  1. Ordered my custom WESCOS today!! I have been debating

Between those and lone wolf engineers. I went with wesco cause they seen more like a real work boot and the heritage of the company is pretty amazing.

I don't think I have ever been more excited for a pair of boots!

I got the boss western toe boot

    black

brown double mid soles and stacked heel.

    half vibram soles

brass buckles (I begged them on the phone to put roller buckles on,but they are pretty serious about keep that shit lock)ed in for japan only)

I paid for the rush fee, so I should have them in 4 to 6 weeks.

Will posts some pic as soon as they roll in.

  2. ^^^^^°^^^ OMG!!!!!!!!!! THAT LEATHER IS FUCKING AWESOME!

    never seen hh bridle before.

Scott Always finds the coolest artisan leathers.

    The design is killer too!

    Rep to you!

And I am going to rep unlucky too lol!

  3. Ah, thanks for your advice, NC! I imagine that it's much easier to cut shapes like that with a laser, but you've confirmed my suspicions about the edges. I am guessing that it might not matter much if the pieces were going to be dyed and have the edges burnished, but half the stuff I make is natural. I'll go back to planning on ordering dyes... I've heard it's fairly easy to make a press with a car jack? I see a 6-ton shop press on Harbor freight for $65 :)

Hmm, so they are metal stencils, but you still cut everything by hand? A metal stencil would certainly help for some things...

Still cut by hand....it make curves and consistency a breeze.

Corter, is that segdwick or Clayton?

I just order some Clayton, going to take a stab at making belts....never made one before.

  4. ^^^^^SICK!!!!!

Zissou! When i saw you post i kinda laughed, cause i was just talking about doing green wallets with my good friend.

i miss that hunter/british racing green color. amazing dye job! really nice color depth.

i got a nice piece of green shell cordovan a few months back. just sent these out to some clients last week.

  5. ^ I would contact your trusted local cobbler......ask if they can repair hob nail boots.

It might be a difficult to find someone. But who knows. I would also contact William Lennon about there resole

Pricing. It might be not as much as you think. It costs me about $90-$120 to get resoled here in the u.s.

But maybe William Lennon with shipping won't be too much more.

Anyone here have some wesco pt or werstern boss boots???? Been playing on the wesco website. Thinking

of pulling the trigger on a pair. Just wanted to know if anyone had any fit pics or recommendations

before I drop more money and have my wife murder me.

( I promised her I would quit smoking and no more boots in 2012, both resolutions are failing) lol!

  6. hubards shoe grease is pretty hardcore stuff. it smells like tar. i like it cause its old school version of snoseal pretty much.

i bought it cause the can looked cool lol.

works good for real work boots......but i would not recommend it for horween leathers or dress casual boots and shoes.

  7. My heavily modded Thorogood x Epaulet Horween CXL Horsehide boots . these boots are pretty special to me, since i work with horween cxl horsebutts on a daily basis. i am pretty stoaked how they turned out, plus i really wanted a legit work boot, and not a dress/causal boot for this contest.

custom dye job (thanks mike for the cool idea!) , cats paws, vibram mini lug sole and double leather midsole

these boots are fucken heavy!!!! some real face stompers !!!

  8. ^ mike is right on cxl.....I would just take a damp cloth to it and clean it off. I like Dr. Jackson hide rejuvenator to polish my cxl goods.

just use sparingly. I also am a big fan of fiebings leather balm as a protective coat after cleaning cxl....again...use sparingly.........it gives it a nice mild coat of wax that can be rag polished to a nice natural cxl shine......just my 2¢

  9. ^ I use old military bags I cut up....you can get them dirty cheap if you got a local army surplus

    around.

Simon, I have no love or hate for linen thread...... just not my style.....to each their own.

When you going to post more stuff!!!!!?????? Stop hiding lol!

  10. I just used it for the first time last week...on a whiskey cordovan card wallet I posted up at the top of the page......

I really dig the stuff. I have tried just about all waxed threads I can find on the net. This is the best outside of japan thread I have used.

I am planing to head out the Garment district in downtown LA to find some similar non waxed sewing machine

threads in other colors. Since it seems everyone that orders from me wants red stitch haha...

When it comes to thread sizing I am no pro. I can't tell if its 207 or what.

Do your happen to know Mr corter?

Or perhaps this is the time for Mr. Unlucky to chime in with his sewing machine machine expertise.

It was pretty fun to sew with thread again....been doing sinew for so long .

  11. cool Mr. Corter! i like the minimal stuff you have been busting out as of late......its harder do a minimal design, then a complicated one sometimes. VERY COOL!

here is a new design for me as well, my first full on billfold, six slots, hidden slots. and designed for all currency (my last billfold only fit american dollars)
