  1. Anyone notice if the BJ collabs are a little bit roomier (once broken in) compared to other WGs? I wear my deep indys a lot more recently, and they fit like a glove. I had my collabs on for the first time since march and they feel super baggy. I can't tell if i'm just used to skinnier jeans right now from my ub101 and deepy indy WGs or if the weight I've lost is making these collabs too big.

  2. I have a pair that have been worn for 2 1/2 months straight. They are slow fading and look just like normal denim. I like them, their very soft. If you look close you can see that they look a little different, but it is not obvious.

yeah, i know what they look like. i had several pairs trying to get a proper fit. i wonder if barney's still has any at the outlets . . .
  3. Not "red wefts"... those are the "red core". Sorry to be a stickler. Proceed... :P

have you heard anything about the multicolored wefts from last summer? i had a pair or two but ended up returning both because of the sizing . . . i haven't seen any pics of them post anywhere
  4. if you give a pair of 201s or any vintage label denim a hot soak to get rid of most of the shrinkage, will they end up stretching back to their original measurements of +1 of the tag size, or will the stretch a bit further past this? i was specifically wondering if a pair of 34w will stretch to a 35.5 or so . . .

  5. 1947's. 2nd washing. 88 wears. 45 wears before first wash. 43 wears before second wash.

denim looks great. i really don't know a lot about sc, but is it true that most of their inseams are on the short side of things with 32-34?
  6. not sure if i like the low rise and the pretty slim thigh measurements

to each his own, i myself couldnt wear them. i def like their baggier slim fits, like the 201 and max's 905sp.
  7. Yeah took the pics today. Thanks brotha, I unrolled them more (after taking the pics) as Im becoming more comfortable with stacking them. Its actually making me enjoy them more too, odd but oh well.

awesome! my only thoughts on getting something new would be possibly a lighter pair for warmer weather since the summer is here where i live. i see a lot of other people in this thread doing the same, by putting their heavies on hiatus until things cool off again in the fall. but as long as you can still wear them, there is def no harm in doing so, haha! i'm a fan of stacking myself, but i think it all depends on what everyone likes the best, so it's good to see you finding a new love for them :P the 666 are really great.
  8. IH 666's @ 4mos

I lost 20lbs recently, bought these a tts at the time, sz34. They've gotten a smidge big on me. Im very close to buying FH 310's soon. Not sure though. Absolutely love these things though.

    1 Initial soak

    1 hot soak

if the pics are current, the fit is still dope! don't worry about them being a little bigger, they really look great.
  9. yeah, thats why sometimes when theres not even a sale, i doubt those codes are saviing you much.. especially if you could be dealing with respectable shops that offer free shipping.. and not to mention assistance, to make sure you get into the right product..

did you end up copping anything?

im also going thru with the natty indigos.. the colors just way too dope.. i heard you gotta wear them hard as shit to get any fade action going.. since theyre so light in weight and color.. beat the crap out these bitches..

you have to size down on those like crazy, they really stretch a lot. i've been told 2" on top of the vanity sizing from people who own them. i didnt get anything, i really have too much stuff to wear already. i got a pair of ub101 to beat on for the summer. they feel pretty light, but they were so cheap that i'm not scared to mess them up at all, or wash/soak frequently.
  10. good call. they've got 33% off deep indigos, natural revivals, and hemp blends all in skinny guys. and some of the shirts are only $80

if you use only the rep code UNLOCK you can save another 20% on top of the sale price, but have to pay shipping when your order drops under $100. i played around with some other codes looking for 20% and fs but couldnt find anything that worked (for orders under $100, there is one for both above $200) . . .
  11. this is a really interesting idea... i'd be into reading about different kinds of techniques, too. can anyone reference a website or maybe even a thread on sufu?

here's a blog post on apc's "coral beach wash" mentioned on the information sheet you get when you order a pair of their jeans:

    http://www.rawrdenim.com/2011/08/raw-denim-coral-beach-wash-the-definitive-guide/

i've seen people do coffee and green tea soaks as well. kayodic and leannesmiles (i think it's leeann), in the pbj & momotaro threads posted about it.
  12. hey guys, i want to ask something..

what is the different between pbj xx 007 and xx011 ? only the washed and raw or what?

i think i want to buy pbj because ppl said it can fade fast, because i dont have much time wearing my jeans

    ty

011 are left hand twill, and looking at pics of other people's, they fade very very very fast.
  13. umm i want to ask..

i want to buy naked and famous but i want the " easy to break" type

because i use them only in weekend

which one better NF deep indigo or elephant 2?

    or any suggestion?

    ty

both are good since they are heavy denim. but because they are heavy, if it is summer where you live now, they will be uncomfortable to wear because of the heat. broken twill skinny/slimguy fade fast as well.
  14. So what I'm getting out of the last 3 pages is that the WeirdGuy is looser in the thigh than the SkinnyGuy, but pretty much the same in the calf/leg?

