  1. In your experience how much has shipping been from Tezo to the states? I'm interested but wanted to more info from someone experienced with them.

    Jon ships via EMS Japan. The shipping will depend on the weight of the package. Here is the shipping schedule from EMS Japan: http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/download/ems-charges_en.pdf. If you only order a few t-shirts, the shipping cost to US should be around 3200 yen or less.

    Jon handles all oversea orders for Tezomeya now. He will only charge Paypal fee + cost of items + shipping, no proxy fees.

  2. Thanks, found it. Still unsure as to how it differs from the previous one, will check out some stockists.

    The differences are minor. 1939 has all yellow stitching, the fly buttons does not have the lemon oxidation and obviously the lightning arc. FW is also about to release a 1951 601XX as well. From what I seen, it doesn't look too different from the 1939 model. The back pockets are blank. I think the denim are the same for all models...at least they are all 14oz. From what I recall, the warp and weft on 1947 are made of different cottons. The weft is made of single source long staple cotton and the warp is made of mixture of short staple cotton.

  3. Start wearing mine today. The denim settles very quickly. Not overly stiff after the wash.  I wanted a looser vintage fit with hip flare and all.....it seems I got what I wanted. I am rocking a 3" single cuff. I will take some fit pics this weekend.

    For some reason, I really like the look of the red tabs. I am also keeping the horizontal line, it will disappear with wear anyways.

  4. Got mine today. Love the texture of the fabric. Super dark denim with little white specks. Glad I sized up to 34. Gonna soak them tonight. This will be close to a WWII fit for me. I really like the red tabs.

    Raw measurements

    Size:34

    Waist: 88cm

    FR: 32cm

    RR: 41cm

    UT: 35cm

    Knee: 26.5cm

    LO: 24cm

    Inseam: 92cm

  5. It depends on what kind of look you want, loose/vintage look or for fitted look. Waist will stretch but the top block will not stretch as much as the waist. WH modified the top block to eliminate hip flare with this 1003 model unless you size up. To be honest you will be taking a risk sizing down one.

  6. Just to make sure: The Flat Head THC series are not "loopwheeled" - most of their other tees are.

    Yes. Thanks for pointing that out. I need to stop drinking while writing.

    To clarify, the comparisons I wrote earlier is with THC series since that's the most common type of flathead t-shirt, at least I think they are, maybe not. Comparing FH loopwheeled fabric and Tezomeya, when I say opposite, I mean this: FH loopwheeled fabric is more uniform and heavier. Tezomeya is irregular and lighter weight. The only FH tee I have that's loopwheeled is the FLT-01.

  7. Now, we only need to get people to understand that tubular knits can be cut open enabling a fully cut 'n' sewn tee (or any other type of garment) construction and not only tubular tees.

    The other question that had been raised frequently was regarding the possibility to clearly distinguish between "loopwheeled" and regular knits by just looking at the knits...

    I agree. Tezomeya and Flat Head loopwheeled fabrics are on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

    Both in feel of the fabric and looks.

  8. How would you compare those shirts just in terms of fabric and quality? What's your favorite?

    My top three: Tezomeya, Flat Head and Freewheelers in that order. Tezomeya is very comfortable and very breathable. The fabric feels fluffy. The natural dye put them over the top for me. The irregular fabric and the slightly frayed collar edge IMO match well with the natrual dye. Flat Head's construction wins hands down. The fabric is smooth and thick but does not breath as well as Tezomeya. It traps my sweat more compared to Tezomeya. Freewheelers t-shirts, not loopwheeled nor tubular, feel very comfortable. At least the light and mid weight fabric. FW's heavy weight T can feel a bit rough. However, I like a lot of FW's prints (vintage coporate logos, 60s political slogans and vintage ads prints). I also like the fact that a lot of FW shirt have different collor collar.  Fit wise for me FH wins. I also love the fit of FW t-shirts. Tezomeya's fit is a bit sloppy but I think it matches well with the look of the irregular fabric and the natural dye.

  9. I am 5'0" with 39" chest. I wear large in Japanese t-shirts. Tezomeya's 175cm is similar to other Japanese brands' size large. I have FlatHead, Warehouse, Fullcount, Tender, Freewheelers and Cushman t-shirts. Let me know if you need size comparison with any one of those brands.

  10. After machine wash on gentle cycle with cool water and hang dry, it shrunk about 1cm in length. Shoulder and chest stayed the same.

    size: 175cm

    shoulder: 47cm ---> 47cm

    chest: 101 cm ---> 101 cm

    length(top of collar to the hem): 66.5cm ---> 65.5cm
