  1. whoaaaa

I've just been emailing with Brandon - this is awesome awesome news:

N&F will be dropping a >21oz, superheavy, rigid black jean in Aug '10, likely available in BOTH a black warp/white weft and an all-black version. Limited ed'n, price point >$300.

  2. For those on a budget at the monent, like me, Gap have their special edition shirt of a few months back on sale for £15, around $22 I guess, at the Oxford Street Branch. A few S, lots of M and L left, I downsized to S.

Speaking of Gap (for the Poors on sufu), what do you guys think of this chambray pullover? To cop or not to cop...

  3. Don't know if there is a good answer to this, but the runoff is pretty ubiquitous even on modern clothes. I've noticed it on a vintage Sears sweatshirt of mine from the 60s/70s, and even on my girlfriend's buttondown from club monaco that she bought a few months ago. Somebody on the line probably just forgot to clean up their work.

I remember finding this and cutting it off on shirts when I was a kid in the 80s

  4. 6'3" buddy whatup.

I agree, it would be good to have a thread where we can laugh at everyone who hems their jeans down below 34".

You must be at least this tall to post in this thread.

... and who rage when the 'standard' 34" inseam actually measures like, 33".

... and who unwillingly sag the fit of jeans to get a little more length

    *weep*

  5. Sorry, any way to move this? I searched and couldn't find any threads about sources for tall-sized shirts? I thought it was a bit of a bigger thing than a small question.

And as for moving it to another forum, it struck me that the superdenim folks seem to be more attuned to really good quality americana and workwear.

Sorry, I'm a) new and B) slightly retarded. Feel free to move it if need be :)

And yeah, Sixsixtie, tell me about it. I kind of want to stop wasting my money buying lots of slightly ill fitting shirts. I.e., the same joy I felt when I found BIG and realized there are places to get jeans with super long inseams. (OMG CUFFING YAY!)

Oh last thing - has anyone found any vintage Pendleton, Woolrich WM, etc. in med-tall / med-long sizes? If so FIT PICS PLOX I've been searching, but unsuccessfully.

  6. Hi guys,

I was hoping that you might be able to suggest some options. I'm looking for shirts.

I am pretty tall (just over 6'2"), with a slim neck (15.5), long sleeves (~35) and pretty narrow shoulders.

Dress shirts are generally okay, since I know a few places to get slim cut shirts with 15.5x35-36.

But when it comes to heavy flannel shirts, it's tough. I'd love to blow absurd amounts of money on a really good quality flannel shirt (Iron Heart, see pic below, or Woolrich Woolen Mills or Denham Grain, or whatever). I want something thick, heavy, good quality.

I'm willing to pay for quality. But the problem is that I can't find anyone that sells heavy flannel shirts in Medium-Tall or different neck/sleeve combos.

Can anyone suggest where I could get one? Or is there anyone who does custom flannel shirts?

And more broadly, where do tall dudes around here do their shopping?

  7. Here we go! These sizes taken after about 10 wears, no soak/wash. I presume these are sanforized but I'm not sure. The fit is great right now. Though the waist is a bit big, that's solved by a belt - and I would really not want to lose any length on the inseam as I am tall (6'2").

    UNBRANDED 'TAPERED' FIT

    TAGGED SIZE 34

    Waist 36"

    Front rise 10.5"

    Back rise 13.5"

    Upper thigh 12"

    Knee 8.75"

    Leg opening 8"

    Inseam 33"

  9. Bork: Out of curiosity, can you post up some BIG-style measurements? Specifically back rise, thigh, and leg opening.

Sure, I'll be back home tomorrow and will grab the measuring tape. Check this thread late tomorrow. :)

  11. Just copped the tapered fit. Very nice.

For the price (under $65, got them on a sale from urbanoutfitters.com), absolutely outstanding. I really like the fit - slim without being absurdly skinny. Nice details, too - blue thread selvedge, hidden rivets, chain stitched hem, etc. Can't think of any other jean I've had in this price range that's this nice.

If the posts above about Unbranded being white-labelled N&F are true, it makes sense. These are similar-ish to the N&F Weird Guys. Better, though - 'donut' fly buttons vs the smooth ones on my N&Fs.

  12. I have had the most bizarre experience with this company, just wanted to give a heads up to people.

Though people do grouse about the 1000-lb gorilla (Zappos), there's something to be said for what Zappos has done to raise the bar for customer service in online retailing - easy returns, prompt replies, flawless handling of problems, etc.

Some of these smaller shops seem to dig their own graves with customer service issues like the one you described...

  13. I don't know if that's the correct topic to adress this kind of issue so please redirect me if I'm not in the right place.

So, I would like to know if any of you have already ordered from caliroots.com. I've placed an order on Dec 28th and my order status is still '"not packed yet" as of today. I've sent an email and no answer, no infos from them. Any ideas, help?

Caliroots = add at least 6-10 days to regular shipping times when they have one of their sales. I think it used to say something to that effect on the shopping cart page when the sale was running. Anyways, they're good folks - you might have to wait a bit but you'll definitely get your merch :)

  14. Yeah - you're right, small Q. My bad, should have put it into that thread.

There are a couple deals on this pant right now (at Caliroots and RedSquare)... so I'm curious. I love the brown canvas duck, but Carhartt's US lines are really, really baggy - their european "streetwear" collection seems to have some of the same materials, but with a bit more of an appealing cut...
