  1. Dang, just got a pair of S710XX in a 32. After a hot soak the waist fits me perfectly... wondering if I should have gotten a 31 at least, the legs are a little baggy for my taste. I just did another hot soak so I will see.

I see a lot of advice to go TTS on the S710xx, but a lot people who do seem to be disappointed in the fit. of course, it depends on the fit you are going for, but i'm really starting to think that the best way to properly size most jeans is by the thigh measurement rather than the waist measurement. my true waist (or at least the measurement where my jeans sit on my hips) is 35", but all my jeans are size 33. For the longest time, i assumed my waist was 33" because size 33 always fit me best, it wasn't until i got into the whole raw denim thing that i actually bothered to measure my waist. most jeans that i know of will stretch plenty in the waist, even my 23 oz. iron hearts stretched easily enough. you can find my fit pics on this thread, the iron heart thread, and the hdc thread and judge for yourself. it's not like i like my jeans skin tight. i just pay the most attention to the thigh measurement when deciding which size to order.

I'm not trying to contradict anyone else, i'm just sharing what i've discovered in my journey.

  2. They look great, Seul. I have a pair of 007's that have been neglected ever since I bought my Samurai's, which is a shame since they were just getting some interesting fades and I love the denim. One of these days I've gotta get those back into rotation. Can't wait to see how yours develop.

  3. I know what you mean. Mine are going much more slowly than yours since I don't get to wear them much, but I can tell that they're going to be amazing someday. This denim is no joke.

  4. Diggin' the fit, everyinchofgod. Did you end up going with the alden edition?

Yes, those are the Alden edition. I was torn between these and the 666-XHS, but I went with these because I thought I might be able to pull off wearing these at work since they look a bit dressier (no such luck), and because they are pretty unique. Plus they were available, and the 666-XHS weren't. I'm pretty happy with my choice, these are awesome.

  5. Two more fit pics after 4 days of cheating on my Samurai's:

It's gonna be hard to not wear these for a while, but I'm committed to the Heavyweight Denim Competition for the remainder of the year. I may cheat a few times with these though. Willpower is not one of my strengths.

  6. Thanks guys. Indeed I wear them when they're still a bit damp. And my normal working days consist of sitting in the car for 2 hours and sitting at the desk all day. So my knees are always bent. Can't really find another explanation...indeed I wonder how people can wear jeans for months and not get combs, sorry.

That must be it, because I am on my feet all day at work, and it takes forever for my combs to develop.

  7. Umm, Seul, I'm not sure there's a delicate way to say this, so I'll just come right out and say it. There is some seriously weird shit going on with your head. You might want to get that checked out. ;)

  8. @ everyinchofgod: My tagged 32s measured closer to a 33" to start with... You can stretch 'm an inch, sure... It'll be a slow and painful process but hey...

So if they started out measuring 33", what do they measure now?

  9. Has anyone gotten more than .5" stretch in the waist of your 666-xhs? I'm Still conflicted about what size to order. The thigh and leg opening measurements on the size 33 are perfect, but I'd need the waist to stretch a full inch and I'm not sure it's possible with the 25 oz. denim. I know I should probably just order the 34's, but I've ordered size 34 in other jeans twice before and been disappointed with the fit.
