  1. UkeNo - welcome to SuFu. One of many unwritten rules. Don't start a thread for each jean model. The other Roy threads are for the world tour and the contest.

I do share your excitement about the new Roy jean.

  2. Ed, from your pic the 15th 1001 seems slightly darker than the new 1001xx. Is it just the lighting? Are they different? Can you see any difference between them?

Also +1 on what Slab said about the details.

  3. Thanks Aho. Can't rep you. Compare to your 1001XX, would you say the 1000xx is slimmer from the thigh down or the top block is slimmer as well? Also, is it just me or the belt loops are flat?

arya_triad - My guess is that Warehouse base the 700XX/1004XX on a pair of 30s 501XX with the Wrangler back yoke.

  4. 1004XX is basically the 700 with 15th 1001XX denim. I would consider getting 1004XX if different denim was used.

Compare to 1000XX (including the older models), 660 is slimmer with a slightly lower rise. 660 is also tapered where 1000XX/1001XX are straight cuts. The current 1000xx is based on the 700 cut. I don't think there's much difference between them in terms of the cut. Aho can compare his 700J vs 1000XX next week and let us know if there's any significant difference between them.

  5. Is that official? Only the 15th 1003xx denim is truly limited. I am still thinking about getting the 1000XX. I like the high red tab position of the new 1000XX.

  6. Looking at the translated text, sounds like the it just the weft but looking at the original text looks like it's 6 x 6: (経ムラ6番 緯ムラ6番). I am not sure if it is any different from the 15th 1003 denim though.

Maynard Friedman - the new 1000xx is based on the current 700 cut....should not be too different from DD108.

  7. I am very tempted. Not sure if the "heavy ounce" 6 x 6 denim is the same denim as the 700 or something different. I just noticed the coin pocket and the back pockets have irregular stitching and the vertical stitching connecting the front and the back comes pretty far down compare to the 1001XX.

  8. Setterman - Yup. 1000XX is basically the 700 without the cinch and crotch rivet and also smaller back pockets. Seems like Warehouse is just going back to the pre-lawsuit naming system. The difference between the 1001XX and 1000XX had always been very minor. The differences are mostly the denim, leather patch, and the stitching style. I think at one point, 1000XX is closer to 40s cut and 1001XX is closer to 50s cut.
