The Mexican food on here just kills me. The inability to get the stuff in Manila is incredibly sad. I can't even imagine how we've managed to survive all this time. Terrible politicians, retarded weather, bad education, no real Mexican food.
What we do have in abundance though are 24 hr. Chinese restos, but then again, doesn't every pseudo-city?
Anyone whose spent a good amount of time in Manila must have wandered into this place at least once. Drunk, dazed, with enough nicotine stuck on your clothes to put led poisoned Chinese children to shame, there's always North Park.
At 4am.. First off, Raddish cake.
Followed then by fried rice, topped with a good amount of fried pork.

This is terrible.
I normally would have never wandered into this thread, but then the thought of these pair of Strongholds coming to the Philippines was somehow exciting.
Too bad they might never come around. Damn.

Taking a break from doing paperwork to utilize my magical "Concerta" induced focus on other things.
Probably the single break of sunlight, it was another incredibly overcast day in Manila.
Having the idea to eat in reverse order, first up was the Halo-halo. This was eaten with a prior order of Chili Fries that wasn't around long enough to be photographed.
An hour or two later, it was time for dinner. Over to this place.
Serving up their take on the usual diner fair, they didn't disappoint. Bratwurst.
What the folks at the counter called nuclear Chicken Wings. Sauced up at hot as possible, boy, did I feel this the next day, so good.
Only thing left now is a two hour game of Feather Bowling. Good times.

^I know, I got that when I had mine done on the collar bone.
"It was suppose to hurt."
But then the most I got was this really annoying vibration, like the bone was rattling from the inside. Its also varies from one person to the next, pain tolerance considered.
Pictures when your done.

A sunny weekend in the Philippines.
Spent the day here.
To have this, egg noodles, extremely good broth, chilis, boiled chicken.
Chased with a tablet chocolate drink for desert.

Yeah, that's the second time around that a tailor's screwed up a perfect pair of denim. There's another case in the Imperial thread where something like thats happened as well.
Seriously turning me off to having the fit altered on mine.

Amazing food posts lately, specially that breakfast at Bouchon. And, eating at Arzak? I can barely dream about that experience, much less do it.
Well, on the opposite end of the spectrum, here's a guilty pleasure I've been eating as of late.
Pepper Lunch.
Nothing too fancy. Rice, beef, sizzling plate. It's a no brainer.

I really second sizing down on these as they do stretch for miles.
Mine have gone from slim to almost unwearably poofy. I'll try to post up pictures within the week before I try and give them another hot soak.

i would just put on when the leeve breaks ... so sexxxxual
Is this the slow A Perfect Circle version? Because, if so, I do concur.
As for Blood Brothers? I hear its quite difficult unless you both know the lyrics. Sort've rhythm sync thing going on. What the hell, beats me.

I know, do post when you get it done, i'd like to see how they turn out.
The fit really isn't for everyone. That's probably the main reason why my pair have been demoted to inhouse jeans, now that I'm leaning more towards a more tailored fit.
Not to knock on it, I still find myself rubbing my legs, just as much as when I first got it. The slub on these is just amazing, so much so that I'd be willing to desecrate it and have it tapered down.

Some amazing food posts lately, special mention to the homemade Mexican fare since there is never anything of that calibre in the Philippines. Carnitas, tacos, just too good.
Here's my contribution as of late. A dinner treat a couple nights back at a place called the "F word".
Tapa Salad.
Ratatouille Salad.
Pork, glazed and deep fried with apples.
Pork and Liver Menudo.
I don't quite remember if this was grilled Salmon Risotto.
There were some other dishes unpictured, Chicken Liver Raviolli, and a tiny Paella, good, but still, this takes the cake. Sizzling Bulalo, basically a lot of bone marrow goodness.
Overall a pretty decent meal. There hits were hits, and misses weren't so bad. In a nutshell, well prepared Stoner food. Thank god its open til 1am.

^The thoughts crossed my mind actually.
I've got around 2 inches of slack on my 33s and I was deliberating whether to put the jeans up on supermarket or just have it tailored. I cant bare to let go of the pants, the denim is just nuts.

Relatively harmless looking, about half a fiver was used in making the butter needed for it. Originally suppose to be brownies, it was clear that instructions on the side of the box weren't followed.
It took about an hour to realize that there might have been too much bud in the butter. It didn't help that this was coming to mind in the middle of a NiN concert, but what the hell. It was great.

