  1. i posted about happy socks about a year ago in this thread. they are alright. not sure if they are worth the $10 a pair but they are bright and colorful.

i do like the 5 color pattern though

Hemp ones are real nice. Super soft and breathable, worth the extra $$ IMO

  2. Cool discussion, checking out some new stuff as a result. Eyeing those 4season OG pants, love the functionality of it, but it'd fit much better into my current wardrobe than a lot of the other stuff posted in here.

edit: it's also interesting to me to see fashion designers whose design drivers are leaning more toward functionality, as opposed to a "sense" of functionality that isn't quite there. The application of an actual design process is something that seems to be missing from a huge majority of fashion, since so much of it is dictated by trendsetting/following. I like seeing something that is trying to achieve something more than just that; something with a specific idea that transcends the trend its a part of it. A good example (although it doesn't quite fit into the rest of the brands posted), is Issey Miyake/Reality Lab's dresses that were made to fold into two-dimensional geometric shapes for easy and appealing storage. The clothing is a little two out there, but the idea is wonderful, the designers involved were inspired by a japanese computer scientist who designed a program to create three dimensional geometric forms out of single pieces of paper.

This is not flat anymore. but can become flat again.

  3. xpost from 2 year thread, somet 003 (or is it 030?)

Teaser pre-wash pics of my 3+year old somet. Like all my jeans, they were worn really off-and-on, so I'm not sure how much actual wear or how many washes. Something like 6-8 cold washes, a couple hot soaks. Need some repairs and another wash.

  5. parents paid off my credit card bill

bottle of wine (2007 willamet valley pinot noir, didn't even know they had vineyards in oregon...)

a shitload of loose leaf tea

    a nice ceramic mug

    hunger games trilogy

haven't seen my gf yet, anxious to see what she got me. probably something cheap but sentimental, we're both broke!

  6. I lived on campus my first year at sfsu, and I honestly much prefer living where I do now, in noe valley, a 45 min muni ride away from state. Then again, I transferred from a community college and already knew plenty of people in sf, so meeting freshman wasn't a big priority. It's hard to meet people in class at state, due to the huge student population/large amount of commuters, so living on campus can definitely help make friends.

But yeah, don't overlook places further out from state; if it's in walking distance of the M line it shouldn't take too long to get to school.

  7. It is NOT the pinnacle of architecture for this generation and will NOT define the era in which it was built. There is nothing groundbreaking about this. They have to be joking about that. After looking up the bio for the architect though it only makes sense. He designs for A-list celebs in LA. He doesn't build for himself he builds for the rich like a spineless slave. I guess real life Peter Keatings do exist. End rant.

Sorry to bring up something from a while back, but I had to point out that a huge majority of architecture has the almighty "client" as master and ruler. Not to say architects don't have a lot of input, I just think its silly to deride this guy for being a capitalist in a capitalist society. The rest of your post is totally fucking spot on though, that house is bullshit.
