just an FYI, i was at the Chicago michigan ave Levis and they were rolling out Spring 08 LVC. They had a 1971 517 in deadstock and from looking at the hang tag, looks like either the 1947 501 is out this time around or its just not mentioned. the 517s looked pretty nice.

^those don't fit anything like my raw cures. raw cures are form-fitting, don't have hip-flaring and don't get that odd stacking at the ankle. honestly, i'd sell those and get a pair of cures. you could even do a black overdye on the blue if you wanted them black, but i don't think that fit is very complementary.
