sydney. the longest drive i've personally done. 1400kms or so. i only got into sydney about 2130 having left adelaide at 7am. the drive was amazing though. with great twisty bits and an entirely straight and empty piece of tarmac for about 170kms. Sydney's not too shabby, very hectic and busy with high rise buildings everywhere. sadly, over the past few times i've ever been in sydney, it's been such a coincidence that i'm never there longer than 2 days. at least this time i've managed to drive over the sydney harbour bridge. i've stopped by canberra on the way back to perth from melbourne airport as well.

Adelaide. 700kms, 7 hours drive from melbourne. not too bad for a first ever visit. not too much to do on a first trip. relaxed mostly around the main city shopping strip. really loved the place. somewhat similar to perth but with more stuff. there's also cool little bars and of course RHD.

this is probably my last trip in the dwc jeans for this contest. sadly, i don't think i have pictured or taken a photo in them during the duration. flew to melbourne for 5 days, then drove to adelaide and then sydney for about a day each. i think i covered 3500kms in total, with the adelaide - sydney leg being the longest at 1400kms in 14 hours or so..
Melbourne's all about the cafes, the coffee, good food, rooftop bars, secret bars and everything "cool" within australia. there's really good cafes with brilliant menus and good coffee/roasters. i haven't been to melbourne in almost 8 years now, checked out the NGV, where the Viktor and Rolf exhibition was on and did most stuff around the city areas.

went out for dinner last night. this little tapas place in what we call northbridge/ chinatown where pretty much all if not most of the nightlife is. sadly i didn't document of all the food and drinks, but they had quite the list of craft beers too.
that was when i noticed the hole in the jeans not knowing how the hell it got there.
not the best job. but i've tried to fix it. there was another smaller hole just above it, not as bad. i'm can't sew for shit. i really hope the treads stay intact..

yeah i would assume so aye! i don't have a lot of experience with cone mills denim fabrics, but the only lvc pair i have around somewhere did shrink a lot when i hot soaked it.

just to start this off. 4 years ago, i decided to quit my job and go back to doing my degree full time. moved to perth, my second home and now i'm waiting for my graduation in march. i'm also going to be starting full time work again soon, so it's really come a full circle. had a relatively short day at work today and decided to head into the city for lunch. just a couple photos of what perth looks like and me in the denim.
i'm in this placed just in the city called Elizabeth Quay. They've just had a revamp a couple years ago now and the area looks spanking new, even the historical bell tower. Apparently, it's a tourist destination kinda thing, but i've never been to all this touristy things as this place has been "a second home" to me. they place now is great for summers as they love to host food festivals and what not by the Quay. Not too bad of a day with the weather, cooling summer day that's brilliant for a ride.

Just picked up the jeans from the post office today. Timing with the parcel was really good. it arrived yesterday but unfortunately, i only got off my flight late at night. won't be up to much this couple days. still recovering from my holiday where i drove about 3500kms.. but to start off,
funnily, the parcel went through quarantine check. wonder why. i know aus customs are a little anal, but i've never really had it before except for my rear sway bar i got from the US. just wearing it around the house getting a feel of it. Fit is good, waist is alright, perfect with a belt. loving the denim, the rivets on the back pockets is different but nice, even the shape of it is different to Roy's first pair of RS1 (or RN1 can't remember now) i have

the macros are pretty sick. though some shots of the leather bring out a little trypophobia in me with the odd shape circles...

wear them, do whatever you want. before you send them off, give them a wash. sounds about right i wouldn't be surprised that it would be the rainy season now anyways. went back for a week. couldn't take the humidity.
btw, great photos holio, really love the ones with the fog. although, as much as iphone photography goes, i can't stand being on f1.8 all the time. seems a little too much no matter what the apps are. my usual daylight shooting are either f16 or 11 or slow shutter for night shots depending on how i wanna frame the shot.

well you've got to remind me to put the coin back in there after i'm through. these coin pockets, they're for my zippo. always need to have a lighter for my ciggy.
edit: on a seperate note, i wonder if it's intriguing to add little knick knacks on from each contestant till the end?

yeah that beer was great. i'm not a huge hops person and prefer a more balanced summer ale kinda craft beers that's light and refreshing. haven't heard about them but definitely keeping an eye on them now. australia has quite a number of craft beers manufacturers but still can't be compared with the huge amount in the US and europe.
yeah the hole is a pity. sorry guys! i was hoping if anyone was near a selfedge (i believe they're only 1 of 2 worldwide that i know) with a darning machine, it could be fixed. sadly, there's none near my region at all.