So let's say I have skinny thighs (22") and super wide calves (17"), what would be my best choice? I have a pair of Gap selvedge jeans and they're okay in the thigh, but they hug the fuck out of my calves and make me look short. I would really rather not get the SlimGuy cus those are too baggy for me. I like the way WGs fit on most people, but most people don't have these fuckin gas tank calves <_<

try some momotaro . . . most of their stuff is looser in the legs, even their slimmer fit (thigh) stuff like the 201. My skinnyguy collabs are really really big in the legs, especially the lower leg. Idk if that is something special from the 34w+ or what. A lot of the ones I have seen on here noticeably taper from the knee down, but mine dont. Then again they aren't soaked, and wont be for a while.
  15. maybe a combinatuion of both..and of course he won't break them in. I read somewhere around Sufu that raw denim is only interesting for these guys as long it is still stiff.

but this talk comes 4 years too late me thinks and in the wrong thread ;)

haha no big deal, i did also mean that in addition to wearing a belt he is probably holding them up, so yeah . . . :D
  16. belt...

he might even be holding them up with his left hand if you look a bit closer . . . i bet that he even wears stuff like that once, and then just moves on to new sean john crap or whatever. i doubt they get worn more than 10 times.
  17. it always sucks having to break in a new pair during summer.. but on the plus side, heat = sweat plus activity makes for some pretty sick wear pretty fast.. i did this in summer with a new pair of unbrandeds.. slept in them every night.. skated a bunch, walked a lot, etc..

you still going strong on wg's? ive always been a denim guy.. but when im in the southwest i always liked my lightest most beat up pair for the summer.. so no shorts, basically.. if they make them in wg's, id recommend the natural indigo revivals.. seriously never owned a pair of more comfertable breathable jeans.. and that says a lot.. id wear my levis till theyd just completely give.. they arent stiff at all.. the material is weird.. like almost fishscaley (not that gross).. it got not even cold.. just cool.. a few weeks back and i was too cold in them!

some people are die hard.. and i guess if i could see myself being that way, if i came across a pair i really was into right now.. like the dudes on indigoroots.. holy shit.. theyre mostly in indonesia.. really humid and hot there.. and i dont think they know about anything thats not like 18-24 oz denim year long.. those kids are nuts, id die!

i still rock them, and they are my go to jeans at the moment, when weather and social things permit. i kinda switched to shorts for the time being if it's really hot out. i wasn't happy about it at first, but i've gotten used to it.

i really wish that they did make those natural revivals in wg, i would definitely own a pair. that is one thing that i hope they create in the future. the wg fit is really spot on for a lot of people, but it does get a tremendous amount of love with other fabrics and collabs.

  18. right? I wear my raw levi's to work. I got them a year ago and only washed twice. and both washes have just been recently. It's weird but I haven't been able to find my pair of levi's anywhere online or in any other levi's store. I got them at a levi's boutique here in Portland, and they are actually out of business now. But my jeans get so nasty after just one day. covered in both dry and wet cement, saw dust, dirt, pvc and steel shavings. I'm not ready to turn that beautiful zimbabwe cotton into work jeans.

i always thought about getting a cheap pair of unbrandeds for something like that . . . but even after one day, if you are covered in all of that filth, it really might be best to stick with dickies or other work pants and wash them as usual.
  19. ^ god.. gotta love the way the back pockets on the wg's look when the indigos gone..

got my hemps in today.. pretty much as expected.. the green selvedge, the brown weft, and light brown/tan stitching look was really what i was going for..

at first, seemed like any other raw pair to me.. way heavier/stiffer than my 12.5 oz revivals.. they had more in common w/ 14 or 14.5oz jeans.. never realized how big of a diff. .5 oz's makes..

whoever copped these way before and posted on either here or styleforum, had said that they had an itchy feel to them.. they do sort of.. but not so much that it makes it uncomfertable to wear.. and im sensitive to shit like that.. its subsided a little since putting in a days wear, as well as softening up, as theyre supposed to do quickly.. just staying hot in my non a/c'd house in the desert.. doing some yard and garden stuff and things we all do to break in a new pair..

i had to size down on these.. according to blueowls chart the actual waste in a 28 is a 29.5 (usually wear 29's tagged skinny guy).. i couldnt get the top buttoned buttoned.. it took less than a minute of marching in my room to get it to button.. so needless to say, the whiskers and combs have set in already due to tightness.. there is also a LITTLE wear on my wallet.. since i put my ipod behind it.. and was out doing work..

bottom line.. is i can see them fading.. jay said they would.. just nothing "super contrasty", is how he put it..

ill skip any fit pics, since theyre just a skinny guy fit.. im more concerned w/ the aging process..

also just wanted to give a report since these went quick.. even n&f is out.. so expect sales here soon.. and on some other s/s n&f peices..

also, i really only fcks with blueowl at this point.. a lot of jeans i order, you can get tons of places.. i made it a point to do this when i saw how jay interacted with folks on the styleforum and his on point measurement chart.. thurs early afternoon we were shooting emails back and forth.. he responds 10 mins tops.. i placed my order mid afternoon.. they were sent out later in the afternoon, and on my doorstep this afternoon.. thats how all of my experiences w/ blueowl have been.. so on point..

kloop on the other hand? could careless about you or raw denim.. youre not saving much with the repcodes or anything.. blueowls shipping is free priority.. and you get points for each order over 100.. you could save money on a pair of momos, cool n&f collabs, and heard they were going to start stocking baldwin too..

ill post updates on these as needed!

that heat must be killer. i had a new pair of wg deeps that i wanted to put 30 days into before summer really set in with the heat. i was able to do that from 4/6 - 5/6. you might want to try something similar, even if it is only for a few hours every day. i think even that on/off, laying around, sleeping, etc. will help to get things settled before too long.

great updates, and jay really is one of the best!

  20. Well. First off, the BOM's are unsanforized. Might be that these don't run true to tag like for instance N&F jeans (vanity sized). I assume so, as he states his waist size is normally 31.

Anyway. Here something else. Fresh 0702 fitpic.

    6jik9l.jpg

those look good, is that a htc onex as well?
  21. I will post updates of my blueowl x momo colab later today or tomorrow since it's been a month and a half now, unfortunately with my new job ( Custom Fence and Deck building ) I haven't been able to wear them as much as I would like. I'm down to weekends only. On a side note i'm really glad to see this thread growing and more people buying momotaros!

sounds great! i am excited to see more of these new collabs . . . it's always great to login and see this thread active!
