whats the consensus on sizing the 1000 mile wolverines? same size as RW and Aldens?
My pair of 1000 miles in size 10 fit me perfectly, in both length and width, whereas my GT's in size 11 fit me well in width, but are longer than necessary. I initially bought a size 10.5 in the GT's, but they were crushing my feet width-wise. Keep in mind, I bought the 1000 miles used, so it's possible that the previous owner felt the same discomfort with them as I did with my GT's and somehow managed to endure the pain and stretch them out.
Hope that helps.

what's the point of double-strap monks if you don't buckle both? lookin' good, regardless.

plus rep, neomulette (both the warehouses and evisus look great) and cjsmalls (hoping my 0500s turn out half that nice!)
Had these since last summer, probably only 5 months of wear (or less) with 3 washes and a few soaks, including a heavy machine wash/dry the other night after a week of being worn for painting a stage set.

I very much like it! Very spiffy and cool outfit. Great fit, too.

I wore them for a few weeks without a soak, then wore them in the tub, then eventually soaked them on their own, and then finally put them through a machine wash. I did all that because they were pretty damn tight.
All in all, they've probably been soaked 7+ times, washed probably 4+ times, and machine dried once or twice.
I agree, they're the best black jeans, although I haven't had experience with black samurais. dick danger's are pretty epic, though.

more pics of the thrashed black pbjs?
Here are some old versus new shots. Looking at them side-by-side, I really prefer them when they weren't so thrashed.

around 7 months wear...? too long ago to remember.
and currently, at probably 12-14 months wear.

I haven't given these nearly enough wear. They're mostly my go-to pair when my sams are being washed or something, which isn't often. I think what bugs me about them is how they don't feel enough like denim to me.
Anyway, sorry for the bad quality pic.

Personally, I subscribe to whatever looks good to me. I found a pair of used Wolverine 1000 miles recently, and I love them. I don't care if people on here say they're a marketing gimmick or whatever it is everyone complains about. (True, I wouldn't spend $325 on them, but that's because I'm frugal in general.) They're incredibly comfortable and some of the most beautiful boots I've seen. I just wish I had the chance to break them in myself.
Also, I'm surprised that the size 10 fits me perfectly, considering I'm wearing an 11 in red wing gt.

I'd love to see some more close-up shots of the 23oz iron hearts, kjell.wick. The marbling on them looks great!

I haven't had personal experience with SDA, but I think those are pretty respectable for 9 months, too. Makes me wonder why I never considered a pair of them. Nice job.

Agreed. But, if you do wind up doing that, and someone asks how much your outfit cost, don't factor in the denim, cuz... "that shit would be an embarrassment."

Just got a pair of rw 9011's a few days ago, and then happened upon a pair of wolverine 1000 miles in a thrift shop just today. They're kinda worn in, leather's pretty soft (at least compared to the red wings) and the soles are scuffed. Got them for $80. Pretty pricey for a used pair, I know, but I had to have them. I don't think cheep knows how lucky he is to have thrift shops that sell Aldens for $10.
p.s. The wolverines came with a shoemart shoehorn, an embroidered polishing rag, and 'montana pitch-blend water repellent leather dressing' (blend of pine pitch, mink oil and beeswax). Anyone know if it's good to use? I've heard mink oil is bad for leather in the long run.
