  1. soak my BOM01 w34 today with warm water around 90mins. now the waist shrink down to 31.4inch.

that seems like a big difference for a tag 34. most people report with momos that they will stretch back in a day or so with wear . . . hopefully that will happen for you
  2. yeah dude! strong and weighing in at only 13 oz's.. im in the desert right now.. perfect for some summertime steez outdoor action.. def taking these into the wild.. ill let you guys know tho..

wow are they really nice and light for a summer jean? most stuff, even the 14 oz stuff is super heavy to me when it's humid out . . . then again, there is none of that in the desert!

be sure to take / post lots of pics!

  3. damn.. everyone who copped a pair of hemp blends got lost quicker than that "year without a wash" guy.. what happened w/ these? i got a pair from blueowl en route..

My friend has some. They're kind of rough at first but with minimal wear they end up being really soft. His have barely faded with daily wear and he got them the day they were out but I don't think he wears his jeans very hard.

hemp is so strong . . . it will be interesting to see how they hold up against stretching and normal wear & tear . . .
  4. I'm not sure Flat Head will outsource production, but you've mentioned some good examples above.

What also happens is that the brands often introduce cheaper, diffusion lines and it seems that everyone is wearing the same brand and you may as well wear a pair of Diesels and a Superdry jacket!

prices may also start to rise, even if production doesn't increase
  5. My N&F and Big Johns are coming up on almost a year old. Figure I could wash them now, but when people reffer to washing them after 6 months of more do they mean soak more? Or soak in detergent? Or just wash like anythign else in a machine?

i guess normal options are a hot soak, or cold soak with tap water in a clean bucket or bathtub. most soaks i imagine are in cold water, unless you are looking for them to shrink as much as possible.

if you want to hang on to the indigo as much as possible, cold water would be best, as well as adding some woolite dark detergent, but that would probably be considered a wash.

i think most people do cold soaks more frequently (one, two, three times during the year) and then wash every year / year point five or whatever.

it's your denim, so it's really up to you. a one hour cold soak in the bathtub might give you what you are looking for, since you've waited so long to keep the contrast going.

def. post pics of before and after, a lot of people here, even the trolls, have the bj collabs, so it would be nice to see a pair all faded up.

  6. I'm just trying to share what I see bro. No need to be all on me. Just a few months ago you were new to the Raw Denim scene and we all welcomed you and gave you advice. And here you are now trampling over the community's benevolence.

not really. you're just a shitposting troll trying to get a rise out of people here, and on hypebeast. get a life dude.
  7. Hey guys, hella noob question here...but any tips on getting more contrast? Is it mainly when you wash and how frequent?

yeah, wear them erry day and don't wash for like 2 years
  8. Those look awesome cabes!

I picked them up too, but the inseam is pretty short.. I think soaking them would make them pretty much unwearable for me..

nf shit the bed so hard with the inseam on those . . .
  9. My girlfriend is super tall (6' 1") and was looking for a good pair that have a 34 waist and a 36 length - most of the ones I've found are only 34 in the length, so that keeps ruling them out. Does anyone know if Railcar has anything that runs longer?

last i talked to them, railcar said they would make me a pair with a custom length when i was ready, but they would have to work it into the schedule, and therefore might take a week or so . . .
  10. When you say down by 1 or 2, are you referring to tagged size or actual waist size? Anw, does the tagged size runs true to waist size or are they larger by 2 inch? Very confused because denimgeek & blueowl state differently.

wg are vanity sized by 2 inches, some even 3 (left hand twill). so you want to size down via the tag size. your actual waist of a 31 will be found in a tag size of 29, and you don't want to downsize any more than this.

don't listen to too awesome and follow the sizing of tate+yoko as they use a generic sizing chart for all of their items - which is so useless that they shouldn't even offer measurements at all, since no info would be better than misleading info - but blueowl.us on the other hand actually measures every pair of pants that they get, takes the average, and then posts the result on their site.

if you don't know what your current measurements are to compare with, take a soft tape measure and measure pants that currently fit will, or a piece of string to take your dimensions with, and measure that length. use this as a comparison to the numbers listed on blueowl.us

also, for e2s, you can find them here (only have sizes 28,29,30), but you can google for a 20% off coupon code, and get them for $105 instead of $132

  11. im sure you can even do a 28 and just stretch the waist depending on how snug you want the fit to be. 29s would be slightly loose on your thighs

terrible advice for the most part. the e2 denim is so stiff that most people go down only 1 or 2. so a 29 might be really tight for the first few months of wear until they break in, and then could be perfect. a 28 would be insane.
  12. Sizing down 1 isn't going to make those a ball cleavage fit... Are those slim guys? Because if they aren't you seriously need to go down on size because they look like slim guys. If they are slim's, honestly I think the weird guy would be a better fit on you...

