  1. i started a count in my head of everytime i could of used a knife.

once it gets to 25 i'll buy.

    i'm on 2.

You probably don't count as much as you'd actually use it. If you know you have a knife on you, you'll find some way to use it, haha

I sharpened a pencil at a bar last night at trivia because I was boxed in and didnt want to get a new one.

    Need recommendations for the following:

A capsule thats big enough to hold a couple sets of earplugs. I have a plastic case, but its starting to not stay closed due to overuse.

And a lastly, a flashlight thats powerful but fits on keys. I just need something for when I need to quickly shine a light.

Pricing isn't a big deal, but obviously I'm not made of money....

Maybe a candy tin? Or just an old altoids tin. Or the ones with a little lock/snap like on shoe polish cans.

Also, these earplugs are the shit if you want to upgrade your earplugs

As for a lite, 4sevens Quark, Fenix, and Nitecore make great lights that use a single AA battery. I have a nitecore ex10 r2.

look at www.4sevens.com or www.cfrlights.com and see what you like.

    Yo.

Nitecore EX10 R2. It's perfect for what I want, nice and small, adjustable beam, max 145 lumens, min 3 lumens, can be adjusted all the way in between. it can be a twisty or a clicky, the piston drive system is SUPER smooth and quiet. I can turn it on with a click, and I have is set to a pretty low lumen, maybe like 20. if I click click-hold, it ramps up to 145, double click and it ramps down to 3 lumens. Click-hold and it will adjust up or down, remembering the last setting if you turn it off. And to top it all off, the Fenix diffuser fits perfectly.

Also came with a little ring and a super small clip for a keychain, perfect EDC light.

CFRLights is great. Ordered on thursday night, got my light today. :thumbs up:

Ever since I was a kid and seeing my first Swiss Army, Everday Carry shit fascinated me yet I didn't know it ever got as organized and classified as "EDC"... can't believe it took this long haha.

I've been looking at multi-tools and most notably the SOG PowerAssist B66 in Black Oxide... anything else to consider? There seems to be good reviews of the Victorinox Spirit S.

SOG multitools are very nice. Don't own own because I have my leatherman wave and juice S2, but two of my friends have SOG multitools and are very pleased with them.

my usual ALL BLACK EVERYTHING that i take to school:

but this is what i'll be bringing on a trip to the mountains lol, so unprepared

and here's an extra shot of my "first aid". the purple thing is a pair of gloves and the blue thing is a plastic bag.

What's that light between your knife and pen in first pic. Streamlight?

  3. ^^ i need a fast drying pen being a lefty and all.. my hand gets tore up

    btw anyone want a shard?

I'd take but I have no use for a prybar. If i need one I'll grab a cats paw, blue bar or a hammer from my trunk.

Got my Nitecore EX10 R2, it's exactly what I wanted, I'll post a review later.

  4. Indeed, but i found it VERY difficult to get a consistent angle as the angle is dependent on how straight you can hold your knife. A lot of sharpeners are like this.

With that said, I use the sharpmaker and like it for touch ups and stuff. To reprofile your edge (new angle) i would NOT recommend the sharpmaker...because it takes hours to do that. but for small stuff, it's fine. takes like 30 seconds after practice.

if you're looking for something more serious, look up the edge pro.

oh and you can find the sharpmaker for like 50 bucks on other sites.

reprofiling/ sharpening. Two completely different things. And for the majority of people and their knives, you will never need to reprofile your edge unless you want to, or unless you somehow fucked it up.

  5. would never do a multitool... looking into an unassisted knife... i used to carry a switch when i was younger for the fuck of it and never got popped... decisions decisions.

NYC is BAD for knives, in general. Just get an unassisted blade and don't flaunt it or whip it out trying to be a badass and you'll be fine.

    NYE carry:

    wallet

    phone

    Moet&Chandon imperial champagne

    Makers mark

  6. picked up some stuff today

    for me:

    Leatherman Juice S2

dad's christmas gift, hopefully he digs it

thing is solid as fuck, and the blades actually lock into place:

    Leatherman Super Tool 300

The Juice S2 is the best small EDC multi-tool and great for small camping/backpacking trips. I've been EDCing my s2 for about 4 months.

Knott's security check is laughable. Mommy packed like a 3ft deep bag full of snacks for the kiddos, the du barely skimmed the top without moving anything around.

I'm so surprised on how many metal detectors i've gotten through with 1-2 knives on me. At a Red Wings game the women just hand their huge purses to the security guy and they don't even look in them, could easily have a gun in them.

That's exactly what I've been looking for.

  7. People that legally carry guns don't shoot people at random.

People that illegally carry guns are criminals.

It's that simple. I wrote a research paper on legally carrying a firearm, and the statistics don't show that allowing law-abiding citizens doesn't raise crime rates. People that legally carry aren't gun nuts, they're people that want to be and feel safe, and don't go randomly shooting someone because they got cut off on the highway.

Before you start bashing CCW or CPL (carrying concealed pistol, concealed pistol license) at least know the facts.

Almost all large scale shootings happen in "gun free zones" Fort Hood was another example of this. Criminals are ALWAYS going to have guns and have guns on them, so allowing law-abiding citizens to carry just levels the field.

Two great sites if you have 20 minutes, if nothing else to know your state laws.

  8. Juice is a bit too big for the coinpocket, I've actually had it in there before and it fell out twice, so now it stays in the holster.

No modes on the surefire, its about 5 years old and only has one mode. I'm ordering a nitecore ex10 r2 to put on my keychain since the E2D is a bit big for EDC.

If I need to look a patient's pupils I use a small penlight that has the pupil sizes marked on the side of it. Anything else is too bright as I don't want to blind my patients, ha.

  9. Made a EDC vid

    Chapstick - Burt's Bees

    Phone - LG shine

Flashlight - Surefire E2D Executive Defender

    Multitool - Leatherman Juice S2

Knife - CRKT PECK, Spyderco Assist2
