridge Alpha Papa, All Cheerleaders Die and Fred And Vinnie which were all pretty good.

Theatres - Snowpiercer is excellent and on TV I just finished Fargo which was incredible and I had to binge watch everything in a weekend. Ray Donovan Season 2 is awesome and The Leftovers is pretty good as well.
