  1. croppedkneeburststichinmb7.jpg

At some point in the past 20-ish hours the outseam knee stiching exploded a bit.

How urgent is this? Do I need to get them repaired right away and stop wearing for a bit or can I keep going a while longer?

Also, where to take these in NYC? 45rpm only repairs their own jeans now. Just a good regular non-denim-specialist tailor?

11.5 months one soak one wash no detergent by the way. Color is pretty off too, blanket in the background should be ugly military type green.

  2. Uniracers for Super Nintendo.

    uniracerssnescoverou2.jpg

I will admit I haven't played it for years, but it was ultra fun. Race riderless unicycles on 2 dimensional race courses and do tricks to go faster.

Never met anyone else who has played this game but it rules/ruled. Unfortunately I must admit its reign may have ended.

and of course all the other classic games people have been mentioning were great too.

Is Monkey Island old enough to be classic yet?

  3. what is the deal with pronation?

I wear new balance sneakers everyday since my podiatrist recommended them to me... apparently if I don't wear structured, supportive shoes and use orthodics it will mess up my feet/knees/back (they are all connected as kunk mentioned) when I am older.

I want to buy something which fits more with my self image.

Anyone else deal with pronation or poor arches?

  4. awww, thanks man.

Trevor you are such a sweet young man, one day I want to grow up and be your high school teacher. too bad when I am old enough to teach high school you will be too :(

I will inquire with Cotton Duck as to time travel possibilities...

maybe though I should try to work in your high school's administration since I think I could do more good there.

glad we found Nom de Guerre, I think I will go back to try on another shirt I saw.

and that magazine I picked up is really great.

  5. a semi heart break was when i made this one japtourist my girlfriend. i was willing to break shit off with my then current bitch. i went back to japan and she wanted to break up with me about after a week. i was driving all the way out to fuckin kanagawa just to see her and shit. she apparently broke up with me cause i scared her in the club. apparently i was drunk and started yelling at/hatin on some gaijin bitch for being a cunt.

she now got herself a work-visa and let me hit it again when she got to honolulu, but not any more. she is going out with a surfer who works at starbucks. she was adorable. like a porcelain baby doll. i wish i could have been the one to break up with her.

you read that one Mishima short story ever? I think it is called Fountains in the Rain. I haven't read it for a few years but liked it at the time.

  6. DDML, are you seeing a Philedelphia Boris show?

I saw them at Knitting Factory NYC a couple months ago and the show ruled. Their next NYC show is Webster Hall which I don't particularly like but I will go anyway. The new album is pretty good over all. I have only heard the Southern Lord version and not the Japanese master. Have you heard both versions, what do you think?

Other than that, Love is All at Market Hotel brooklyn, Russian Cirlcles at Music Hall of Williamsburg and way off is MBV in September.

More shows than that too but I have been slightly unorganized about shows recently.

  7. ^ bulid a port and marketplace. At the port get a boat.

Then in the marketplace offer to buy wood for gold. You specify how many pieces you want and how much you will pay for them.

where is your island located? if it is close to mine I can get you some wood.

  8. I built a trading post then under the "bargain hunter" section choose to offer resources. Then other people's offers show up and you can sell to them.

You need a dock and a ship first.

I have no clue what a good price for the resources are though so I might be giving this guy a really good deal or something. I sold for 15 gold per grape branch.

  9. go to the island view

then click on the forest thing

    or the special resource thing.

then allocate workers to gather it.

if you allocate too many you will have net gold loss.

EDIT never mind. this is why I don't even post that much some other guy answers better than me more quickly.

  10. yeah I signed up for this.

    name: time

    city: chronopolis

    location x-29 y-50

    delta like Gouf said

how do I search you by name? I can only figure out how to search by coordinates.

I have wine and lumber but need stone and crystals.

this is too complicated I wonder if I will still be interested after finals are over.

  11. does it only take 3 stories to kill someone? I always figured it had to be 20 or something.

and I wonder what music he was listening to.

EDIT: and I sincereley hope he had no regrets after it was too late. Condolences to his family and friends.

  12. ^I am not talking about sanforized denim only.

I am talking about both the 3001 denim and the SEXI04 denim.

And did you mean sanforized instead of unsanforized in the second sentance?

Either way I am slightly confused.

I think there is enough information out there for people to figure out how to ultimately get the best fit. Mainly I was trying to post for the benefit of landstander and I think he has his situation figured out already.

  13. Interesting to hear your experiences as well, theetruscan, selbsttatig, and braidkid.

I just want to share my experiences since they are counter to when you guys say denim will never stretch to pre soak measurements or that buying tight raw denim is stupid... In my experience with the SEXI04 I actually feel that buying comfortable raw denim was stupid (the denim Imperial uses is sanforized though unlike Flat Head's).

If it works in the end that is what matters.

I look forward to seeing more photos over the course of this contest, I wish I could participate.

  14. ^I have very little experience with thigh stretching actually.. my legs are small enough relative to my waist that both the 3001 and SEXI04 are loose in the leg on me.

Again though, I don't even own the SEXFH05, and not many people on here seem to have experience with the long term stretching of the flat head 16oz denim. Just seems strange to me to not anticipate much stretching with these.

  15. A lot of people in here are saying to just hot soak/dry jeans which fit too loose pre soak.

Honestly, do you seriously not think these will stretch out after wearing for a month plus? Are you advising that the owner hot wash every couple weeks so that they always fit snug?

I only own two pairs of jeans but here are my experiences:

3001- fit extremely tight in the waist when I purchased them. I was really skeptical but took Clay's advice anyway and got the tight w32s instead of the comfortable w33s. Even a couple weeks later I wished I had gotten the 33s since my w32s were too tight. But, after about a month of everyday wear and ever since then they have stretched out to a very comfortable waist and will not stretch anymore.

SEXI04- I read online that the black Imperial denim does not stretch too much, so I bought the slightly snug w31 instead of the tight yet Clay-approved w30. After 7 or so wears they have stretched out so much that they are uncomfortable to wear. They have extra room in the waist exactly like in landstander's pictures.

Of course it is up to whoever owns the jeans. I am sort of annoyed about not getting the w30s in the SEXI04 (last time I ever go against Clay's advice..) and just want to help if I can to prevent similar experiences occuring to others.

Personally, I don't like to wash my jeans much and believe it is more than worth it to have a tight/uncomfortable fit initially to insure comfortable/perfect fit in the waist for the long term.

  16. if you hit up the taqueria make sure to snap a pic of yourself with a supreme tee.

I go to Taqueria y Fonda once in a while but I don't understand this reference.

And if you are that far uptown I actually think Grant's Tomb is really interesting. Partly because I am from the westcoast perhaps, but giant stone monuments to some old Civil War guy... mainly weird to me that anyone would construct such a monement to an individual in America.

New Museum at Bowery and Prince is free Thursdays after 7pm. I go most weeks. Really interesting experience and architecture.

This is fairly obvious but I would recommend being careful what you are cheap about.

When I was in Japan a few years ago I was way too cheap with basically everything- didn't travel around enough, didn't eat enough good food, that type of thing.

Save money when you can with cheap lunches and breakfasts, but I would recommend trying out some interesting restaurants and not limiting yourself to just free events. Concerts, films, some museums, they cost money but are worth it once in a while.

You probably already thought about this, but really I wish I didn't have regrets about how I spend money while in Japan since I don't know when I will be there again.

Have fun, it is not hard to do here.
