  1. corter and hollowsleather in close succession. competing for sig link appearances? haha, j/k

mlproject i posted this before, but i race/train road/cross (much) and commute (seldom) and for both, i take the same kit: pedros icu, extra superlink/powerlink/whatever you wanna call it appropriate for my chain, planet bike peace pump mini (there is a slightly larger road version, but the mini gets the pressure up enough to ride anything home) and a spare tube/tubular. if riding a fixie, i carry something to get rr wheel on and off (front is secured with allen key skewer). find a way to get all this into one product and i'll buy it. otherwise, this does the job for me.

waiting for new wheels and need to adjust the stem. its late @ azn land now.

Whoa, hold the phone there, man. Wasn't expecting to see a frankenbike come out of this. Single-speed TT bike? Why not just fix(ed gear) it? I don't keep up with that type of frame and can't tell from the pic but are the frame ends horizontal or did you get magic gear ratios? Also, from an aesthetic point of view, I would go with bullhorns and aero bars. Aero-bars + drops look terrible to me except for very specific applications, like hill-climb TTs with certain amounts of flats.

  3. yea, i don't know. not 3, but maybe 2. i was really thorough about measuring, following his guide. maybe i didn't pull the tape tight enough on my waist but even if i do that, it's like 32.5. i could lightly tug the waistband and have 2 inches of space between my skin and the denim with the 33, at the same spot i measured. waiting to hear back from ande cause my brain is fried from a long day and i'm just confused now.

    yea, cougar. :/

my recent story is similar. went with 31 grifters as i measured myself at a pleaseant 31.5 where i like my jeans thinking they would be a little tight, stretch minimally ,etc. i get them and can pull atleast an inch of fabric at the waistline. they are grifters, tho, so because of the cut, even though the waistband is lose, they don't sag and the top block catches my hips somewhere.

been a good 6 months with my grifters, will go 6 more months before a wash. color is beginning to show that beautiful cone blueberry color.

can't wait. i am planning 6 mos - 1 yr no H2O contact (other than nap-time bed wetting and getting pushed into a hot tub full of nude supermodels).

hi guys.. Grifters.. about 1 year. 3 washes? or 4. never soaked. [pickcharrs]

cool username and very exciting results.

  4. A girl fight happened a couple weeks ago when the ex walked in on some D cups in my bed. I sorta got smacked around too. It was not pretty. My door was locked but apparently not closed all the way. FML but yay on the D cups.

    No pics, no care.

hot salsa from a peruvian ceviche joint that made my poor gf's eyes water.

no photo policy at art show = no shots of real art fart. only thing good there anyways were these artists and this craftsman. all-in-all wonderful day with beautiful cool-ish weather 55-65 degF. and, nothing better to seal young love than some slow-cooked smoked meat.

edit: on the way pic and walking pic are different days (owing to different t-shirt color), but you get the idea.

  6. i biked up to the highest point in Santa Barbara yesterday

got to the top of a mountain, La Cumbre peak: 3985ft elevation

it was 7 or 8% a good deal of the way

    pretty big accomplishment for me

    2010-02-13_165813.jpg

saw a guy in an Astana jersey while I was descending, couldn't tell if he was actually on the team though

already said this to some up above, but lean your bike up against things driveside out. it makes your bike look nicer. also, congrats on yyour accomplishment.

every once in a while i'll see a roadie out on the dirt trails i go running on, up in the hills, and i always think 'what the fuck?'

cross or road for sure? i lived in wash, dc and routinely rode my road bike on relatively smooth singletrack and a barge canal (called the W&OD) that was a lime/gravel/shell surface. good reason to ride 26c tires all the time.

Honestly, I'd just get a Kilo or some other bikesdirect number for $350. It's cheaper, new, won't be as heavy, and imo will look better. Negatives are that you probably will need to take it to a shop to be put together safely if you don't know your way around a wrench, you can't ride it before purchase, and will have to wait a few days for shipping. But I think the positives outweigh the negatives.
fuck no, that's way too expensive for something like that.

    cosign the above two.

    large-adpic1-1266222036-10926.jpg

just copped the frame and fork for the cheap

what are the plans for it? dedicated tt rig (1 chainring out front)? tri rig - bento box and seatpost bottles? (please god say no). haha j/k, nice score.

  7. freshdave i would say you dun good. i got thicker legs than you, so it looks like you coulda comfortably sized down one, no? still, tho, very nice to see more new grifter pplz and not a bad fit all around.

ps, moar updatez on the esquivels, son!!1

  8. Branes....

i think a lot of the legal code that gets tossed around is used once a crime has been perpetrated

meaning that these laws are only enforced once something bad has gone down

    ...

i really dont think the pigs are out to punish, or really even look for people, who have knives unless they use them in an agressive fashion...

^^ i'm pretty sure this is the best description of the common sense of it.

as far as using your knife as a tool for self defense against a potentially lethal attacker, don't pull it out unless you plan to kill them before they kill you. if your blade is longer than legal, save yourself, then let the law worry about it. (disclaimer: only take this advice after consulting your local statutues... some less redneck areas of the country will probably not help you for killing someone in self defense)

    That sucks.

I recently walked up to a couple of cops at a Starbucks just to be sure of the laws, be completely sure of the law around here. I show them both my SOG Access Card BK (2.75") and my SOG Aegis BK (3.5") and they were cool about it. They told me to keep the SOG at home, because the law for LA County is 3" and that my Access Card is fine. They also warned that it's usually best to get a 2.5" blade because some cops will actually measure the entire blade, from tip to handle, including un-sharpened areas.

that would be douche of the cops to measure.

on a related note, i decided to up my daily carry from a puny 2.5" delica 4 to a more robust and slightly more illegal 3.5" endura 4.

the delica is a little beat (scratches/gouges on handle and sractches on blade from real use) and needs some tlc from prospective new owner, but would anyone wanna trade for edc related goodies? (would be willing to hear about other edc stuff from sunglasses to watches to prybars to flashlights to keyhooks, etc. you get the idea). lemme know in pm and i can send pics or info or whatever.

  9. When I study so hard on a test and end up getting a C.

i feel ya. i'm in med school and i am happy with Cs.

i'm always generous with my cigarettes (good smoking karma) but this stupid fat canadian guy in my french class is seriously pushing his luck. i straight up said said 'i have to make this pack last until friday' he says, 'i'll get you back on thursday.' next time i'm just gonna say 'NO FUCK OFF.' forget trying to shut people down with tact.

probably should give him all y our cigarettes. good way to not get lung cancer.

  10. Fiddy Would rep, but gotta spread. Those Cougars look good, as does the whole ensemble. I got the Grifters posted a couple pages back and must say that a Cougar sized down one from AW size (true waist) will be my next pair.