^ See, I can't even imagine how homemade Unagi tastes like. It might just be that damn good.
Plus that sandwich with the sausages? Cevapi? looks delicious. So much so, that I'm currently trying to figure out a way to pull it off with Longanisas, I'll post pictures if it ever materializes.
Here's some interesting food fare early this week. Sunday lunch brought this about.
Grilled shrimp and Chicken. Clams. Betel Leaf Wrap, Sea Bass, and oddly colored rice.
What used to be frozen "Brazo De Mercedes"
And the cross section of Monday night's Roast Beef.

A peek into a weekend of feasting.
Friday night feast. Kare-kare. Incredibly good with the usual tripe and shoulder bits, the cuts of tail just put it over the top.
By Saturday, it was Sodom and Gomorrah levels. First up was the Lechon.
In all its porky, half massacred, goodness. Skin so crispy, it shatters.
The usual accompaniment, Pancit Palabok.
And even more Lechon, it almost looks like pulled pork in this one.
Something wiki worthy, It's a native fruit "Santol", which apparently is Wild Mangosteen in Engrish. The usually inedible skin is diced, then simmered down in coconut milk, pork bits, and green chilis. Spicy, hot, and rich, it's got this odd cleansing flavor to it that makes for a great in between bite.
Followed up with frozen "Brazo De Mercedes".
Caramelized Sago and Bananas, meant to be eaten in a bowl of crushed ice and condensed milk.
Whats left of the Sans Rival.
And if that wasn't enough they decided to serve "merienda" a couple hours later. Dinuguan, which is basically a traditional pork blood stew of ears, stomach, and neglected pig parts. The right amount of vinegar and chilis just makes this dish too good to be missed. It's mean to be eaten with the Puto/ricecakes beside it.

Thai for dinner the other day.
Platter of fishcakes, pork dumplings, spring rolls and meat skewers.
Roti and Curry
Catfish Salad
Soft shell Crab Salad
Chicken Rice
Deep Fried Tilapia with Garlic
Green Curry Chicken
Lemon, cinnamon marinated Spareribs.
Milk Tea
The food was alright. Nowhere near mind blowing but a notch above average. Though I can't even imagine the conversation that took place when they decided to garnish almost every plate with purple orchids. Hm.

@501cult - Incredibly good fit man. That's how I ideally see them fitting. Mine went from.. reasonably tight, to relaxed loose.

I'd definitely say size down one on these. The pair I've got has stretched fairly quite a bit, enough for me to wish that maybe I should've went down 2 sizes on my pair.
It really just comes down to your fit preference. True to size gives you a relaxed fit, down 1 would be a slim straight and so on.
One things certain though, I would never size up on these.

It must be tough for the rural denim head.
On one hand, you get great fades from well.. doing whatever rural folks do. (I'm guessing that's walking.) On the flip side, everyone thinks your a nut. So hey, you win some, you lose some.
Back to topic. Cuffs are awesome and multiply your manliness exponentially.

@WillKhitie - we're in the midst of a heatwave, 35 degrees upwards, even the nights are hot as hell, is there any denim specialty store in Manila?
May that thing never hit Manila It's been raining here almost everyday. But I'd pick this over weather like that. 35 degrees on number, but I reckon it feels like 40 with the humidity floating around.
Specialty Denim store? There's demonito, he's got the hook ups.
It's also such a small community here, and most, if not all the people regularly take trips to Hong Kong. So it's just a matter of borrowing someone's Take5 discount card and your all set.

There's a bunch of denim heads from SEA.
I figure they're just lurking about here and there, trying to find answers to their sizing woes and whatnot.
Me being from Manila, I've got no problems wearing my Sugarcanes most of the time. On the other hand, working in retail does make it easier, being air conditioned most of the time.

The black coated ones keep calling me. Good thing the wallets empty. It's preventing me from asking sizing questions, or getting too attached.
Anyone jumped the gun on these yet? I'd like to see how they fit folks first, before drooling any further. Sized up, and sized down.
Judging from the photos on the site, the slim ones look uber tight.

Did anyone get any word from Gram about the frames posted awhile back?
They never did seem to reply.

Anyone know where to get the STRM color for any cheaper than the site?

Random date food fare, proper order this time.
Snack, Shawarma.
For desert, bananas, Nutella, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce, wrapped in a crepe.
