  2. yea one of the naked and famous denim is $777 it is ridiculous

I saw the limted denim this weekend at the SF Barneys. There are only 37 pairs in existence world wide. They are a hank-dyed natural indigo denim from Japan. They looked and felt really nice, with a heavy slubby texture. Probably about 19oz. Unfortunatley, I have seen the Oni Shoai's as well, and for the big money I would take them instead.

If I can make it down there after work this week, I will snap some photos of these.

  4. Anybody know the thigh measurements on the KMW 1950 Raw vs. Rinsed (made in China) in a 32 or 33 waist? I wanna cop bad...

Captain......I have a 32 Chinese made 1950 rinse at home......I will grab some measurements when I leave work........I want to say they are around 12.5" in the thigh area, but I will get a definite number in a few hours......

  5. Thanks.......I can tell they are gong to be a bitch to break in.....but the fit is really nice......I was a little concerned they were going to be too tapered.....but they fit spot on.....kinda like a 501......almost....

  6. Here we go.....some nice D2 sorrow info....

    measurements on a 34/34

    waist - 34"

    inseam - 33.5"

    FR - 11.5"

    RR - 15.75"

    Knee - 9"

    Hem - 8.25"

And the pics..........I am loving these so far......but after one hour of wear, they are tearing the hell out the back of my knees......

  7. Just got my D2 Sorrow's......it felt like I was putting on a pair or pants made from sheet metal......these things are STIFF!!!!......I will post some measurements, pics, etc when I get back from the office......

Crap.....I think my thighs are losing circulation.......

  8. lol. ilovespaz is my coworker and he is referring to my Oni Vedge Blue's that have the selvage back pocket arctuate which he claims to look like Rock and Republic.

maybe i'll catch some heat.......but i thought those Oni's looked pretty good.........I wouldn't mind pair for myself if i wasn't already drowning in indigo......

but back to the Acadami's.....does anyone got fit picks for the dark indigo ones??.....

  9. they seem to be doing pretty damn good for themselves.......from SFGATE, feb 13th 2008

"Levi Strauss & Co. shook off a sales slowdown in the United States late last year to boost its profit for the ninth straight quarter and cap the jeansmaker's best year in more than a decade.

The San Francisco company said Tuesday that it earned $267 million during its fiscal fourth quarter that ended Nov. 25, more than double the $96 million profit for the same time in 2006."

  10. how does the d2 fit? i'm thinking about getting a pair of detroits. is it the same fit?

I think the D2 sorrows fit closer to a cali.....but I am not totally sure....I heard they fit similar to a 1947....but maybe a little more slim on the bottom.......maybe someone else can shed some light??

  11. I took the 2010's on a trip today.....they are truly rugged jeans......they held up well to all the dirt, branches, and poison oak.......as for stretching......I bought the 2010's in a 32, and they have stretched out to a comfy 34 now.......

  12. this is like 2 months of quality wear.....these have become my lab work jeans.......I have two holes in them from methane-sulfonic acid......they haven't really done anything all all......I think standing around in the lab isn't the best for fading......they have done quite a bit of shrinkage in the inseam, and some mad leg twist is starting to develop......

  13. Just got a pair of the 1930's off styleforum for a ridiculous price......the catch was that they are a size too big for me.......I said screw it and roped them anyways.....they will be my work wear....super baggy.....non-sufu fitting jeans.......these guys are absolutely gorgeous....the denim is very rough.....and Cotton was right, they have this musky, dirty feel to them........like the denim has a 5 o'clock shadow.....

so heres the fit.......I shrank the hell out of them in a hot soak, and they came down from about 34.5 in the waist to around 33 or so......so they actually fit......just a little lose all around.........I am going to wear them to foo fighters tomorrow night and see if i cant start the break in process........action pics to follow.....:)