Seriously though any time I size like that I end up regretting it when they stretch and I have to sell them on ebay/give them away...

im agreeing with this right now, especially with how much that denim stretches . . .

    * Size 32 (34" waist, 10.25" rise, 12" thigh, 8.7" knee, 35.5" inseam, 7.5" leg opening)

    * Size 33 (35" waist, 10.5" rise, 12.25" thigh, 8.8" knee, 35.5" inseam, 7.75" leg opening)

blueowl measurements show that you will lose 0.5" inches on the thigh, which might not be too bad . . . try to do a measurement of some other pants you have now and compare them to a 12" thigh

  13. The Weird Guy Jeans in Indigo Selvedge size 33. As far as the fit, my thighs are the issue with jeans, so I figured the cut of the WGs would be best. I like it to be slim up top and goes into a taper. I assumed skinny would be too tight for my thighs and slim wouldn't give me a good taper.

i've talked to several people about the stretching in those, 2 inches on top of the 2 inches of vanity sizing, and they have all recommended sizing down as much as possible as long as the thighs fit . . . i can't remember if it was here or hypebeast or something, but a guy posted a pic of his tag 32 measuring 36" in the waist.

personally, im really interested to see your feedback and experience on stretch / sizing of these as you decide on a pair and break them in. how is the density of the denim? are they light enough to wear in the summer?

  14. Thanks for the help everyone. Yeah I apologize about the way I wore the jeans, I literally pulled it out of the bag, put it on, and had my girl take pictures. I should of cuffed them to get a better sense of the fit, because the stacks aren't settled it looks odd. @happinessknox you're right, I tucked in my shirt to give a sense of how it fit in the top block.

Would getting another photo up with it cuffed help at all?

I actually do like how the fit is(but I don't know shit) right now, but if it is going to stretch up to 2in, would you guys recommend sizing one down? I can button it all the way up fine, not loose, but it wasn't that tight.

what fit and type of denim are they?
  15. mike is not actually that far off the mark. Both are tapered slim fits. Skinnyguy is a low-ish rise and a narrow leg throughout; fairly self-explanatory. Weirdguy is roomier in the top block, higher rise, and wider thigh, but still tapered. Weirdguy is good for people with regular builds, who want a fitted look.

wg are as low rise as they come . . . skinny have a higher rise, but will shrink down some after a wash / soak . . .
  16. I can do a 36 length for you special request. only thing is that we would make it from scratch for you. so i would have to work it in the mix here at the workshop. but yeah, if you want a Spikes X002 in a 36 inch length ill make it for you.

the 12oz is a sanforized so the shrinkage wont be crazy.

let us know when your ready for them. [email protected]

so epic, thanks! would there be any extra cost to this?
  17. Yup! Let us know. We have some stock with 35 inch lengths in all the styles. Let us know. Ill make it happen.

do you happen to have any of the 12 oz in a 36 inch inseam? 35 is cutting it really close . . . especially if they aren't washed (even if they are sanforized)
  18. been wearing the 32s and i was attempting to stretch them... forcibly when this happened

    imv6eh.jpg

i just hammered the button onto the tack then put a flathead screwdriver in and hammered the two teeth down. we'll see how long it lasts...

you really have to be careful how much force you put on your jeans . . . i was trying to stretch a pair of nf skinnyguys by buttoning them up (minus the top), but had them around my legs, using those to stretch them, and i blew out the entire seam along the buttons . . .
  19. i can't get over momo denim . . . i've been wearing my nf deep indigos for the past month, as im trying to get them broken in before summer really starts, and i tried on my nf x momo skinnys tonight, my legs feel like they are wrapped in silk . . . it's amazing.

i really need to get a pair of vintage denim. i can't decide on a fit though, i'm leaning towards the 201 . . .
