  1. I just got back from shooting pics of the store for kiya and let me say that the store looks fantastic!!! Kiya and his crew did a great job. congrats again.

I can't post the actual pics as they are exclusive to inventory magazine's blog. However, with Kiya's permission I took some iPhone pics for all you denim heads that can't be here today to check out the store.

Enjoy the pics. I can tell you that the store smelled of pure raw Japanese denim, which is much better than the new car smell.

Cool displays every where. this one house a buch of top notch denim from all our favorite brands such as Iron Heart, Flat Head, as well as the new Mister Freedom jeans.

  2. eltopo- I guess I'll be redundant and say the fit is tip top. I think you just sold 10 pairs of those to the SUFU viewers!!! LOL!!!

Details on this denim is really great. the leather patch has to be my favorite.

  3. Takeshi & ThinFinn- Thank you

Paul - Thanks for sharing. you're right about wearing these hard for the contrast t come out. I'm not planning on washing these for a year so that should do it.

I did a Cold soak on my jeans for 15 minutes. Water turned a bit brownish which was strange. minor shrinkage in the waist and an inch and a half on the length.

  4. Thanks Paul. that's exactly what I was planing on doing. I love the color of these right off the bat, so a cold soak would preserve that as much as possible.

I'm just curious to se how much these will shrink and stretch. I read shrinkage is 5% or so which should translate into an inch in the waist and 2 in length.

Very nice - the 'first blue jean' or '1873'. I think Cotton Duck has/had version of these, I had the natural indigo version, they're also very similar to the 1890s I wore this summer. They fade in beautifully, specially if you only give then a quick-ish cold soak to start off.
  5. Thanks for posting those. awesome evo on these jeans. I'm pretty happy with mine as they're fitting like a glove. This denim is crazy.

I'll post some fit pics soon.

    + rep as well

Cheers and thanks again for the awesome links.

  6. Greasypeanut- I got them in the US

Zissou- thanks. I'm really loving these. They bled so much during the soak. After 3 days, they already are showing some signs of wear. You're totally right, I think they're gonna fade pretty quick.

Btw do you have any pics to show of an older pair?

I saw a pair of kiya's friend somewhere in this thread and they looked really interesting.

  7. get well soon man. im sure they'll look so much better on you than on me. ;):D

Thanks ranon. I'm sure they looked good on you but you're not used to a looser straight leg fit. I''ve been wearing slimmer jeans as well, it takes some getting used to. I'm digging these though.

BTW strange that we both posted about the same jeans on the same day. LOL!!!

  8. Picked up my Hawaiis yesterday, and I must say that they're one of the most unique jeans I've ever owned. I love all the details and the irregularities of the denim. Also, there was so much bleeding during the soak. It was an indigo blood bath. these puppies are gonna age nicely.

  12. I spend a lot of my time learning how to see. Most often, we look at things. Seeing is different. This is specially difficult in your own surroundings as you are used to everything so you're on auto pilot.

As a mental exercise, I continuously try to challenge myself to see things in a new way.
