  1. on separate thought, there should be a waywt tech wear thread with maybe some context to conditions you'll be in for the day. Denim heads already have their own thread. Makes sense for all the tech wearers to start a thread. I know I'd be interested in it.

I'd prefer to just see that stuff posted here rather than having a separate, probably really slow thread.

  2. Meh, I consider most of my expensive clothing purchases to be relatively stupid in the grand scheme of things, but it's nice to make those "stupid" purchases every now and then.

My justification was in two parts:

    1. Having a nice expensive hardshell means I don't really have any excuse to not walk instead of paying for transit when I travel throughout the city (6 months x $138 = $828 alone in savings for the last 6 months mine has been getting regular use)

    2. It wasn't paying $1000 for a jacket, it's paying an extra $500 on top of what I would of had to have paid for any other decent quality jacket I was going to have to buy anyway.

  3. Guess it makes sense to post flyknits here. Got a pair of multicolour racers I never wear anymore, size 11.5 US (fits 11 - 11.5). If anyone would like to make any offers here before I put them up on eBay for a ridiculous price then send me a message. :-)

(Pic is old but they are still in good condition, just need to give the midsoles a scrub. No damage to the material or anything.)

  4. Nomad in Toronto has a lot of Shadow Project and Veilance from their new seasons that they haven't listed on their website (interesting business strategy...) They ship pretty much anywhere in case anyone's missed out on a size or colour they missed somewhere else.

  5. how much elektron stuff u got now??

    i'm jealous. ballin 2 hard

Machinedrum, Octatrack, and Monomachine (in order of coppage). Wasn't planning on grabbing the Octatrack but a good local deal came up so I went for it, and as a result I'm short on cables. Need a bigger desk too. Planning on grabbing my friend's Focusrite 6i6 when he upgrades to a UAD interface.

  6. Thanks, yea pics are rare (read: non-existent) of it being worn. Agreed, I actually hate my trainerendors, they're probably one of the worst constructed shoes I've ever owned - there's nothing else on the market I'm currently interested in though. Will probably grab all black qasas if they don't totally sell out before I get to them in July though. I don't really get the criticism for the bedroom mirror though, it's the only close the full length mirror in my house and I'm not so vane that I'm going to coerce a friend to take a professional photo for me. Definitely not in highschool :P

I think what I was trying to say is it kind of downplays the badassery of your CP2 u know? As far as the rest of the outfit, I'd try a pant that's less slim in the upper block and chunky boots. I def encourage u to post more about it in the acronym thread here.

  7. I don't want to criticize u for lookin dressed by internet status (cuz i probably am more so) but wearing an over the top acronym techninja cape and taking pics in ur bedroom mirror aren't really vibing together for me. I sense suburban highschool clashing with urban techwear u know what i mean?

props for actually buying that thing though, and double props for actually posting a pic of u wearing it, cuz your 1 of 2 ppl I've only ever seen so far wearing it minus the designer himself, but u could do it more justice. the 2nd pic is a bit better, and I probably wouldn't have negged u had i refreshed the page after u edited your post.

    and trainerendors suck

  8. I do that shit all the time, because I don't want to live in a world where your two choices are Amazon and Walmart.  I have many friends who own stores, are in bands, write books etc and they don't fit in that world.

Do whatever you need to do, just understand there is a social cost involved

Case in point - for those in the US, mail ordering ACR by proxy from a place halfway around the world so you can duck customs means the few stores here that stock it can't compete and they will hence not choose to stock it in the future.  Decreased revenue from retail customers leads to only being able to buy from acrnm.com because ACR doesn't want to have to deal with terms.  And that decision triggers crying that that's the only place you can buy it from and it's "unfair" because you now have to pay the full duty that the local stockists had to cover, which made it too "expensive" for you to buy in the first place.

I grant that it's not the cheapest stuff to buy so I yet again recommend you stick to the secondhand market if you're such a skinflint you want to nickle and dime the very people who are trying to make Acronym more accessible on the retail market

How many people are actually proxying Acronym from Australia to avoid VAT or customs? I can't imaging that it's a significant amount of people. Not to mention that retail stores are taking a cut from Acronym when they sell their products. If it's sold only through Acronym then couldn't those savings be passed down to the consumer? Has it been confirmed that Acronym has ceased giving new product to other dealers indefinitely, or just SS14?

  9. The sleeves (and body) on my veilance sweater were definitely longer than normal. I don't mind with my height, but it's probably pretty unusual for most people.

I figured that with their base layers it could've been a conscious design decision to make grabbing the end of cuffs easier for when putting on a jacket.
