  1. Those machines are not for leather! Don't be fooled by everyone saying heavy duty on eBay.

Better to save then buy a junky machine. Most Vegtan leather sewing machines are going to cost $1000 or more.

You can always go to your local shoe cobbler and ask if they have any for sale or know of someone that is selling.

You can find good used stuff for $300 and up.

Jaw is right, walking foot is the way to go

  2. Buckleguy.com has riri zippers...the best! But they are not cheap! But they look awesome ! And add class to your project.

I too avoid handstitching zippers. When I do use them I go over to my old job, and machine stitch them in .

  3. ^ there are plenty of manufactures that will do 1000 to 10,000 Pieces.

But I hope everyone's that says they are in on this realizes this is not a trip to tandy or opening the Weaver catalog.

its still going to be expensive, even as a group buy. Anywhere from $2 to $5 a stud set. .....if we do a smaller order.

Not very cheap at all! So its going to be at least $200 to $500 a person.......

After writing that.....I really don't want to spend that on some sam browns anymore

I talked myself out of it. Haha

  4. Mine are standard heel height for the western last. Mine look taller to me for some reason. It's probably just an optical illusion. Mine felt perfect right out of the box. Maybe luck, I don't know. My packers were a solid month of torture, before they started feeling better (twice I went swimming with them on and wore them soaking wet till dry).

I lot of people have told me to soak them, then wear them till dry....but I can't bring myself to soak these bad boys.

Just going to enjoy the pain while it lasts :)

  5. ^^^^ really??? 33 minutes lol! More like 33 days! These boots are the stiffest boots I have ever owned, but that's part of the fun.

These are the standard heel height.

yours are pretty bad ass too! You got the 1/4in lift?

  6. Something wrong with your shell?

I just finish it with a damp cloth polish.

If its a little scratched, you can always do a very very very very ......very light coat of shoe polish wax.

Don't use shoe cream unless you want to spend a hour repolishing the whole piece......

Most of the time a damp cloth will do wonders on shell cordovan.

  7. Thanks Nic and Friday!

well Mr. Hollows, the feeling is mutual! I do own a wallet from you lol!

if i didn't covet other peoples leather work or handmade stuff.....i would not be doing this.

I love buying handmade quality shit, be it a bad ass pair of Aldens or Wescos,

or a cool ring from Fine Light Trading. i am just a fan and nerd about this stuff.

  8. I finally had a chance to work on my biker wallet design. It is hard to take such a simplistic design. and try to put your own spin on it.

this is also the first time i used a sewing machine and a zipper on one of my own designs :) (just the zipper is machine sewn)

I am really stoked about this wallet
