When the 27-year-old ordered a special monster-design slipper to fit his oversized left foot, he was sent this size 1,450 one – because manufacturers failed to spot a decimal point.
He had requested a 14.5, as well as a smaller size 13 for his right foot. The pair cost £15.50.
However, manufacturers in China misread the measurement and accidentally made the whopping seven foot-long slipper, which was shipped to him along with the correct smaller size.
Now 6ft 7in Mr Boddingham, who wears custom-made shoes because of the different sizes of his feet, will sell it on eBay.
‘It was sent directly from Hong Kong and measures 210 x 130 x 65cm – the same length as a grizzly bear or a family car,’ said Mr Boddingham, from Ilford, Essex. ‘I must be the owner of the biggest slipper in the world.
‘I’m going to sell it online, and if I can make a few quid out of it then all the better.’
Online slipper company Monster Slippers – which is based in Dunmow, Essex, and has the motto ‘for the animal in you’ – apologised to Mr Boddingham and has not charged him any extra. A spokesman explained the mistake occurred because of a ‘translation error’.
‘We are making him a replacement slipper of the right dimensions,’ he added.
Apparently workers in the slipper factory assumed his giant order was for a shop window display.

OK, so I'm definitely loving this thread! Help a guy out movie heads.
Animated movie, maybe from the 70's. Little naked people are kept as pets by giant "civilized" people. Sometimes the civilized giants raid the littles area and crush them. Eventually the littles progress enough to blast-off to a different world.
I might be fucking-up some details since I saw this when I was 8 or 9, but have been trying (albeit, not too hard) to find it for a while.
La Planète Sauvage?

I have a passing obsession with the polymath Joe Davis at the moment. I find "smart shit" nearly always goes best with "weird shit".

Physics has got to the point where I can't even really follow the significance of the research that is awarded the Nobel prize each year. #toosmartshit.

This movie still disappoints me so much, I feel like if they had just had a little more restraint it would have been great.
Watched it blazed and it still disappointed me. The concept feels like it could have been executed so much better.

anything otc that can help with nerves before making a speech?
This reply gave me a mental image of the most awesome speech ever delivered.
The real trick is to drink the whole bottle.
There is nothing OTC, but any good doctor should be able to script you for a short course of benzos (any will do) if you convince them that you have paralysing levels of public speaking anxiety.

OCEAN, what the fuck are you talking about? That fit is fucking terrible. I'm not usually a hater, but alex's fits range from decent (a few) to pedestrian (most) to fucking terrible (this one).
NBs should never be worn with jeans and Western gear. FACT. The only time I ever see runners with jeans is on old-ass academics at chemistry conferences and on tasteless gay men.
Shoes should never come in eye-rape colorway.

Gus wore a tan suit when he went to meet with Don Eladio, when he went to the nursing home he had a navy blue suit.
I stand corrected. A friend suggested the suit thing to me, but I haven't had a chance to confirm it yet. I'll assume he was wrong.

why did gus go confront hector? seems like an unlikely misstep for him. if he killed hector right after hector spoke with the dea, wouldn't it be pretty obvious who done it? maybe gus figured he was done either way.
I thought it was brilliant that Gus became undone because of his emotional desire for personal vengeance. He is usually completely flat and utiliatarian when it comes to violence.
Gus went to kill Hector personally because Hector was the last remaining connection to the cartel.... it didn't hurt that Hector killed his brother years earlier.I think it was purely about complete venegance. My buddy noted that Gus was wearing the same jacket at the nursing home as he wore when his partner was killed. (It wasn't his brother btw, it was his business partner, possibly also lover. I enjoy the speculation that Gus is gay, but there is not much to substantiate it.)
I agree that it was a poor choice on Gus' part. The moment he stepped out of the car in the nursing home parking lot, I looked at a buddy of mine and said "Gus is fucking up". Yes, he wanted the "job" done correctly, but he made it way too personal. He failed to separate his emotions from his job, and it cost him his life.This.
if he killed hector right after hector spoke with the dea, wouldn't it be pretty obvious who done it? maybe gus figured he was done either way.I assumed Hector's death was to come from insulin overdose, which I've been told is frequently difficult to identify as homicide. I remember the case of a nurse killing many elderly hospital patients this way and it took many months before she was identified as a suspect.
