  1. I think i read somewhere that william gibson had his buzz ma-1 custom-made and lengthened approximately 3 inches longer in the back.  anyone have pics of that? (perhaps a side view?  i've only seen a front shot)

ma-1s usually droop forward, which is a smart move on his part.

just curious, any ma-1s with an elongated back only?

Pie 'N Burger - Double cheeseburger, extra cheese, medium rare, no lettuce, no tomato, easy spread

This burger turned me into a believer.  I usually prefer classic burgers nowadays, though I've had a number of pretty good gourmet burgers in San Francisco and New York.  But whenever I crave a burger, I go classic-style, every time.  It's the same way I make my burgers at home anyway.

  3. haha two mentions of hearst castle in one page. that rare shit.

it's so weird hearing food recs between la and sf. i always try to make that drive as fast as possible so i'm used to stopping by wtvr fast food next to the gas station if i have to eat.

i agree with you, there aren't really any noteworthy food stops between LA and SF, aside from a few quirky diners

sorry, my sentence was constructed horribly.  let me rephrase:

"you will eat some of the greatest chinese food in LA and in SF

(this list is from some dude who apparently has eaten at over 6,000+ chinese restaurants, which is totally insane and inspiring at the same time)

and between those two cities, chinese food doesn't get much better than that, in my opinion.  canada has some good chinese restaurants too from what i've heard... but that's a different thread

  4. i've always wanted to go to the winchester mystery house in san jose

that place looks sick, but then again, i have shitty tourist tendencies

i would definitely make a detour to see hearst castle and big sur

and obviously eat lots of chinese food between the LA and SF areas

for cheeseball tourist inspiration, i recommend you watch california's gold with huell howser

    (classic)
