  1. Those Alden LW's kick ass. Love the Natural CXL...your sock choice however, is questionable :)

I can't go sockless in the summer or my shoes would stink! I'm thinking of trying the Mocc socks.

Anybody have any experience with these:

I can't go sockless in the summer in my shoes,

i always wonder about the guys that really pull it off..

I believe in my case..it will ruin them in the long run with possible foot funk..

and it is just nasty to have your feet fill up with sweet inside the shoes.

i have tried a pair of the the no-shoe socks over this spring,

    i got mine from Smartwool.

they look great, but just don't work well for me.

    i really tried..

    but they slipped around,

the edges of my feet would get stained from my shell cordovan longwings by the end of the day..

and my feet wanted something slightly more thick and cushiony.

so i said fuck it, so what if you see a bit of sock.

the sock-less trend is all about man ankle cleavage.. and i get it, it looks sharp..

But,i am gonna wear my shoes however i like,

got a pair of wigwam socks, and fell back in love wearing my shoes in the summer.

and be comfortable first in them..

  2. it definitely does. I think it was a better fit in the heel with the C, but I didn't have enough room for my toes, which I think is worse. I may have to go with a spenco insole for the warmer months...so far its ok though. So far they're not uncomfortable at all and my feet feel great. Not much of a break in period I guess.

I think the semidress last just really isn't that great of a fit for me, I probably should have gone with the smoke jumper...which I've been thinking about getting in that dress brown. maybe I'll get some birthday money next week that'll open some doors for me.

White's suggested a 10.5 D on the smoke jumper last as well.

    Erk,

from my opinion, you just might have wanted to keep your C Width and switch the last on your Semi Dress to their "Swing" last

vs. the standard 55 Semi Dress last that you have.

I tired a pair on in the Swing last in my same exact size and def felt a different experience.

it was to much for me personally.

The Swing last is cut the same in the heel, but wider in the Toe-box area.

you can ask Denim Junky, i believe he has both to compare, and give you an opinion..

as far as the Semi Dress vs the Smoke Jumper for a better fitting lace instep area on you.

i would NOT suggest you a Smoke Jumper because they tend to have a closer laces gap cut vs. the Semi Dress which is a further spread gap.

    hope some of this helps..

    Original Price was ($475)

    Size US 7D

    Trubalance last

I just purchased these super buttery soft boots from Leffot yesterday,

    http://blog.leffot.com/2011/04/30/alden-x-leffot-indy-boots/

and wore them out once for a stroll, they are super comfortable, and worn with a summer sock, perfect flexible, almost fells like wearing a dessert boot, or summer chuka... But with all the support of an Indy..

Honestly, I am really hard on my feet and boots, and know how thrashed these will get..

so i think these might be too precious for me, so i offer them up to you all.

these boots are perfect for the summer,

lined with the smoothest kid leather lining.

    dont miss out on these..

sorry i allready threw out the original box..

  4. I agree with coleslaw. However, and this is not directed at HH or anyone in particular, but just a general comment for those purchasing a pair of White's, Wesco's, Nick's etc. It should be kept in mind that these are not walking shoes. That is not to say that they should not be comfortable. Just wanted to emphasize that work boots are designed to help the wearer support the weight of, for instance, an unwieldy chainsaw with a 36" bar on a 2:1 slope, or 30lbs worth of crap stuffed into the tool bags strapped around your shoulders/waist. While the SD is not by any means a work boot, it offers similar support, as it was offered to guys who were already accustomed to wearing their SJs all day long, but whose wives would refuse to go out to dinner with them in 'those beat up old things.'

"It should be kept in mind that these are not walking shoes."

    Nope..

sorry, but i have to disagree with this statement....

i agree with all the emphasis that YES, these are work boots, and not tennis shoes or trainers..

But, i have a pair of Whites BountyHunters and walk everyday in them at least 45 blocks or a few NYC miles in them..

they are hands down some of my most comfortable and supporting shoe for standing, working, and walking... besides the Alden Indy..

i can do pretty much everything in them besides jogging or running at long distances..

i take them off at the end of the night with pure relief, and a relaxed foot.

now... this was not the case with the break in time of the boot which lasted about 14 days of nastiness..

i complained and hated the boots.. and little by little, i would start to fell the boot was breaking in.. the payoff once broken in is really something you can only understand after you break your first pair in.

regardless.. if you are sized incorrectly for any boot, your feet will hate you on the daily walk and most definitely down the long run..

  5. My wife surprised me with them. They were supposed to be a father's day present, but a funny set of circumstances forced her to reveal them, ha!

White's new "Classic Worker", black chromexcel....

    9b2d16de.jpg

    Pure Sexiness Riff!!!!

thank you for giving us a better peak at the action..

    these are sooooooo nice~

your lady took good care of her man, she knows his style~

    :D

    question:

i believe it is built on a different last then other Whites,

so comparing them to your others...

is the classic worker boot a smaller profile or different toe-box then the SJ or SD??

    dose the last feel different?

  6. No worries

There has been mention of ultrasound here. I think Davichan might have been in contact with them about a custom White's order.

    Yup,

i exchanged a few e-mails back and forth with Ultrasound,

they were very nice, and fairly priced as mentioned.

at the time around jan 2011, before Whites released that Classic Work boot model, Ultrasound seemed to be able a few options that only an Asian importer could mod to Whites that was not available dealing directly with Whites.

there seems to be allot of that still going on with Whites Japanese dealers, getting special flavors of Horween leathers, and punched cap toe, along with a few other minor things..

in the end, I didn't end dealing with Ultrasound, only because i was eventually able to have Whites build out what i wanted.

but i am still always checking out their blog and Facebook profile to see the cool shit they are building out over there.

def worth a tease for Whites fans..

  7. I went with a custom black chromexcel very similar to what davichan posted a few weeks back, except with a steel toe. I'm still waiting on my foot tracings to get confirmed, and then I was told the wait right now is at least 6 weeks.

    Layne

    I think you chose right

the black chromexcel leather is feeling very nice oily and glove like, it breaks in much faster then the whites oil tanned..

And i must say being a fan of brown leathers most of my life..

This is easily such a lovely shade of black with so much character going on..

I look forward to the years down the road with this to see how it really ages.

Besides it being a very easy marking leather, which could put some folks off, I can't say nothing but goodness about it...

    Sure you will enjoy it!!

  9. Whites boot question.

what are the general thoughts on real life wear with Whites:

    Water Buffalo vs. French Calf?

i am doing my next pair in an oxblood color and am leaning towards these..

    so anyone have pics of:

    -Red Milano Water Buffalo

    -Sienna Water Buffalo

    thanks...
