I have had the most bizarre experience with this company, just wanted to give a heads up to people. They own other websites summarised on http://www.justbootsandshoes.com. Essentially, the experience I had is outlined in my email to their owner, Mark Bates, to which I haven't had a reply.........the guy obviously has an anger management issue!
Dear Mr Bates,
Don't get on the wrong side of Mr Bates. I hear he's a bit of a psycho...

Edwin Waynesville. 5+ years old. Infrequent wear combined with relatively frequent washing. Very un-Sufu. No photo-shopping or anything, I'm not that clever.

I'm pretty happy with my Schott peacoat, which is considerably cheaper although I don't know how it compares quality-wise to the BR or RMcC as I've never seen either of them.

I thought the leg twist was a fault too! Got my first raw selvage pair on a school trip to San Francisco in 1984 and also managed to find another raw pair on the ground floor of Kensington Market around '87.
Did Johnson's on the first floor sell vintage 501s too?
Afflecks Palace in Manchester was another good vintage source in the mid-late 80s.

Buying new reproduction rather than used vintage should also mean greater longevity

I have a blue RRL chambray in medium if anyone is interested. I took off the tags but never wore it because it was too big. I was hoping to get it altered, but it's just been sitting around.
I think it's time to put it up for sale as I can use the money. P2P measurement is 21". I paid $110 for it new. I'd let it go for $80. Pretty good deal for a brand new RRL chambray if you ask me. PM me if you're interested.
Could you post some pics please dochunter?

How about some reusable selvage denim toilet roll so you can check your wiping fades?

I don't think I have dkatz level of grime, but I do have 4 months of Europe traveling of grime on mine, which I'll be happy to wash off in a week as well. Going to be finally back in the states.
We do have washing machines in Europe too, you know!

I've been having a few teething problems... I screw flew off that keeps one of the feeder loops for the threads in place. Because of this there's been a little delay to a few people waiting on their jeans.
Got it all sorted today though. So, Pomata, Skeese, and Maynard Freeman, yours will all be in the post tomorrow. Paul T I've done your Lees too.
Great job on the Edwin's Cary, I'd highly recommend your work to anyone, pictures will follow in due course. Well done with the superdenim.co.uk gig too.

I visited Quarry Bank Mill many years ago and I can only echo ringring's sentiments that it's well worth a day out. It's a very evocative place - great historical interest and atmospheric, a good insight to the past.
Visit Manchester while you're there - the original Cottonopolis!

Kiya,
Will you be getting any more of the Sugar Cane purple denim shirts in stock?

Not really LVC, but I thought better to ask here than in Small Questions.
I bought a pair of Levis 541 in 2000 from a little shop in Brick Lane called Mendoza. They aren't selvage but were bought raw STF and have one back pocket with exposed rivets and a cinch and are a vintage-style, fairly high-rise cut. They don't state where they were made on the inside label.
Anyone have any information on these jeans? I only wear them for painting and decorating in now.
I'll post some pics when I set up one of those image hosting account things.

A pair of Edwins winging their way to your folks place Cary.

Is that fake jacket also RHT? The denim around the patch appears to be aligned in the opposite direction to the real one.

Doug C,
Admit it, you made them yourself didn't you? And you messed up...

Thinking of selling my 2005 201s (yes, those ones with the wrong arcuates, in a 34-34. They're just too big for me. I've hot-washed them a couple of times to get rid of the shrinkage but never worn them. I'll post pics if anyone's interested, once I work out how to set up a hosting site thingamy...
