    14abgj4.jpg

    2eq8fhh.jpg

Red is New In Box, $85 shipped

Black is New Without Box, $68 shipped

I believe retail on these was $100.

    PM with any interest.

Apologies to those who frown upon this sort of thing.

  2. the money does go to research

and there's a lot of ppl that aren't very informed on prostate cancer

my goal is to raise funds AND awareness.

and i'm sorry the classiness of the mustache gets cheapened by a fundraiser.

You neg rep me for that? Tight.

My only point was that most males are aware of prostate cancer, like most females are aware of breast cancer. Money raised is a good thing, but if its not going towards research then it is a waste in my opinion.

No need to get salty, but apparently you caught feelings anyway.

  3. to bump this a bit

For all of you facial hair growers (myself included)

    November is now Movember

    Mustache x November

Purpose of Movember - grow a mustache for the entire month

why would i do that? - to raise money / awareness for prostate cancer

what do you want from me? - join me, support me, or laugh. its up to you.

how can i donate? - http://ca.movember.com/mospace/265614 (or click the link in my sig)

Help out this great cause, or do it yourself!

    more info:

    www.movember.com

No one needs to be made more "aware" of prostate cancer. People are up already. Maybe raise money for research.

Either way, things like Movember cheapen the mustache.

  4. Kinokuniya in nyc has the magazine in stock.

    Worth noting:

-Ja, Rza, Puffy, Koston interviews are in both english and japanese

-Introduction by West, who likens working at supreme and the creative process to his days spent writing graffiti.

-Nate Lowman artist feature, John Lurie Interview, and Jean Touitou Interview are japanese only

-Aron is the obligatory Terry x NYC Supreme crew fash editorial

-Other fash editorial is skaters in London. Probably famous but i dont skate or care.

-the Vans 106 are canvas for the camo and suede for the solid colors

-4 new tees featured (if the old ladies scanner works i can try to get pics)

-In one photo Aron looks like a Puerto Rican lesbian. Age 40.

  5. I can't resist. Partly because its a slow friday for project management and partly because I enjoy reading this thread and feel like I can actually contribute to it for once regarding the last 2 pages.

I wear Supreme. I like the clothing for how it looks and even their current price point is still within my budget. The last 2 A/W seasons have seen them putting out product that would fall into Clothing for The Great Outdoors. It all looks good, colors are nice, keeps with the original make up (i.e ripping off and duplicating), and is easily accessible with their store fronts and website.

However, with no basis of my own for comparison, I can say the quality and function is shit. Like awful. They have always had shit quality, unless they are using a company like Alpha Industries, but they somehow have made their bones has a company that is known for "sturdy", well put together garments. Only my opinion, but its always been undeserved. Some who post in this thread and the Supreme thread, may agree or may not.

I think its safe to say that the clothing in this thread is the coming trend (like it or not, I don't see it getting smaller in scope) for a market outside of those that read and contribute here and you could argue that Supreme (specifically Brendan Babenzien) recognize this. Why they choose to put out ripped off designs, that more importantly seldomly function as well as the product they are copying (according to statements made in this thread and my own opinion of garments that they have ripped off from other non Outdoors clothing brands), could be for innumerable reasons that I will never actually know.

Two worth speculating are: 1) They want maximum profit for minimal effort and simply reappropriatting a design and putting their logo on it, sending it off to China to be made cheaply, will achieve this goal. Totally possible.

Or 2) They actually are aware that their customer base is much like Shoreman and are "a failure as an outdoorsman" and wont actually wear these itmes for their true purpose, so why put forth the effort if its just going to be worn by the trend savy living and influenced by metropolitan cities (opinion but LA, NYC, Tokyo seem to be their biggest markets and the lesser markets still seem to be a city). Also totally possible.

Watching people snatch quality and repackaging it as shit is painful but its been going on just as long as companies grabbing a social trend or fashion movement and turning it into mass consumerism.

I like this thread a lot and freely admit that I'm new to the topic (actually had to ask someone the meaning of 60/40 the other day) so please if you feel i've made statements in error, be easy.

My supreme mountain parka wont repel the tears.

  6. right, so even at 30/40% off supreme are still making money on sale items (we assume they don't sell wholesale at a loss).

With that Alpha is obviously making and Supreme is paying them, but would i be out of line in assuming that cost was $88? If that isnt too far off selling 1 fishtail at $298 covers the cost to make 3.3 jackets.

I got to say Fogg, I dont really see your logic in that a Jacket (not specifically Coltrane, just a Jacket that might not be too popular but lends cache to the brand) would have them at a loss on the item.

  7. This seasons Fishtail is $188/298 wholesale/retail so while it does dispute my mark up theory it does give a point of reference.

I can say from my own experience as a past manager of a boutique (streetwearzzzzz) that was owned and operated by a company with its own clothing line, I personally unpacked an entire production run of Tech Jackets that was just north of 30 pieces. Factories are a dime a dozen in China/Hong Kong and there are plenty that will cater to a small numbers company.

    Just saying....again.

  8. . But that doesn't take into account paying the design staff, freight to get the product to stores, duty, tax or other costs.

Even with all the poor decisions they made over the years, the staff/office/design team is paid handsomely.

Wholesale accounts don't get the whole line, and don't get much of what they do get, but I get your point.

They may not pick it up, but the entire line is made available to them.

The stores don't create the demand, though, they just are the medium for selling it. No matter if they have 17 outlets or 1,700 if its not an interesting piece it still sits. The number of stores might mean that they need to produce enough to furnish product to them, but it doesn't mean that the product would sell. My point about the minimums was more that, if the minimum is 300 you would want to be pretty sure you can sell close to 300 if you want to keep the brand healthy, not so much that you'd need somewhere to put 300 pieces.

Minimums on a jacket are not that high. The factories Supreme is using, i'm sure realize they are dealing with smaller company that has lower production runs. Take the dumbest jacket you can think of and maybe 30 are produced, if cost is traditionally 1/3 of retail, than sell 10 and you have broken even for that item.

Supreme can sell 10 dumb things.

    I

  9. According to their site, Supreme has 7 Retail Locations and 10 Wholesale Accounts globally. Not sure what # you had in mind for minimums, but i'd say 17 outlets for product plus a web store could probably create a demand to meet any product minimum.

Even on an item that hits 50% discount, Supreme isnt operating at a loss, as they are the maker and their cost is more than likely 50% of the deep sale price.

    Just saying.

  10. no loose gauge (titled Basic Beanie this year?) as of yesterday. They have the fine gauge and twisted yarn i think.

Personally my favorite beanies are the ones they use for the patch beanies, just less the patch. Its the most worm and holds its shape with heavy wear (bobo street vender ones always end up warping after a month). Price is usually the same or $2 more, so really buying something and removing that "special" quality still makes sense to me and I end up with a plain beanie by supreme.

  11. Flank steak is too lean. You need something fattier. I think ribeye is traditional. It should be sliced very thin so it cooks quickly.

You could very well be right. i've never asked the type of cut used, just always assumed.

Also, Amorsos rolls are the ones most widely used. Not D'ambrosios.
