I've always heard Sophia was a really good school... but I chose it because it was the only school in my exchange program in Tokyo. Its just one semester, my degree will come from my university in Canada.
TokyoBro, I booked my ticket with Aeroplan round trip, thanks for the link though ill keep it in mind if i take any excursions. Im going to try to meet some friends in HK or Thailand in December

this thread makes me feel better and worse at the same time.
i was serving at a buffet bruch once to a woman who was with her autistic son. the son makes a brutal mess and they finish up. i thought id be a nice guy, she obviously has a hard time... dealing with an autisitc child is no joke, right? so i decide ill take the sons meal off the bill, give her a break, he didnt eat much anyway.
she comes up and is like oh you forgot one of the meals and i look at the son and say oh dont worry about that. then i give an ugh face becasue i said "that" not "him" or "your son" then she gives me an ugh face back like thanks for your fucking pity you fucking herb. all of this is followed by *awkward silence* and me peacing out to the kitchen for five minutes while she pays and leaves. felt bad. must suck to not only have an autistic son but to have people throw it in your face all the time, even if they mean well

i keep lurking this thread in anticipation of studying in shinjuku this fall. sounds like you guys have fun
anyway i booked my flight yesterday and reserved an apartment today. i feel sketchy about booking something sight unseen in a place ive never been, but this is the best deal ive come across so far. its close to the line i need (maranouchi) and its furnished. i couldve had one for ¥500 cheaper in koenji but i slept on it and it got taken.
any feedback on this place is welcome(decent deal? horrible deal?). and if you have any tips on a room (with private bath, kitchen and laundry) close to shinjuku on the nambuko, maranouchi or JR, ive still got time before i pay my deposit

I brought these up earlier - I really like them and they're built tough as nails... which model is the wayfarer-esque shape though? Can't really tell. I've got a friend with them, but I never got the model # from her.
im not sure exactly how the naming conventions for vuarnet go but theres the px2000 002 that are cat eye shaped and the px2000 006 which look a bit like ksubi ifoulds.
edit: looks like the px#### is the lens id. 006 and 002 are the models

The restaurant I work at has a scotch tasting the first Tuesday of every month. I've been lucky enough to try some very nice scotch over the last year or two. Glenmorangie sherry and port casks, Hakushu, Yamazaki, Bruichladdie 10 and Aberlour 12 standout in my mind. The last tasting was 5 different bottlings of Laphroaig, which didnt really suit me, but it was nice to try.
I'm poor so I usually just drink Grant's Family Reserve or Aberlour 10 if I'm feeling saucey

They're fucking with you man. This isnt gaijinpot. No one wants to party with someone based solely on the fact that hey are a foreigner in tokyo. In fact, most of them seem to do their best to avoid foreigners in tokyo at any cost.
Can you blame them?
