I have a pair of waxed black darkshadow jeans that I bought on supermarket here, and they are great. They are by far the skinniest jeans that work on me, they are skinny but don't make your legs look like twigs. I reccommend.

I like this Patrick Ervell coat, he calls this coat the "American Trench" though I'm not sure it really counts as a trench given how short it is. Goldengloves posted a nice fit of it in the waywt. Though he had the light grey wool color, this pic is the navy.
Not quite a trench, but for people like me who aren't usually going to be wearing it over a full suit, perhaps more appropriate. Looks like it goes well with denim.
What do you guys think of the length and color?

agh I didnt mean to ask that question so emphatically! internet:(

Hey GregNYC, fantastic posts on this thread by the way. I feel like I've taken a master class just reading them.
I remember you or someone saying you were not impressed with the quality of Nom De Guerre's Tricker's collaboration? Did you find them completely inferior to Tricker's otherwise? I am wondering because Nom De Guerre seems to be the only place in NY that stocks my enourmous shoe size in Tricker's.
Does anyone have any opion on the quality of the Tricker's/NDG wingtips?

It was like the image below, i think (maybe this one?) but with holes cut in underarms and arrows pointing up, under the chest pockets (maybe they aren't visible in this pic?).
I like (N)ine but they are always sold out of my size, so I almost just lept on this piece just cuz it fit well!

cool,. I do like those cognac wingtips. But if its not on sufu, does it really count?
If a brand falls in the forest and no one on sufu is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

thanks folks. Yeah the first one is tim hamilton. I was at odin yesterday and they told me that they returned all of theirs because they had some problem with the material. But maybe it was just their batch, because bergdorf had it in stock, just not in my size.
To be honest i don't think I've ever worn an "unstructured" jacket, and I don't know the ervell line terribly well, so I will definitely try it on. Hopefully they carry it at NDG.
I know some people were dissappointed with Ervells s/s 08, but from the images online some of the grey outerwear/jackets looked very nice.

Thanks goldengloves! Once again I'm amazed by your knowledge of all of this. I've actually learned a lot about style from your previous posts.
And from the looks of this jacket, 1290 doesn't sound like such a bad price point compared to similar brands. When I was at IF in Soho they certainly had much less nice, flimsier jackets that seemed to be from f/w 07 Margiela for 1200ish. Now I have to go check out the fit in the NY store.

Jet, that jacket really is awesome. The details on the size of the lapels and the buttons are great. Also, I do like blue outerwear and it seems that the sufu-type brands rarely do blue, many focusing on the all-black look for winter and greys and whites only for s/s.
I hope someone in new york carries this jacket, I'd have to get it, I'm almost scared to know the price.
I was just in IF in Soho today but didnt really like the Margiela stuff they had there. Though the knits are nice...

Yeah I like this trench a lot. Unfortunately I only got made fun of when I asked what specific type of Prorsum Trench it was. Oh well. Given the fit its possible its one of the tailored trenches that they fit you for. Either way, its dope, maybe I'll ask them next time I'm in the Ny store.

Anyone know anything about this designer?
these wingtips here look nice:

as do some of the jackets here:

but I can't find much on sufu about him.
Opinions?

thanks Joey. I see it says Burberry, but I was in the burberry store in NY recently and did not see this item, so was wondering if it was only carried in london, etc.
Thank you for the gratuitous insult tho, if it was indeed directed at me.
Happy newyear!

Still, this macross stuff incredibly nice. Great fit too.
Where do you buy macross stuff? I have never seen this brand in the US, but would love to find it. Or is it one of the only-order-from japan brands?

This is a sick coat. Where did you get it, and for how much?
Anyone know if this is on sale in NY somewhere?

Has anyone seen the Black coat with armpit holes from the f/w 2007 collection? It has arrows and tons of fashion-forward ornamentation. Can't find a pic of it online.
It looked nice and i was considering buying but i think it might be too over the top/runwway to wear with regular stuff?
Anyone who has seen it have any opinion?

Hi all, I've lurked in this thread for a while and now have finally caught up with all the posts. It's made me want to get a pair of alden lace up's or indy's and a pair of redwing 875 or 1911. And more!
My last shoe purchase was a my first pair of carpe diem. 6 holes up, in brown leather. I notice there hasn't really been any mention of this brand on here.
Other than the fact that they are outrageously priced, do you also find carpe diem to be inferior in construction or aging to the great brands mentioned on here such as Alden and Crockett and Jones?
I was planning on just wearing these as my only pair of boots, but now I am starting to feel compelled to at least get a pair of Alden's in black or #8 shell cordovan.
thanks,
J
