You should be, they're looking great. :-)

House, that looks like a really great pair of jeans. Seriously, if I could have that cut in button fly, it might be a perfect pair. I think you should. :-)

I think people are hesitant because of the new cotton, too, so they're not exactly flying off the shelves. Has anyone bought a pair with the new cotton, yet? Thoughts?

@offya: That's the best fit I've seen on you out of all the pairs you've got.

Diaper ass is part of owning APCs :-/ It's the way they angle the pockets outward and make them really small. Once the ass stretches, you get that diaperish look. It's no big deal. They still look great. At the prices that selvage jeans are going for these days, APCs are a pretty solid pair if you're not going to spring for the Japanese brands.

Prob not comparable in fading qualities, but honestly, that new Ralf cut looks pretty spot on, despite the selvage coin pocket. I have a pair of Ralfs that I wore really hard a few years back and they haven't even begun to fight. If they were cut like the new one, I might wear them more. For 150, though, the APC NS may be a more solid pair of jeans. Just a thought. My experience with Nudies has been better than most, though.

Haha, the Bootcut Ola...wow, that's like a Nudie's Vintage Collection piece these days. :-) Look really great.

Okay, I'll say it, too....
@jun41: Those Skulls are insane. You need to keep wearing them, they're just now getting good. They'll start disintigrating in about 6 months and look incredible. :-)

The point of an initial soak is to "shrink them to fit", similar to vintage Levi's. Nowadays, it really only applies to unsanforized denim....not APCs...no "shrink to fit" involved. Soaking them will make no difference. Just wear them. The stacks will settle, and the creases will set in, they'll look great. Don't think so hard on them.

They look like the wrangler cowboy cuts you can get at wal-mart. Maaaybe Lee but the denim doesn't look like Levi's to me.
btw, I own a pair of 47s from 2006 also, and those 47s a few pages back are quite epic. Now, put in another year to two years of wear they'll be ridiculous.

@ranonranonorat: That's a pretty incredible freaking post. Great lineup. What's the listing of the jeans? I can tell brands, and deduce the models but it'd be great to have a readout. :-)

Let's not forget the sheer amount of overhead in a first year subsidiary like XX, lots of new branding, distribution, sample costs, highly experienced veterans as new executives, not to mention variable costs like simply keeping the freaking lights on. :-)
Supply, demand, and so on. It makes sense that with LVC no longer being Levi's Corp loss leader, they'd need to mark up the price point a bit. Additionally, I think they're trying hard to align themselves with more exclusive, higher dollar markets and so, from a consumer perception standpoint, it's good for them to price themselves in the 200 USD and up range. Most people aren't scouring sufu for facts on denim quality, authenticity and such. They walk into a little shop and see "exact replicas" of 40s and 50s STF Levi's and there's a novelty in that.
All that being said, I still wait to find them on sale. :-)

@kiya: You used to change out jeans every few months. As an owner of a denim shop and the jean pimp of sufu, it's nuts that you've clung to the RJBs for so long. There must be something special about them. Amazing looking jeans, indeed!

@Leonard Leroy: What a clutch post. Incredible pair of jeans. Fit pics?

This guy man. So defensive, 'fraid of that neg.
I could care less about rep. Just didn't want to see the thread go into a fury over a question, as threads can often do.

Yep, thanks, just did the three seconds of research. :-) Sometimes even the best of us will ask stupid questions, cheers!

P.S. I've never been a huge PBJ fan so I rarely check the thread. Sorry if I'm a bit late on that fit :-)

Wow, braid, the fit is incredible on those, one of the better of the japanese slim fits being done, today. Never seen that fit before, where can I find them?

@mdngndP: How long? How many washes?

@PaulT: I think you've fully convinced me to buy some '55s. Although, I'd like to have one pair true sized, and one sized down, true sized for the Brando look (out of sheer respect), sized down for the look I'd prefer for myself. What can I say, I still love slim fitting jeans.

@opethrapture: What type of denimz?

I've worn my New Cures for about 8 months, now. Only sized down 1. Problem is the same as you, enojy. I couldn't go down another size because my legs wouldn't fit them (and I have very small legs, too), and now the upper box is super stretched. They still look great, though, so I suppose just stick it out, you'll be fine. Just be ready for a fit that ends up like mine. :-)

@PaulT: I'm know it's heresy, but I don't care. You think I could size a pair of 55's down enough to make them as slim as my 47s? I may be wrong, but the denim looks nicer. Maybe it's just the abundant wear you've got. :-)

Sooo....about those discount codes? ;-)
...too soon?

How about this '55 fit? Seem a tad slim? Because I'm one of the only folks on this board that still likes slim jeans, I think it looks pretty cool. But it still seems very slim for a '55. Downsized?
